"Receptionist wasn't helpful"
The hotel was alright but I wasn't happy that the receptionist didn't let us checkin in around 1:30pm. But he did let us check in after he charged us $20.00. I've never experienced like this in other hotels that I've been. So I'm disappointed with the service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Adequate"
Okay if you need a place to sleep. The room was not a place you'd feel comfortable just hanging around in. Overall the building and rooms are very tired and worn. There was a missing light switch on the lamp over the bed and, though operable from a wall switch, only one side of the lamp worked at all. The outside door would not stay shut and even when […] "locked" could always could be pushed open an inch or so. Window curtain would not close all the way for privacy, so we used a clamp to hold it shut. Breakfast and coffee were good. The maid staff was friendly. "Leaky faucets, close to Universal Studios"
The staff were all very nice when we checked in early (for a fee). The room had a very musty smell to it. The sink faucet and tub continuously leaked, which was very hard ignore the sound and the shower curtain had mildew on it. We stayed here because of the closeness to Universal Studios but were disgusted by the room. There was also old beef jerky […] piece on the bed. "Hollywood Exec Vagabond Inn - Avoid at all costs"
Only stay here if you are completely desperate. The first sting is they charge you extra for electricity claiming its a tax imposed on them (note this allows them to appear better value than the competition that usually supply electricity with our room!) The surrounding neighborhood is not one to stroll after nightfall. The rooms have no tea or coffee […] making facilities, and the furnishings, TV etc are very bottom-end. "Loud Hotel Guests"
If you just want a place to crash for the night and are a heavy sleeper this is the hotel for you. I was up until 2am with loud hotel guests that seemed to be moving furniture around above us and not to mention the guest that were making out on the stairs right outside our door! "Holywood Vagabond Inn"
The room was clean in general. I had my one year old baby with us and he found an ear plug and the top of a hairspray can under the bed. The shower was clean but the inside of the shower curtain had mold on it which you wouldn't see until you were actually in the shower with the curtain pulled closed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hollywood on a budget"
The room stank of stale cigarette smoke, the bed springs were ridiculously noisy and started up everytime you moved and the door looked as if it had been forced from the outside at some point in the past. I ended up wedging our cases between it and the sideboard in case anyone might try something similar while we were staying. Luckily we only stayed […] one night. On the plus side the hotel was cheap but I wouldn't have stayed longer than one night. I wouldn't have gone out around the hotel at night on foot either and only ran across the road in the daytime to the Taco-Bell to grab some coffee at breakfast time.
