"Lots of noise from street. Rooms need maintenance"
The hotel is on a busy street and ALOT of noise from the street made it difficult to sleep, especially with a baby. At first it seemed so loud that I thought the window was open, but it wasn't. Just seems like thin windows that don't keep sound out. Bathroom door lock was busted, and seems like it's been that way for a while. "Not up to par"
I typically like Sleep Inns and have stayed at this location before but it's gone downhill in service and quality. The fan in the bathroom was very loud and there were holes in the ceiling where the fan was...looked like leak in ceiling. Every night I had to get keys to room rekeyed...I travel every week and this hasn't happened any where else. Also […] had to request towels two of my four nights since my room wasn't cleaned. "Tight wads only"
If you could care less how the staff treats you or that you could be accosted by other guests at check-in? Then by all means stay here. However, if you are doing New Orleans french and bourbon areas, stay as close to there as you can. "Don't go there."
The room was clean, but the room had a godawful smell. The oder smell like mouse droppings or urine. The bedding had cigarette burns on it. The alarm clock didn't work. The room was small, a single person can be comfortable, but not for a couple.Genuine Expedia guest review
The check in process was a nightmare. The clerk was having major computer issues. There was big light shining directly into our window. The shower was leaking water everywhere and my wife complained about there being only one mirror in the room. Our plane got in after 11:30. I calledthe hotel and they said no shuttle after 11. Taxi costs 16.00 to go a mile. Room was very small but ok except it had a very strong smell like disinfectant coming out of the ac unit. It was almost overwhelming. Didnt report it cause it was after 1:00am by this time. "Management misleading."
When we first arrived we made shuttle reservations for 12:00 pm to go the the port on Sunday morining per the managers suggestions and approval. When Sunday came around we asked at 9:00 am about the shuttle to the port and they said the only shuttle going out is to the airport. We asked when we were going to be informed and they did not have an answer […] for us. We had to share a taxi between another group. We had to fit 5 adults, 5 large suit cases and 3 carry on bags in the taxi cause the driver was only making one trip cause of the Saints game. We had to squish, and clean out the trunk to make 4 of the suitcaes fit and the large one was on our laps and the carry on bag were also on our laps. We were not please with the service. Clean, attractive, nicely appointed; staff accommodating; elevator was not working well on my visit but apparently this was a very recent issue. A request for medical supplies refrigeration was met quickly and courteously. This is a good, clean place to stay near the airport, pretty good access to the CBD although about a 30 minute drive.
