Most visitors begin and end their Southland jaunt at the Los Angeles International Airport. As the nation’s busiest immigration port, LAX is a modern Ellis Island. The airport, convenient to the Beach Cities, has its own tourist attraction. The retro-futuristic Theme Building, built in 1961, resembles a flying saucer. Today, it houses a restaurant.

We got into the hotel late, and the check in was quick, but not very personal. We were not told where to go, and the way to our room was confusing, as the door we needed to go through said exit. The carpets were dingy and dirty, and the room felt the same. Although the beds and desks looked fine, it was very uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"It was just ok...."
The overall say of the hotel was just fine. The design of the room is just weird. The room was not easy to find. When I went to grab one of the armrails to walk up a flight of stars, the arm-rail FELL OFF!! WTF?!?! Had these been steeper stairs, I could have really hurt myself. The room we had didn't have a window looking outside (I wasn't asking for […] a view of anything...but I like a window) Instead, there was a window to the HALLWAY. It was very college freshman dorm feeling. I was not into that at all. Walking down the hallway, you can see into people's rooms and it just feels odd. It made sleeping there a bit stressful. Would I ever stay here again, No. Next time, I'll go to the Sheraton Gateway and spend the extra 20 bucks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"OK, Not great"
Seems like an old motel that was enclosed -- rooms have windows in hallway; staff has to remind everyone to pull down privacy shades. Rooms small and cramped. Not the place for a business traveler. Free wifi is nice, as are staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Disappointing for price"
This hotel is high price for low budget accomidations. Deluxe king room was no nicer than lower priced hotel. No hot water the first night. Only 4 Chanel's of free tv and 20$ a day parking. Electric socket by bed stand was faulty - had to unplug light and radio to stop them from popping on and off.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"expensive for the quality"
The room was smelly. There was no cream or coffee stirrers. It took them some time to bring them up. They wanted to charge me for drop off parking $20. The movies for rent on the tv system were $14.99 plus tax, and the shows $4.99. I couldnt watch tv, to expensive... The room was too cold, I had to unplug the ac no other choiceGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay, but smells"
We stayed for one night for the second time since we had an early flight out at lax the next day. The service at the front desk was great, very friendly. However once we got to our room it reeked of smoke even though it is a nonsmoking establishment. The smell got worse the longer we were in the room. We tried turning the air higher or lower but nothing […] helped. It was a bit dated, in the room but it was clean. We ate dinner at the restaurant comfort and while the food was decent, the servers really didn't want to be there. We will try something else nearby to the budget rental car lot next time as we normally rent from them and then take the free airport shuttle in the morning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Disappointed."
Chose those hotel due to airport shuttle. Disliked bouncy elevator, no real dresser, setup and condition of bathroom, tub didn't drain, lack of safe deposit boxes (they had 6 med and large sizes for the whole hotel). Don't believe comforter is washed between guests. Would not return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"disappointed on four points"
my husband is a avid traveler for work. he has stayed at many four points and really likes them. not this one. first off, at check in we were told our room number out loud, a no no when doing so. no one else should hear your room number. when we got to our room, there was left over food, room key and other misc. items left on the desk. was it even cleaned? […] we called up and spoke to manager and got our room changed. i had booked a king size room. and was moved to a room with two doubles. did i pay more for a king, then two doubles? at this point i needed to get to bed for a 4am wake up. but in the middle of the night the room next door decided to have a party and tried entering our room through the connecting door. this even made my husband nervous. we called, again to the manager and explained. security had to go up and speak to them. if i wasnt leaving that mornig at 4am i would have left and gotten my money back. the manager paid for our parking, a whopping $19! but it wasnt enough to make our stay worht it. i will not be staying at this four points in l.a. again. hope the other four points live up to better conditions. The layout is awkward, and I had a hard time finding my room. The parking was also annoying. I didn't appreciate having to pay an additional amount to park.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wouldn't stay here again."
Air conditioning didn't work, 80 deg. room. One bar of soap for sink and shower, one bottle of complimentary water and one package of one time use coffee, even though I booked the room for 2 people. The only good thing about it was it was right across the street from Budget car rental.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No Parking"
The room was really clean the staff was not competent, the parking lot was unacceptable. we paid $30 per vehicle per day and there was even no room to park.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Maybe not suitable for students."
This hotel is very close to the LAX and car rental companies. Rooms are clean. You will not hear the noise from the airport. However, there're some bad news for the students like me. First, there's no free breakfast, the breakfast buffet is around $20 per person. Second, no free parking, $19 for one day parking. Third, no hot air even two days before […] Christmas, the air conditioner is controlled by the hotel, and they only provided cool air, however I can tolerate it or they will send me a blanket. It may be a good hotel for business purposes but I don't think it's better than a motel to me. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It was just enough for stay, but not worth for the money... May be it is costly because it is near to airport, but that should be the best reason for clean maintenance, which they are not doing... So its just okGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible service from Angel at front desk"
I requested a king sized bed. When I arrived, there where no king beds available - only double beds. Not very romantic for a romantic getaway. Then the service from Angel at front desk was HORRIBLE. He had a take it or leave attitude when no king beds were available. That really got me upset. It will be hard for me to book another stay through hotels.com […] for Four Points at Sheraton. "Expected more fro a Shereton property"
The room was less that expected from a Sheraton. The bathroom door was warped and would not close, the thermostat malfunctioned in the middle of the night and heated the room to 80 degree baking the room. The coffee maker was broken in the room and would not work. When I asked the staff what they were going to do to make up for a horrible night, they […] said that maybe that could get me a cup of coffee. Not a very positive experience. "short stay"
When we arrived the staff was very friendly and super efficient in checking us in. The lobby inviting and I thought that cleanliness would carry into our room. That was not the case. The toilet had not been flushed from the previous occupant, the floors looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed, there were boogers wiped on the walls. We were traveling […] with small children so we armed with cleaning supplies and took care of the issues ourselves - except the vacuuming. "Never again"
1st the access was through an Exit door off from the lifts. 2nd, the room had all it said, but in MINI size. if I had a suitcase, no place to put it. 3rd, the tiny bathroom did not have windows and the bulb was burned. I was too tired at midnight to call housekeeping and used the light in the pantry for accessing the bathroom. 4th and worst was that […] the only window for the room was on a corridor giving the feeling of a prison, and with no privacy as window had only transparent curtains, with all the disturbance from traffic from the corridor and outside the corridor (which had all glass to the outside). A room like a road side motel for USD 29.99 not something from a Sheraton. Fifth, the furniture and the linens though clean were old and overused. Not a hotel I would return to, and next time I spend the night at LAX will call the hotel first as obviously the room I was given must be for temporary staff. I recommend that Expedia clearly identifies this room as motel type, lower standard than a roadside Quality or Comfort Inn. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Late night check-in problems"
Booked this hotel because it was close to LAX and right across the street from our rental car return. When my wife and I arrived shortly after midnight, exhausted from a fun day with our adult son, I was shocked and surprised when the desk clerk said he had my hotels.com reservation, but that they had NO ROOMS currently available and that they were […] cleaning a room for us that would be ready in 30 to 40 minutes!! When I asked how this could be possible, he just shrugged and offered me a free drink at the bar--which I declined. My wife was ready to walk out, but I calmed her down, saying that we might not get a room at all in another hotel. We sat patiently in the lobby and indeed a room was ready in about 30 minutes. The desk clerk gave us a $30 voucher for breakfast in the morning, but we were leaving before the restaurant even opened, so we used about $10 of it at 5:30 am at the all night coffee shop. We got to bed at 1:00 am and had to get up at 5:00am to catch our flight, so we were quite exhausted the next day, partly to blame on the hotel not having a room ready for us on arrival. "Cleaning at 12:30 AT NIGHT"
I had stayed at this hotel before with great results, but that was not the case for round two. My husband and I arrived very late and exhausted from traveling all day. We were greeted kindly at the door and proceeded to our room. I laid awake until 1:30 AM while I listened to the cleaning staff down the hall VACUUMING. I can understand when a hotel […] is booked and everything needs cleaned, however to top off our stay...we accidentally left a phone charger behind. We were only about 15 minutes away at our next hotel when we realized we were missing the charger...after 6 phone calls we finally gave up and never got the charger back (come on its a black phone charger...you are not going to get anything for it if you sell it).
