Used as a backdrop for countless films and TV shows, downtown Los Angeles is one of the world’s most recognized skylines. This area’s landmarks include the LA Convention Center, the Staples Center, and Dodger Stadium. Post-modern architecture takes center stage at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Nearby, Chinatown and Little Tokyo lie east of City Hall.

Newly renovated hotel from top to bottom. Just excellent. Far end of hotel strip so not the greatest location if you are back and forth to the conference center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Under construction but you wouldn't know it"
The hotel is in the process of a $20 million renovation which should be completed by Spring 2013. The room that I stayed in was already completed and it was very nice. Staff was extremely helpful and the food was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This is a very nice hotel. The room was particularly roomy and comfortable (though the cost was not cheap). Also, service was very good, including the bar and restaurants. Could have used an ice machine or mini-bar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Bad service"
I arived 11.50 PM. The bar was closed, there was no minibar, no roomservice and the water tasted bad and I could not buy a bottle of water or something to eat not even snacs. Nothing. I clamed and there was a man in the bar - but he would not sell me anything because it was closed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great customer service."
I was disappointed with the conciere level. The refreshments were generous with alcholic beverages, but very limited with snacks. The fresh vegetables and ranch dressing, crackers, apples, orgaes and banannas, Coffee, tea, Hot chocolate were not worth the additional money that I paid to stay on that level. Were the room upgraded from regular rooms? […] Ny room was supposed to be smoke free but it smelled like some one had smoked a cigar in the bathroom. This could have been serious for someone who is allergic to smoke. The staff was exceptionally courteous, helpful, friendly and warm. The staff hospitality partially made up for the meager refreshments on the conciere level. I was expecting at least some cheese and crackers. I will not bother with the conciere level again. "Very dated hotel but a good downtown location"
This hotel is desperate need of a makeover. It is very dated but for what I come to LA for the location is perfect. It is a truly mediocre hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Really Expensive Room Service"
Liked it better in the 80's when it was a Sheraton Grand @$27 night plus tax. In any case, still a nice property, conveniently located. While this shouldn't surprise anyone Room Service was really expensive. A New York Steak, glass of wine and a desert was $80. Food was above average, but certainly not on par with the cost.Genuine Expedia guest review

The hotel was basically what I expect at Marriott--which is why I chose it in the first place. Comfortable, clean room. Helpful and friendly staff. Good location.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A little too old.."
The Hotel back in the day must have been at it's prime.. However, for today date the Hotel needs a "face lift' and some TLC. Not dirty but very worn out..Genuine Expedia guest review
