"overall not very impressed"
The exterior of the building looks very nice, it is about five stories and we found parking close to the door. We checked in around 2am due to my flight being delayed and the lady tried to tell us that we only had the room for 2 nights instead of 3. I immediately whipped out my phone and showed her my email confirmation, she said I would have to contact […] hotels.com, which I did and they called the hotel and fixed it quickly (thanks hotels.com!). Upon going to our room our key wouldn't work! After going back to the desk twice, the lady finally came up and tried it herself; needless to say it didn't work for her either so she put us in a different room.. Not exactly something I wanted to deal with at 3am! The room looks very nice at first and I was impressed when I walked in, it had a couch, recliner, king size bed, a jacuzzi, and a nice looking shower. After being there for a day or so we realized that there was candle wax stuck in the floor in multiple spots, a couple of the lamps didn't even have lightbulbs, the shower door leaked water, and the jacuzzi jets stopped working on our last day!! Also housekeeping did not come to our room at all, so I had to phone for more towels because I was using them all to soak up water from the leaking shower! "This place is a "dump"."
Filthy, my daughter was walking around in white socks in our room and they were black when she took them off. Service was horrible. Lady at front desk acted like she had better things to do. Arrived late. Room had no pillows, no hair dryer, no ice bucket, and the phone did not work! Staff did try to help, but was very inconvenient. "This was a nice hotel but the staff was very poor"
The staff was all in the lobby watching the Whitney Houston funeral. My room was not ready until after 4pm. The bed looked a mess. My 8 year old makes up her bed better than that. Front desk staff seemed more interested in watching TV in lobby than helping guests. The TV remotes did not work to control the TV. The room was dirty and nasty. The hallway smelled horrible. The room smelled like smoke and it was supposed to be a nonsmoking room. It was some sticky stuff all on the floor. The lamp shades were dry rotted. There was no comforter on the bed. Only a sheet on top a blanket in the middle and another sheet on the bottom. I would never stay in a Baymont again, especially this one. Story too long to report, but suffice to say after 3 room changes we left the hotel to pay double for a Hampton Inn. And that was worth the money. This place needs to be inspected and cited for violations. This was my third time staying at Baymont, and I must say I did not enjoy my stay this particular time. The room wasn't clean, it smelled like smoke, and the carpet was dirty (which was very noticable). Upon arrival we didn't have any face towels and the next day when housekeeping showed up I informed them about the room not being stocked with towels. […] They said they were coming back to clean and stock the towels. They came back only to drop the towels off. They did not clean the room at all. They didn't even empty the trash, and on this visit I had my 9 month old baby with me, which meant I used pampers and wipes that were emptied into the trash.
