"Nice Hotel - Not so nice a Location"
The Hotel and staff we very nice, and everything was clean and well kept. The only drawback was the location. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is within walking distance to the hotel, and to get to any of the Major attractions in Boston requires a unique series of twists and turns. "Pleased first-timer"
This was our first time staying at a Wyndham and was very impressed. Facility was high quality in appearance, service, and amenities. Had assistance transporting luggage to room which for the reasonable room cost is something we have not seen anywhere else. While the neighborhood looks a bit rough, it was conveniently located near Boston-Logan, shopping, […] and restaurants, and we had no problems. "Nice hotel in a not so great location"
Overall the hotel was nice on its own. The room was quality, the cleanliness was good, the pool was small, but you can't expect a large one for an indoor pool, and I felt safe inside. The surrounding area was not horrible, but I didn't feel that safe outside, especially at night with 5-10 minute walks from the train stop or bus stop. There was a free […] shuttle that was offered that left the hotel every half hour from 4am - 12am to the airport and airport subway station, so that was nice. It takes a little longer to get picked up, unless you are lucky. As mentioned earlier, you can walk to the regional train station (about 5 minute walk), which runs every 30-90 minutes depending on time of day, or to the bus stop (about 5 minutes to go into the city, or about 10 minutes coming from the city), which runs more frequently. You would have to get the shuttle to take the subway. Once you get on any of those forms of transportation it pretty much takes no more than 20 minutes to get to downtown Boston. If you plan on driving into Boston there is a $3 toll one way each time you head into the city, and we never tried it, but I'm sure you'd have to pay a lot to park. "Diamond in the rough (literally)"
The Wyndham Boston/Chelsea Hotel was very nice on the inside. The surrounding area was a bit sketchy, but once inside the Hotel it was well maintained. One recommendation I'd have is to utilize the FREE Airport shuttle to the Airport & catch the Subway there (Blue Line) to get downtown. "Stay Away from the Wyndham Chelsea"
This hotel is advertised as being near the airport and it is not, nor it is close to Boston. Hotel is generally a disappointment, even for the rate. Do yourself a favor if you're in Boston for pleasure, find a nice hotel that is truly by the airport (less than 0.5 miles away) or even better, in Boston. There was absolutely nothing redeeming the Wyndham […] Chelsea - no free breakfast, no friendly hotel staff, the free internet service was so slow that it barely worked, the shuttles to/from the airport, while free, were constantly delayed and the drivers were usually rude. The night we checked in was a disaster, they told us our room was 640, go up there, keys don't work, go back down and get new ones, go back up to 6th floor, keys don't work, call down to front desk, someone eventually comes up, his key doesn't work, he goes back down, eventually comes back up, we were actually supposed to be in room 540. "Boston Airport"
The neighborhood is dodgy but there is a huge supermarket right across the street. The hotel itself is very nice. The weak link is reliance on the hotel shuttle to the metro (T) and airport. "Wyndham in Chelsea"
We enjoyed this motel. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. A very good Italian restaurant right next door that you can walk to. The only part that you can have problems with is transportation.. It is a 10 - 15 minute very bumpy ride in a van from the airport to the hotel. You have to use this shuttle every time you want to take the subway into Boston. […] You have to catch the subway at the airport that takes you right into Boston. So coming and going you have to wait on the shuttle van. Some times it can be 20 minutes. "Quick Access to Boston"
We were very pleased at this hotels proximity to Boston, we were able to get into the city in 5-10 minutes, the only downside was $3 toll every time we went over the bridge. The neighborhood did not have too much going on, but there was a nice grocery store and dunkin donuts pretty much across the street and we did not feel unsafe. This hotel was so much cheaper than the rest in the area and we chose it because of the free parking, so we weren't sure what to expect. Wow! Had a great time. The hotel was in a bussiness section. There was a large grocery store across the street from the hotel where we could buy food and drinks which we did. Would have been nice to go down to the lobby and poor a cup of coffee. There was coffee available in our room that I could make myself though. "Good price, not that great location or service"
We called the hotel as soon as we landed for the shuttle service they provide. Another phone call and 1 hour later they picked us up. That was irritating waiting that long and having to call them twice. The room was very nice but the A/C unit was very loud at times and kept waking me up in the night. El hotel esta bien para viajar con coche, si quieres visitar Boston y alrededores. Las habitaciones son comodas y limpias. Si no hay trafico se tarda 10 minutos en llegar a Boston.
