Multimillion-dollar mansions flank Beverly Hills’ palm-lined streets. Lifestyles of the rich and famous are on full view on Rodeo Drive’s boutiques, from Armani to Zegna. Not coincidentally, the Melrose District east of Beverly Hills has excellent secondhand shops. Many up-and-coming design studios are based in Melrose. Nearby, West Hollywood, or WeHo, is the epicenter of Los Angeles gay life.

"if you're on a budget, not bad"
clean hotel that's stuck in the 70's. Exceptionally pleasant staff (why can't all hotels have such nice people?). Old hotel. Barebones amenities. Noisy (even though I was on the back side of the building away from the road). Parking...a definite plus. If I was on my own dime, I'd stay again. If I'm on the company card... I'd stay elsewhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"In town for a week on biz"
Stayed at crowne plaza bev hills last time and decided it try this as its walking distance to office. Great location for me, spacious rooms, large bathrooms and friendly staff at half cost of crowne plaza. Plus, free parking and The Grove is just a few blocks away. Thumbs up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Simple Hotel a Good Value"
This hotel is clean, courteous, and a good value. The room is comfortable, with a great bed and a big screen TV. There is a nice little bistro next door. There are no amenities such as vending machines, but there ia 7-11 just a block away. The wi-fi is free, and it is fast enough for Intertnet but too slow for streaming video such as Netflix on your […] laptop. There is free parking, also. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"No security at all and no elevators"
The location of the hotel was great. But I was rather surprised to find that there were NO secure gates or doors to the rooms. The back alley parking is open to anyone and everyone who walks the street and they can take the stairs straight up to the rooms!! There is no elevator on premises so hauling your luggage upstairs is a bit of a chore. The room […] itself was clean and the linens were fresh. The refrigerator and a/c unit in the room were of no use. Thankfully it was nice out so I opened the window for air but the noise of the street kept me awake all night. "comfy bed - not much for amenities"
The location of this hotel was great. The bed was really comfy. The hotel is very outdated and the carpets were a little grungy but I just wore socks the whole time. The bathroom was ok. I had to call down to the front desk for shampoo. There was no iron or ironing board or anything like that. There was a very old school small tube TV but we didn't […] spend much time in the room so it was ok. The parking was TERRIBLE. If you stay there, try to park in the street. The spaces that were available in the back of the hotel were so tiny that you couldn't open both doors. You have to let people out before you pull in - parking was behind the motel and underneath rooms but above ground. The good thing was that parking was free. Many hotels charge a ridiculous fee for parking. Overall, if you are just looking for a place to crash, it was ok. If you plan to spend much time in the room, I'd pass. "Comfortable, Safe, by The Grove & Free Parking."
It's a very basic hotel and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm used to more amenities but it is a trad-off for the price. There's also a pool but I've never used it. Looks nice though! It has free parking, it's walking distance from The Grove & Farmer's Market, and the bed is comfortable and clean. For the price, you can't go wrong.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent hotel, accommodating staff, great location!"
Staff was friendly and accommodating before I arrived and throughout my nearly two week stay. Although I booked a one-bed queen through Expedia, when I called the hotel and requested two beds they got back to me the next morning and honored my request at no additional charge. Upon my arrival, when I thought the mini-refrigerator was not working, staff […] assured me that it worked and came to my room and plugged it in. Cleaning staff did a good job of tidying the room, making the bed, and leaving lots of clean towels and washcloths daily. The shower was a pleasure with good force and plenty of hot water. There is no elevator and no one to help carry luggage, which I knew beforehand and did not mind. Carpet in my room had a few stains. The bed was very comfortable. However, the mattress cover shifted and bunched causing some annoyance. I could on occasion hear people talking outside and in the next room. The fan effectively blocked out those noises. Parking, which is behind and under the hotel, was convenient, adequate, and a huge plus. The internet worked well. Bus stops are less than a block away. Downtown is a half hour bus ride. Whole Foods, Ross, K-Mart and an upscale shopping center are three blocks away. LA County Museum is a little over a mile away. Any shops, restaurants, etc. that one could desire are nearby. The hotel/motel is basic, mostly self-service with the benefits of being excellently located, inexpensive for the area, and with a pleasant staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Best Little Hotel in LA"
Outstanding! Great little place and awesome employees! Called me by name when I walked in, reserved a parking place for my truck, evrything was wonderful. Only recommendation would be to have iron board and iron in room. I will absolutely stay here again next time I am in the area! Great little bisto next door and KFC a block away. Never got to the […] farmer's market a few blocks away but heard it was great as well. Stay here and save your money on other nearby over prices hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrific location for the West Hollywood area"
I thought this hotel was a terrific value, close to a park, shopping and in a safe neighborhood with easy parking. The staff was very helpful as well!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice and friendly."
Considering it is in downtown LA, where all of the buildings are old, it does not look impressive on the outside. The owners have refurbished the rooms and they have done a good job. However, it's kind of like the "ole silk purse out of a sow's ear" story. Over all, we were pleased as it was convenient to the hospital.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value in a great location"
Carpet was a bit stained but otherwise clean. A very basic hotel with friendly staff and free parking. Quiet and in a very good area. Walking distance from farmers market, Whole Foods,Trader joes and the Grove shopping mall. Free Internet a plus as well as a coffee bean and tea leaf across street. No frills but value for the money!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good place, but be aware it is a motel not a hotel"
I've been here on a business trip. Location was OK (no room was closer to downtown in that price range) price, room size, cleaning, furnitures were good. Aircond is rather noisy can not set to low fan mode. Reception is helpful. (Even accepting faxes, printing, etc.) Services of hotel are very limited. In international term it is NOT a hotel but more […] like decent motel. Accepting this fact I can recommend it to travellers with tight budget. George Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Decent deal, a few minor issues"
Too much bleach in bedclothes. Fumes make it harder to sleep. Also, only icemaker on first floor, but not a show stopper. Noisy vent in bathroom always on when light is on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent value, not to be overlooked!"
I stayed here as I was on an extended business trip (3 weeks) and was looking for something affordable. The room was super clean (second floor), the staff was very friendly and the location is fantastic. From the exterior it looks like a 1960's motel postcard and the hallway to the rooms reminded me of my college dorm in Boston. But if you're looking […] for an affordable option, and require a clean room with a great location, this is for you! One thing to note, if you will have a car while here, there is free parking but the spaces are quite narrow, so you may not want to rent an Escalade. While in LA make sure to hit Pinkberry! I also liked Vito's Pizza- amazing! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"a pleasant surprise"
We had business to do on Wilshire blvd and picked this place bc of the location. As we drove up, we hit pockets of unsavory neighborhoods so we questioned our choice. As soon as we got a few blocks from the hotel, to our delight, the neighborhoods turned lovely and quaint. We felt very safe there and walked to all our business meetings. The hotel itself […] is simple and unpretentious. It is clean, small and lovely. We highly recommend the Fiddlers Cafe next door. Their food was fresh and delicious. "Walking distance from good restaurants"
Hotel is older but has been updated. There is a very nice bistro adjacent which can be accessed from the lobby, open for breakfast thru dinner. There is a wonderful shopping district about 3 blocks west called The Grove with everything from top-notch restaurants to delis, fast food and a farmers market, along with high-end shopping on a cobblestone […] pedestrian-only "street". Very nice place to spend an evening. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointing Motor Lodge"
The experience started when the cab pulled up to a 1950s style motor lodge. I checked in to a room on the second floor, but there was no elevator. The room was very musty, so I turned on the 1960 era air conditioner in the window. The room did not cool off on LOW, and it was very noisy on HIGH. Fortunately the air conditioner noise covered up the sound […] of the TV in the next room. However it is a great location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value and location for the price"
Everything was as expected at check in. The hotel is well located And there is a nice kcal restaurant on the premesis which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room was of decent size. The carpeting and bathroom were a bit long in the tooth, but acceptable for the price range. I would return on a future business trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Park Plaza Lodge in L.A. - great location!"
My buddy and I stayed in a room with two double beds for 7 nights, so we had a good feel of the hotel and its environs. We also had others in our group staying in other rooms at the same time. Pros: 1. Friendly and helpful staff. We requested an iron and it came within minutes. Our hairdryer wasn't working but as we went out for the day we told the […] front desk and it was put right by the time we got back. 2. The location is amazing (probably the key selling point for this hotel). The Grove (shopping, dining, movies) and the Farmer's Market (wide selection of food vendors) are a 5 to 8 minute walk away (West). There is a Whole Foods supermarket (across the street from The Grove) where there is even seating and plastic cutlery for you to eat the meals you've just bought. There's a Coffee Bean across the street and a KFC a two-minute walk away (East). A 7-Eleven is also two minutes away, in the other direction (West) as is a Chase bank with ATMs. A 15-minute walk south gets you to an IHOP. A bus stop is right outside the hotel. The La Brea Tar Pits and LACMA are within walking distance (20 minutes). 3. The hotel's in a safe area of L.A. - West Hollywood. It's right next to a good residential area and there's a well-used and safe public park nearby. 4. If you have a car - parking's free! 5. Of course, people differ on what they like in a bed, but I found my double bed very comfortable. I like a firm bed and it was fine for me. 6. Very reasonably priced for the location. (the 7. Well-cleaned each day. 8. If you do stay there, make sure to eat at the Fiddler's Bistro next door. The pancake/bacon/eggs breakfast I had there was better than my pancake/bacon/eggs breakfast at the Farmer's Market. And for dinner, there's good linguine and crab cakes and much more. Cons: 1. The hotel can seem noisy, if you're sensitive to noise. There was some traffic noise, the A/C (old-style) was also noisier than modern models, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was kind of loud. "Good deal for the location!"
I have stayed in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills area several times and as hotel prices have risen over the last 7 years, I find it increasingly difficult to get a good hotel at a good price. However, I was so happy with the Park Plaza! What a good deal at less than The Beverly Laurel (stayed there last time). Park Plaza is a boutique hotel on par […] with the Laurel with better upgrades - i.e., a spanking gorgeous new bathroom and super comfy new beds. The hotel is typical of a boutique in that it is an older building with a small pool but I liked it a lot. For the price, I would pick the Plaza over the other places I have stayed - the Bev Carlyle onm Robertson, the Ramada on Santa Monica, and the Bev Laurel! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"좋은 위치, 깔끔한 객실"
