Staff was ok and the location was convenient for a quick drive to a few Dodgers games and to downtown LA. The hallway smelled like smoke and in the middle of the night we could smell people smoking in other rooms. We were in a non-smoking room so this shouldn't have happened. The breakfast was not very good (the minimum continental stuff with stale […] pastries) and the neighborhood (while ok during the day for short stroll to one of the coffee shops) was a bit intimidating at night. "To be expected!"
The outside was nice as well as the lobby but when going upstairs to the room the hallways were filthy, there were ash trays everywhere in the hallways which I thought meant you can smoke there but you can't so why have the ashtrays. The room was ok, not a lot of room entering the room. The shower and toilet were enclosed together in a very tight space. […] The neighborhood was a bit on the rougher side, but the customer service was great. I payed in total 160.00 for two queen beds in a smoking room without ashtrays. "Decent for price"
Picked this after seeing the favorable reviews and high rating. We were visiting friends and just wanted a decent place to sleep and don't have much experience with hotels. Its basic and clean but the bed is incredibly hard, it felt like we slept on the floor. Also, our king bed had 5 small pillows rather than 2 large ones. Another negative is the thin […] walls, we.could hear people walking above us, rooms next to us using the shower and luckily for hs, having a heated argument. We had little interaction with the staff but they were friendly. You do get a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, free breakfast, free WiFi and free parking. Its located within driving distance to a lot of attractions and the neighborhood isn't that bad but isn't fancy either. If you're planning a weekend getaway to the Silverlake arts district, this is the best place to stay. You can literally walk anywhere and hit all the best clubs to see shows, or have some great food.
