"Stay away from the Poughkeepsie Inn"
This experience was pretty bad and dare I say "scarey." I was actually worried to stay in the motel and almost opted to go down the road to the Holiday Inn Express. There was no one else staying there. My car was the lone vehicle in the parking lot. There was really no security and the location was pretty sketchy. "Death Trap"
During our stay, the hotel was reasonably clean and the staff was not an issue; however, we had a HUGE issue with the safety in the area. Firstly, there were no chain locks on the doors, a definite neccesity in the motel setting and area. During our one night stay, at 4:05am our door was beeing banged on and rattled by some blazing drunks. `This had to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I think it is part of a welfare housing group. It smelled terrible. When I made the reservation, I booked a room at the Poughkeepsie Inn. Sounded nice. When I got there, it was the old Econolodge, just rebranded. They haven't even replaced the sign. "wouldnt send my Mother In Law to this place"
Place has an Econolodge sign still out front, went inside and it smelled of mustiness. check in was simple although they hand you the remote for the TV. Room was plain and smelled like it hadnt been aired out in awhile. Vanity in bathroom was held together with duct tape. AC worked wonderfully though. TV had an econolodge logo that stayed on the screen […] for over 30 minutes no matter what button I pushed. next morning "Tried" to take a shower, show head was cracked and sprayed the ceiling and the drain was slow and I ended up standing in over 5 inches of water before I got grossed out and just gave up.
