Oakhurst Lodge

PROS: Oakhurst is a great little town, really close to the entrance of Yosemite. The hotel looked cute from the outside, receptionist was nice, let us check in early. CONS: Never mentioned the breakfast, when or where it was served. No book with hotel/area info or phone book in the room. The bedspreads were filthy, the sheets were unwashed and unmatching, […] one bed had two top sheets no mattress pad, the other had unmatching sheets, patterned-not hotel stock, the wrong size for the bed. The pillows and mattresses were badly stained as was the sink, shower and toilet. No soap, only two towels and two handtowels for the 3 of us. No cups or icebucket/trashbag liners. The TV itself was nice, but the reception left much to be desired. We figured out the breakfast on our own, but couldn't get near enough through the crowd to get more than a bowl of dry cereal, there was no milk, and two cups of very watered down oj. It is a motel, not hotel. There were no soaps or shampoos. The door was open when we checked in, which makes us wonder who else used the room prior to our arrival.

Lock on the door of my room was incorrectly installed. and the night latch locked by itself and took staff an hour to open my door from the outside further examination reveled that the latch had been installed in at least three different areas of the door where the door. The mattresses were way past there useable life. Miss matched tile in the bathroom consitent with some sort of repair. The linoleum in the bath was just wrapped up the wall and no baseboard molding was used.Then there were of holes in the linoleum where it transitions to the wall. Big stain on the carpet from, well who knows. Strange odor in the room. Heater and a-c worked good and they was good water pressure for the shower. T.V. worked good. Free WIFI with password from the front desk. A recently installed camera that watched the hall in front of my room. Summary if you frequented a Motel 6 or have had the pleasure of staying in pre-ww2 military housing you will probably be familiar with the accommodations here. Read more

Our stay was not at all what we had planned. The whole facility was old and not clean. Our sink and tub did not drain, the pool was green, the whole facility was way outdated and dirty. If there were any other hotels nearby that had availability I would have gladly gone somewhere else and not gotten the refund, that's how bad it was, but everywhere […] was booked. They de-activated our keys and gave our room to someone else the second day and housekeeping never even came to our room. We arrived in the lobby for our "free" breakfast 45 min after it had started and they were already out of almost everything. The staff was extremely nice but I couldn't wait to check out. Had we only spent a small amount on the room I would have expected these conditions but the rates were well more than they should have been. I will never let anyone I know make the mistake of staying in this hotel. Read more

Worst hotel stay ever. Check-in was ok, thoguh computer was down, then downhill from there. Room key never worked. When return the second night from days activities, kept telling me that I never checked in. From that point forward each return night they said I checked out, ever though stay was for seven nights paid in advance. They actually took my […] stuff out of room (although they didn't clean it. When talked to front desk, they apologized then asked for credit card to pay for rest of my stay. That is unacceptable. In the room, it was run down. One garbage can in room, none in bathroom. When room was cleaned, three times in seven night stay, less towels no bath mat, no emptying of trash. There was other stuff and I don't want to be nit-picky, but ugh. I checked in to the hotel and noticed stool left in the toilet despite the toilet seat being banded to indicate that it had been cleaned. I had paid for two nights and confirmed this. The next morning I left at 5 am and took my things but left beer in the fridge to enjoy after my hike from half-dome. When I returned at 11pm, there was another guest […] in my room. I was eventually placed in another room. The next morning, I was told that since I hadn't left any belonings in the room, they had assumed I just left. I asked about the beer and the cleaning person said that they had looked in the fridge and there was no beer present. The management did not question there staff further. There were plenty of open rooms and there was absolutely no reason to assume that I would not be coming back to my paid room, whether or not I had left anything in the room. I will not be returning. Short of towels, wash clothes. Blankets were dirty, coffee cups and drinking glasses were missing no plastic in ice buckets, ice machine next to room was broken. Breakfast room was too small for crowd. Dirt outside door. Would not stay here again.

Room had not been vacuumed in a long time. Counters had old spilled coffee, stirrers, etc. on them and had not been even wiped down. Fridge was frozen and required me to defrost it before I could use it. No microwave though we were advised it would have one. AC barely blew air - I fixed it myself by pulling the pre-filters out and washing them. They […] were completely compacted with dirt/dust. AC worked thereafter but the drain outside was not functioning properly which caused the AC to dump its water all in front of the entrance door. Alarm clock had residual something all over it. Took the sanitizing clothes to it. Room smelled horrible! No, it was worse than that!! Two of the lights over the sink were burned out. The two that worked were filthy. Carpet was visibly dirty and in desperate need of shampooing at a minimum. Bath tub had not been cleaned at all and had a dark black ring around it that I, again, had to clean before I would put my daughter any where near it. I needed to reset the TV and then program it so it would work. Yea, I know, we aren't there for TV but we had a sick child and needed a distraction for her from time to time. Just added to the disgust. Coffee pot had "something" on the outside of the maker. No way in hell I would have used it anyway, based on the rest of the room, but disgusting!!! I am not one to complain, in fact, I think this is the first time I've ever reviewed anything. For the price I paid, this is easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed at hundreds. Actually, this is the worst hotel I've seen at any price! The wi-fi DID NOT work at all and the room was dirty with stains on the floor and discolored and […] frayed towels. Light bulbs were out, coffee maker DID NOT work and shower pressure was the worst I've ever experienced. Their breakfast was also extremely POOR... the orange juice tasted like water and was almost clear, and the coffee was the same way... more like warm light brown water. The staff was OK, but when I related my disappointment they were unsympathetic... obviously they were used to people complaining about the property. After reading the reviews - albeit mixed - about this place, I thought I would give it a shot on our way to Yosemite. The rooms looked and felt dirty. The pool water was murky. I try to keep an open mind but this place was really gross. On the positive side, the staff is really nice.

Definatily made our list of the top 2 or 3 worst hotel experences ever. Creepy environment, not clean and a really bad bed. We did finally identify the smell as an unfortuniate encounter with a skunk, very near our room REALLY. The best part was leaving.

Et hotel af ringe kvalitet og stand. Ved indchekning af 2 x dobbeltværelser, virkede aircondition systemet ikke på den ene værelse, og værelset måtte ombyttes. Håndvasken på det nye værelse var tilstoppet og ved opskylning af skjorte i badekaret, viste det sig at dette også var tilstoppet. Receptionen var nu lukket... Ved brug af toilet på begge værelser […] senere på aftenen var begge toiletter helt tilstoppet, og kunne derfor ikke skylle ud... ikke særligt behageligt. Besøg i swimmingpool måtte droppes idet vandet var uklart og meget beskidt. Morgenmaden var så mangelfuld, så begge værelser valgte at krydse gaden og betale for et normalt morgenmåltid. Selvom dette hotel kun har 2 stjerner, var det under lavmålet. Read more

Die Zimmer sind eine Zumutung und riechen sehr unangenehm. Wurden wohl notdürftig und lieblos renoviert. Einziger Vorteil war die Lage. Wenn nichts anderes in der Nähe zu bekommen ist, lieber eine längere Anreise in Kauf nehmen.
