"Close to downtown!"

"Location, Location, Location"
The best thing about this hotel is the location! Went with a few girlfriends to see Wicked at the Pantages Theatre. It was only a mile away and right off of Hollywood Blvd., and a few blocks from Sunset Blvd. Perfect location. Very cute on the outside. Nice shutters in all the rooms. Pool looked clean...didn't use it (December). Nice continental breakfast. […] Inside of room was just ok. Bed linen was old and should be replaced. Hair on the pillow cases. Called the front desk and they brought new/clean ones right away. Light in the bathroom was so dim, you could barely see what you were doing. Spoke to one of the housekeepers, but it was not fixed. I wasn't sure about staying at this hotel at the beginning for some mixed reviews, i wanted to stay close to Hollywood, and it was the Hollywood Inn was a good choice , clean room, i didn't have any problem finding parking, the area is not bad, restaurants close to the hotel, metro and bus stop one block away. "Pretty basic."
We stayed there for two nights. The price was reasonable, seeing as we stayed during the weekend and it is pretty close to the must-see Hollywood attractions. However, the room itself was pretty basic, and the beds were hard to lie in. At first glance, the neighbourhood seemed very shabby, and although I don't think it's as bad as we feared when we […] arrived, I wouldn't have walked anywhere alone at night. The hotel includes breakfast, but this is mainly donuts and coffee, and both mornings we decided to go somewhere else for breakfast instead. I'm not sure if I would stay there again, but that has more to do with wanting to stay closer to the beach - which is more than half an hour's drive away from the hotel location. The hotel was a little dated but very clean. The room had a flat screen with Direct TV, free Wi-Fi, refrigerator, microwave, individual a/c unit, and a couch. The neighborhood is okay, nothing fancy but you’re in the Hollywood area. The hotel is about a block away from the Metro Red subway which is convenient if you want a low cost and traffic free […] ride to downtown LA, Universal Studies, and Hollywood/Highland. "Hollywood City Inn - Great location Walk of Fame"
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They let us use the toilet even after we'd checked out and also let us leave our car in the parking after checking out. The hotel is a short walk from the Walk of Fame which was great. The room was clean and had everything we needed. "Great place right outside busy Hollywood traffic"
Wonderful friendly service, non smoking room was perfect. Staff in the morning was friendly as well. All rooms had recent upgrades (flat panel TV's, new paint, window shutters). There was a slight cleaning chemical smell in my room when I arrived, but after 5min with the window opened it was gone. "Lovely hotel, not close to much!"
We found that this hotel was lovely, had a nice pool, microwave and fridge in room, everything was clean. Only problem was none of the sights were anywhere near, but there is a metro just down the road that takes you there so it doesn't really restrict you too much, just have to pay for the metro. Complementary breakfast is nice and a definate bonus. […] The neighbourhood is a bit rough, but then so is most of downtown los angeles, not at all what you picture really. "A surprising gem amongst the budget hotels"
My friend and I stayed at the Hollywood City Inn for four nights. We weren't expecting much, as we were on a budget, and the hotel was cheap. We were very pleasantly suprised however. The hotel was in a very good location (located on Hollywood Blvd) it was a half hour walk approx to the centre of hollywood (Chinese Theatre, etc) and there is a subway […] about two minutes walk up the road. The hotel was clean, serviced daily, with a lovely bathroom and comfortable beds. I'm a little bit of a germaphobe, and I felt comfortable with the level of cleanliness. My friend commented that it was one of the most comfortable beds she'd ever slept in. Would definitely recommend this hotel as a top of the liner in the budget category. This was quite a nice little motel in a very good location. It was extremely comfortable and has it's own pool. There is a bit of a limit on parking, but the parking is free for motel guests. one of the staff members was not overly friendly, but the other staff members made up for it. It is very close to a subway station which can take you to the main […] attractions of hollywood, and also has ample food stores within walking distance. There were also plenty of clothing stores and pharmacies nearby which provided any of the essentials we needed for our stay. It was also a fairly quiet and safe area at night, although sometimes the buildings would shake a bit when a door was slammed or a particularly heavy vehicle drove past outside. "Mysigt hotell"
Vi är två tjejer som stannade på Hollywood city inn 5 nätter under vår vistelse i LA. Hotellet var väldigt fräscht, poolområdet helt okej att ligga och sola på (var kallt i poolen så badade inte) och rummen var jättefräscha! Väldigt bekväm säng, bra wifi och tv, ac (den lät lite emellanåt dock), fräscht badrum med handdukar, bra med micro och kylskåp. […] Ganska lyhört mellan rummen. Frukosten bestod av munkar, te/kaffe, juice och bananer men eftersom det fanns kyl köpte vi hem frukost från Food4less som låg 100m bort. Vi bodde där för att lätt kunna ta oss till lite olika turistmål utan bil såsom Walk of fame (20 min promenad), StarLine sightseeingbuss (30min promenad) och Griffith Park (5 min promenad). Griffith park är helt fantastiskt att vandra och springa i med utsikt över hela LA. Det vi inte gillade med hotellet var området det låg i, det var mycket hemlösa och konstiga människor runt omkring tills man kom närmare Walk of fame och alla affärer där borta. Men på dagtid var det absolut okej att gå överallt. Det går bussar utanför hotellet varje kvart så man kan ta sig kommunalt runt LA, vilket var bra för oss. Buss kostar 1,5 $ oavsett resmål. Hotellpersonalen var trevliga och hjälpsamma, de hjälpte gärna till med utflykter mm. Rekommenderar starkt detta hotell om du vill ha schysst boende till bra pris och nära mycket i Hollywood! Stannade på Hollywood City Inn under 6 nätter, helt okej hotell faktiskt. Självaste området var inte direkt jätte trevligt om man säger så. Kändes lite som om man var i ett slumområde men inte att man kände sig otrygg på något sätt. Sen upplevde jag lite att hela Hollywood i sin helhet var rätt ofräscht. Vill du ha ett riktigt fint område borde du nog […] börja leta bland Beverly Hills trakterna men då är det en helt annan budget. Men som oss till exempel, under dagarna promenerar man kanske, och under kvällarna tar man kanske taxi, eller om du nu väljer att hyra bil vilket är ännu bättre. Sen har du Tunnelbana nästan precis utanför som du lätt kan ta om du känner för det. Walk of fame ligger nära men räkna med 15-20min ungefär. Frukosten dom fanns var lite flingor och donuts så den skippade vi fullständigt. Vi var ändå nöjda med hotellet med tanka på priset och ändå hyffsat centralt..
