We stayed here because we were going to an event at Staples Center. Perfect place for that. Parked the car and never touched it until we left. The only negative I can say is the pool area. They have no shade or umbrellas what so ever. It was a beautiful weekend and we just wanted to lay by the pool during the day but you got blasted from the sun and […] then from it reflecting off of the glass buildings surrounding the pool. "Great Downtown Hotel"
Great hotel. Absolutely J.W. quality. Hotel is designed to house convention type traffic. It is a very large hotel with all the amenities you would expect in a five star hotel. Valet had my car read the 3 times i needed to leave the hotel during my stay. the only 2 very small issues I had were - I had to have the hotel maintenance come up since my tv had been unpluged before I got there (somehow). "Bad room service I'd ever experienced"
JW Marriott has very nice view Suites compare with other local hotels. And in-room dinning has tasty roasted chicken and tender beef strip as well as strawberry ice cream. The bad thing about the hotel is the room clean attention. During my 5 nights stay, they seem like totally forgot cleaning on my room. I usually leave around noon time and take the […] "Serenity" sign back into room from outside door knob. But I only see room clean service people every morning instead of afternoon. Occasionally, I had a chance to talk to a person while she was on her duty and she said would come back to do the job but never showed up the rest of the day. The other suite I booked during same staying , they did room clean every day but never provide new soap, shampoo and conditioner. Those towels they changed everyday looked has been used for years, color was fade to off white and texture were not soft upon touching with body. "Made me feel great"
Stayed there because I had tickets to the 5:00 Notre Dame vs USC football game (stadium is about 3 miles away). We arrived at 1:00 pm even though published check in time is 4:00 pm. When I told the parking valet we would be checking in but I didn't know if they would let us check in this early, he told me "don't worry, we've been expecting you and we're […] all ready for you." (I was wearing a Notre Dame T-shirt.) Checking was abosolutely positive with no hint of "You're too earliness." The hotel and the room were gorgeous and immaculately clean. Every employee smiled and were excedingly helpful (except there was a slow waitress on the bar patio). Can't wait for an excuse to stay there again. My 7 year old and I stayed at the Marriott before the Bieber concert at the Staples. Their service was amazing and everyone was accommodating and professional. "Clean rooms but No bath tubs in any king sz rooms"
My husband and I stayed one night there for our anniversary over labor day weekend. The location is great,right next to LA Live with plenty of options for food and entertainment. Overall it was a nice hotel with clean rooms. The only surprise was that all the king bed rooms had only shower and no bath tubs. This was not mentioned on expedia nor jw marriotts […] web site when we did the booking. Since I really wanted a bath tub, we had to switch to another room with double full size beds. Please note that valet parking is $40 (self parking was not an option), a bit pricy in my opinion. The in room wi-fi was $12.95 and breakfast buffet at LA farm (restaurant in the lobby) was $24 per person before tax and tips. The swimming pool was really nice with lots of lounge chairs. The staff and the service at this hotel were surprisingly top notch! Since it was my husband's birthday they upgraded us into a larger corner room with great views. Although some must have smoked in the room, the hotel did everything they could to clean it out and because of their efforts, I had no complaints about that.
