"Small rooms and no security"

Good value. Close to our son's residence - that is the primary reason we chose this hotel. We did not take advantage of the amenities - primarily just needed a place to sleep. Suggestions for improvement - need a freight/service elevator as well as larger elevators to eliminate long waits. "Good hotel, shady neighborhood"
We stayed at the custom hotel for one night. Our room and service was okay but somebody broke into our car. The car was parked on the street per the front counter. We didn't want to pay the $20 for valet parking. Long story short, crooks shattered the passenger side window and leaving a big dent on the door frame. They also took our iPod which I purchased […] for my wife for Christmas gift along with the iPod and GPS chargers. I think the hotel should monitor the block since most of the visitors park on the street. Security guards or cameras should help prevent this problem. "Great Hotel near LAX"
Location is excellent near LAX in a very nice neighborhood of Westchester near Loyola Marymount University. Customer Service was outstanding from all the Front desk clerks to the shuttle drivers. "Poor customer service"
I was traveling with 3 small children, including 1-year-old twins. I reserved 2 cribs when I made the reservation via hotels.com. I also called the hotel directly, a week in advance of my trip, to ensure that they had the crib reservation in their notes (they assured me they did). However, upon arrival, only 1 crib was available. (Cue the Seinfeld episode […] - what exactly does "reserve" mean if they don't actually hold it for you?) I politely asked about the reservation, and the hotel clerk became hostile and combative. She curtly said, "We had your reservation request, but there was never any GUARANTEE of a crib, it's not like you're paying money and renting one." I didn't understand how could she say that to a paying customer, I was a guest of this hotel! Anyway, since a second crib was unavailable, I tried to come up with other solutions. Could we get a mattress on the floor? No, it's a fire hazard for that room. I pressed further, and it seemed that changing rooms was not an option (or it would be a fire hazard in every room). Having just come off a difficult journey on a plane, I was near tears at that point. I said, "PLEASE, work with me. What have other travelers done when a crib was not available?" And she stared at me and said she'd send up a sheet and a pillow. And that was it. We stayed there from Thur-Mon. If they had called at any point in our stay to say a second crib was available, I would not feel so slighted. If the desk clerk had apologized or even tried to help me figure out how I would contain a roaming 1-year-old baby in a non-childproofed room, I would not be so upset. We ended up buying a pack-n-play for the duration of our trip and donated it to Goodwill the day we left. Other comments about our experience - the room was small and shabby but freshly painted. The lighting was dim. The mattresses were old and soft. (By the third night, I was waking up with back pain.) We stayed one night at this hotel. It was close to the airport and a great jaoanese restaurant. The service was OK but you had to pay extra for everything which we didn't like. The rooms were not what we expected for the cost and rating.
