Checked in around 5pm, went to the room, it was not even made up from the guest before. Had to walk all the way back to the lobby (in another building) Was given an upgraded room, which was nicer. Room had hair all over the floor in the bathroom and there was a light bulb out. Did not get turn down service as promised. Saw other rooms had newspapers […] attached to the door, I was never offered one. Bottom line is the hotel is nice looking and in a good location, but the service is awful. "Awesome Hotel, bad location"

First visit to the hotel, and I was really impressed with the size of the guest rooms, service of the staff and how well the fitness center was furnished. I paid a very reasonable rate for a King room which was large, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. I've stayed at the Luxe several times now. Despite the location right next to the 405 freeway, it's always quiet, dignified, elegant and comfortable. The rooms are well-appointed. We chose the hotel on Sunset Blvd becusee clients of ours said it was convenient to where they lived for breakfast. Right off the 405 in a desirable area - a hidden oasis that you would nver know was there. Quiet, elegant tasteful, excellent food good bar and pleasant pool with roomy cabana like tents. we were only in town one night for business and […] it was the perfect businessman's hotel. Tee rooms are huge with lovely balconies, flat screen tv's FREE INTERNET everywhere and roomy bathrooms. OUtside patio was nice for 5 o'clock cocktails. Even got in some star sighting since there was a press junket there for 2 days for a new movie with Dennis Quaid about the one-armed surfer girl. Lots of activity but very quiet at night when you go to sleep. Quite the happening place. there was live music in the bar and a barteneder that made great drinks! bar food menu was very good too. "ALMOST flawless"
The only real negative to the hotel was houskeeping. Although the room was cleaned everyday, small things were left uncompleted. I stayed for 4 nights. Each night somehting wasn't appropiately restocked. My husband and I were in town for business and chose this hotel for it's location. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine in the bar and also happy hour. If I were to say anything negative it was that the little lady that works in the gift shop was very rude and anti social and sold me a 100 year old bottle of nail polish. Our overall experience at the LUXE Hotel Sunset Boulevard was very good. When we arrived, the valet staff and the front desk staff were courteous, swift and professional. We were shown to our rooms quickly and our luggage was promptly delivered. The rooms were spacious and nicely designed. The pool was tranquil and relaxing - a great place to enjoy […] the LA summer weather. Housekeeping always kept the rooms clean and tidy and provided nightly turn-down service which we appreciated. The only set-back was the Sunday Buffet Brunch. The food seemed old and stale: the salad was wilted; the bacon greasy and soft; most of the other offerings appeared past their shelf-life. The only trouble with being close to everything was the hotels proximity to the 405 highway. It was a little tricky to get out of the hotel at times.
