I showed up super late to a really nice, friendly receptionist. My room was lovely and quiet. This hotel was GREAT for me and my travels. The morning breakfast was minimal, don't expect much and you won't be disappointed! Staff extremely helpful.

Just exceptional staff and facilities. We travel for business a lot and this hotel is truly a 4 star hotel with 3 star price. The location is right off the hwy 5, so you can get anywhere in Greater Portland fast.

This hotel is a a great hotel, the rooms were nice and clean, the pool was great. Parking was an issue the first night we were there and we were told to park at the bar next door...that was a little unnerving. The other nights we were "in" early enough we were able to park at the hotel. The breakfast room was way too small! Every time we tried to go […] to breakfast there was a line out the door to get food and no hopes of finding a place to sit, so it is either haul food back to your room Mr don't eat. We were not happy to find out that the only staff member on duty for the hotel was a trainee. Every time we needed something for our room, he would have to leave the front desk unattended to bring us what we requested. This made us wonder how safe it was to stay there when anyone could have come in the front door while it was unattended and follow someone […] up to their room. I was disappointed with the Holiday Inn Express. Each morning, the eggs at breakfast were extremely salty. They tasted as though the cook had dumped an entire box of salt in each batch. Usually I really like Holiday Inn Express, but my stay at this hotel was terrible. We checked in at exactly 3pm. Even though we had reserved a non-smoking room, our room smelled heavily like smoke. Since my wife is pregnant and we were traveling with young child, this was not acceptable to us. We asked the front desk staff if there was anything they […] could do, and they said "sorry" and that we were stuck staying in that room. The night was miserable because our room smelled so bad. There was a lounge area outside our room that was very noisy at night so we couldn't even open our window for ventilation. The next morning we explained our issues to the front desk staff, and they were much more friendly than the afternoon crew. They said that the manager would call us, which she never did. And she did not respond to a call from me the next day. I realize that our stay was probably worse than most. If we had a different room I'm sure our stay would have been much better. I was very disappointed in the room we had, the unfriendly attitude of the afternoon front desk staff, and the lack of response from the manager. Generally it was fine, and pretty quiet. The heat/cool controls in the room were hard to manage. The TV channel selection was better than in many hotels, but still not great. The breakfast was OK.

The bed was very comfortable. The only odd thing is that they have the card that says to hang up the towels if you want to re-use them, so I did, but they gave me new towels anyway. Maybe I didn't hang them in the right place? If not, it should be more clearly marked.

We stayed for two nights at the hotel with our three kids, ages 7, 5, and 2. During this time housekeeping didn't clean our room at all. (Also, the room wasn't particularly clean when we checked in, dirty soap tray in shower, no vacuuming around edges of furniture.) When I told the front desk about it, they apologized, but all the housekeepers had gone […] home for the day. By the time we checked out the bathroom floor was piled high with dirty towels ( I went and got more) and the garbage cans were overflowing. Our toilet was plugged, and I was told that maintenance had left for the night, and then handed a plunger. Breakfast was mediocre, with warmed over greasy stuff and little debbie type pastries. While this hotel might be in the Portland area, it is still a good ten miles from anything in downtown. Traffic noise was noticeable, but not bad. The pool was good. Beds were comfortable. Read more

We were travelling to the Portland area for a quick vacation. With a 5 and a 6 year old, some space in the room is a must. The room was really large, the beds super comfortable, it has a small fridge and microwave in it, the bathroom was very clean and the tv was a nice escape for the kids while we relaxed. This is a sharp, new place that seems to be well run, and is right off I-5. Very clean and nice with up to date amenities, with a gas station and restaurants in the same parking lot--very handy! we were very happy with the hotel, my wife uses a wheelchair and it was by far the best setup we've had to date in Portland. the cost was a little more than others, but well worth it. it is right off the freeway, so only 10 minutes from downtown and plenty of shopping around.
