"Lacking in some key areas"
We stayed for three nights. When we got into the room we noticed a damp feel in the air. Didn't think much of it because we were fairly close to the ocean and the room had been locked up with no ventilation. Hit the AC and it dried out soon enough. Tried to use the chain to lock the door- apparently the dampness has rotted the wooden door frame because […] the chain literally fell out of the wall and into my hand when I picked it up. Following morning there was water all over the bathroom floor. We have no idea where it was coming from- a slow leak, obviously, but it didn't seem to come from any one place. It wasn't threatening to flood us or anything so we ignored it. Turned on the tv so my kids could watch cartoons and a small brown roach ran across the screen. There was a sign in the bathroom with a list of amenities that they would bring to your room on request. I forgot my razor and decided to call for one. The young lady who answered told me she had them but would not bring it to me because she was the only one there. She told me I had to come get it. None of these things by themselves were really a big deal, but when you put it all together it is rather annoying. I do have to say that the microwave and refrigerator were a plus. "not worth the savings"

"quite close to Legoland"

"Not really pet friendly and poor amenities"
It was a terrible experience. We chose the hotel because it was pet friendly but that wasn't quite true. We checked in very late and although our reservation said we had a pet, we didn't see the sign that said we had to show the pet nor were we asked to We tolerated the lack of amenities such as a coffee pot with no coffee packets in the room, not enough […] of the thin scratchy towels, soft saggy bed and finally a sink that wouldn't drain as we knew we would hardly be in it with so many activities planned. However on our third evening it was unforgivable to come back to the room at ten at night with a note posted on the door to go to the front desk. The sink was not fixed the towels not replenished nor bed made,to be told we were being kicked out as our dog was too large and we had been placed in a room that was not to have animals in it. This hotel was convienent and price affordable. Really the only thing I didn't like was that the room we stayed in smelled horrible. I think it was probably a smoker's room previously and was changed to a non-smokers room. It smelled horrible. "It was adequate"
For what it was it was ok. If your looking to have breakfast before you head out, you'd better get there early. I got there at 9:30 ( breakfast was till 10 ) and everything was gone. "Great place for the price"
The hotel was better than expected for the price. As someone mentioned before, the bath towels weren't especially big, but that didn't bother us. The free breakfast is good, waffle maker, hard boiled eggs, on top of the usual coffee and muffins. Place was clean and quiet. "Super 8 Oceanside - a place to crash for the night"
It was okay. This is exactly the kind of place you go to when you just need a place to sleep for the night (We were there to go to Legoland for the weekend). Given its proximity to Legoland, the price was decent considering all the higher rated hotels were asking ridiculous prices just because they were closer. "Not a winner"
This hotel has not been well maintained. The carpet was old. The bathroom has not been updated in at least 10 years. There was trash left on the upper ledge of the shower. The breakfast was sparse. I was impressed with the comfort of the bed. The outside bedding was old. As we walked up the back stairs we saw 15 or more discarded matresses and boxsprings. […] I would not recommend this hotel. "Super 8 Oceanside"
We had reserved a non-smoking queen room, but upon arrival they only had smoking in queen (which is unacceptable, as we have 2 little babies). They did upgrade us to a non-smoking king room, so it ended up working out. The room was ok, the carpets were stained as well as the towels, but after requesting clean towels, they were sufficent. I just had […] to make sure my family was wearing their shoes around the room at all times. There was some loud-yelling altercation between guests a few rooms down, which kept us up until 6 am the first night, but the second night was peaceful so I am assuming that was a random incident (and the front desk did try to get them to be quiet multiple times).
