Receptionist wasnt very friendly on check-in, wasn't very knowledgable about surrounding area but did change our room from a bottom floor to top floor after I showed her our paperwork specifying top floor only room. There was vomit in the elevator from the night we checked in till the time we checked out but the day receptionist said she would take […] care it after we complained a second time. Overall, room was clean, king size bed was most comfortable, and the coffee was good. The hotel was easy to find, and close to our destination. The service was very good here. The people at the front desk were very helpful. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The room was as expected. No majors issues with the room at all. Some minor issues were a touch of mold near the shower, stain on the comforter, bed was a bit uncomfortable, and for some reason it seemed like the carpet had some moisture […] in it. I'm always a little worried about the "budget motel" chains ... quality varies widely ... but this one on Morgan Avenue in Evansville was very good. The location was not really prime. It's in a somewhat spotty commercial area that fronts on a bleak industrial area right across Morgan Avenue. ButI wasn't trying to impress anybody, and I knew the area […] was safe. It passed the first inspection (no sign of bedbugs ... you'd be surprised how many even top-name hotels have failed that one!) Once I moved in, the bed was comfortable, they had apparently done a good job of enforcing their "no smoking" rule, and shower worked consistently and well. No sign of anything falling apart or "growing" in neglected corners in the bathroom that I've run across in some other properties in this chain. One rude surprise, when I realized that I had a room right down at the end of the hall, was that the door from the outside of the building apparently could not be opened with the key card ... a real disappointment, as that would have made access to my car a lot easier, and made trips through the lobby unnecessary. When I had a question about directions to downtown, the person on duty waas slow to get to the desk, but once her realized I needed help he was very courteous, knowledgable, and helpful. I did not try their complimentary breakfast offering in the morning, preferring to get some real food under my belt before a long day's drive in the rain. All in all, though, this was a good experience for the price, and I would definitely stay here again (although of course if there were a lady involved in my overnight plans I would opt for something a lot more upscale). Over all we were very pleased with our stay at the Super 8 Evansville East. I do have just one comment to pass along ~ Amazingly, a severe thunderstorm passed through the area at approx. 6 AM ~ complete with tornado sirens! Needless to say we were very concerned ~ so we sat in the hotel lobby throughout the storm. Super 8 was close to everything we wanted to do for the night, 2 miles from Roberts Stadium, only minutes from downtown, I would recommend UNITY taxi cab if your going to be traveling by taxi, Thanks hotels.com for a great night

If you are looking for an up-scale hotel at a cheap price ... keep looking. If you are looking for a place to rest your head after a day of traveling/activities at an OK price, you've found your place. Hotel was easy to find and check in/out was a breeze. The scent of OdoBan (a strong deodorizor) was present in the lobby when I arrived. Not sure if […] it was to cover a smell or just give it a fresh smell. Traveled with my mom and she thought our room smelled bad, but I didn't. She said it was better after turning on the AC. I think she meant the room was stuffy. Hotel was fairly quiet at night. We slept well, but the beds were nothing to brag about. Room and bathroom appeared to be clean and well maintained. Didn't get a chance to check out the breakfast, but there was a waffle iron on the counter. Hotel appears to be pet-friendly - we saw a lady walk out with a dog. There is a movie theater, an IMAX, and a game place right next door. Too busy with other activities to check them out, but they look nice from the outside. Read more

When we checked in and asked about the restaurants nearby the hostess said they were awful, we figured they couldn't be all bad there were plenty of cars in the parking lot so we braved the one closest to the hotel. It was nice, the food was good and decent prices. Plenty of TV's and video games to keep the kids happy. We rented 3 rooms, my brothers […] was a smoking room and he said it was pretty awful but was happy to be in it and smoking the other 2 rooms weren't too bad, cheap towels and could of been cleaner. I found old newspapers under the bed and a used shower cap in the bathroom. I did mention it and they were very apologetic and said they'd take care of it. Of course I waited till I checked out to mention it. This is still a decent hotel in a good location, and it met our needs at a great price. Read more

I don't spend my vacation in a hotel, so what I consider important is a comfortable bed, good air conditioner, cleanliness, especially in the bathroom, a convenient location, relatively quiet, and decent price. This Super-8 scored as follows: The beds were nice, a bit soft, plenty of pillows, and the bonus of fitted sheets. (Does anyone like flat sheets […] coming untucked and tangling with their feet in their sleep?) The AC was powerful and quiet. Cleanliness could have been better, with several hairs clinging to sheets and bathtub, but I've seen worse in other budget hotels and even some big name chains. The location is fine, assuming you are travelling by motor vehicle. The area is mostly shopping centers, chain restaurants, etc. There is an arcade next door and a movie theater across the street which would, for good or bad, interest any children in your party. The interstate into downtown Evansville is not far, driving is easy, and there is an excellent Greek restaurant about a mile away (Acropolis). In our stay, we had no noise issues with a room on the back side of the hotel close to what may have been a warehouse and well away from busy streets. Finally, the price was about what you'd expect for a Super 8, not as cheap as something farther out of town, but worth it for what we experienced. For those who care, the included breakfast was pretty standard: mini danishes, bread, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, self-serve waffle maker and mix, hardboiled eggs, and about a half dozen small tables in the hotel lobby. Stayed here several nights on way thru area. Check in was efficient. Room was clean. Noticed a few stains on box springs, could have easily been done by someone spilling their coffee. Not that bad. However we did not get maid service the next day. We asked for towels as serviced prompty and room was cleaned that next day. Breakfast was OK, although […] more cereal choices would be better. Was tired of waffles after a couple days. One complaint would be that coffee was not hot. Even when a fresh pot was brewed it was hot, but not piping hot as you'd expect for coffee. Hotel is across street from major movie theater. We were there on opening night of a blockbuster. We were late getting back to motel and theater parking lot was overflowing and we were lucky to find one remaining spot in the hotel lot. The room's features were good with the exception of the rotting of the tile in the bathroom. The lobby & hallway leading to the room was smelly like old tabacco.
