I was concerned about being so far from the action, but when i arrived at the hotel i was very pleased with the location. My wife and i enjoyed the stay. The beach is much nicer and alot cleaner. Some remodeling going on did not effect us, hotel was pretty nice. Their gift shop was not stocked. Staff for the most part was accomidating but a little cheap when it came to giving out popcorn during the movie that was playing in the rec room. Pool was warm, views were great.

First of it appears that this is a timeshare that us also using some of its rooms as a hotel. It is not a resort by any means and ther than having a Bach front anda pool, it has no other amenities that would qualify it as a resort. We were told that the room woud have a beach view bu I only had a partial few f the beach, the full beach view being reserved […] fr timeshare owners! Great location - they are going through renovations at this time, so it was a bit dusty. Check out is 10am which is a little early in by book. Liked that the bedroom had no windows - was nice to sleep in!

I was not informed by either Hotel or Hotel.com at time of booking that the hotel was under major renovation. I arrived late at nite and the only person at front desk was upset that security guard had not shown up and they had called her in...after she finished with her calls..apprarently had had a fire alarm go off, I was finally given the keys but […] it did not leave a good feeling about the stay. The location was great, you could walk directly on the beach from the pool area. There was some construction but it didn't cause any problems. The room was clean and well stocked with towels,kitchen utensils, and even a washer-dryer.

These are beautiful condos. Full kitchens and great views. Love the easy access to the beach and wonderful pool. The whole facility is clean inside and out. The are adding more receational activities like volley ball and basket ball. All in all great place for a great price. We will return.

I read all the reviews prior to booking on Expedia. I wanted to add to the reviews because our visit on Thursday, August 9, 2012 was "WONDERFUL"! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quite atmosphere for family. It's not a party place and that is a BIG PLUS. The staff was excellent, the room was beautiful with a fully stocked kitchen and the bathroom […] was beautiful with a huge walk in shower and a wonderful garden tub. Towels and beach towels were provided. There was washer & dryer, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, electric stove, ice box, dishwasher and alarm clock. All you need to do is bring your food to cook. We had room W24 - second floor with perfect Beach Front View. We arrived early before noon (check in was 4:00) but they had our room ready in 45 minutes (yeah). The sign on outside of Hotel/Condo says "Escapes", but booked it was "Galveston on Gulf Resort", guess under new management. The lady at the front desk was so friendly and helpful, she deserves a BIG STAR. The only thing I would want changed is the mattress, it was not comfortable for my bad back. To us this is a 5 STAR RESORT. The beach was very clean not crowded like the seawall. It had a long boarded walkway for easy access to the beach. WE WILL BACK. Read more

We had an awesome stay. This place is great for families as all rooms offer a full kitchen, very nice pool area and immediate beach access! Most rooms feature ocean views. There is even a handicapped pool chair. The only downsides are as follows: the pool is not for small kids as there is no kiddie pool and the most shallow area is 3.6 feet. Right on the beach. Away from the most congested areas it was worth to drive a couple of extra miles. The beach was way cleaner than other beaches in Galveston. Located on West beach with direct access to the beach, no sea wall with five lanes of traffic to cross in order to walk to the beach. It's just a mile or two past where the sea wall ends, so it’s close to Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens. The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating. Our family had a great time! The beach was wonderful, not rocky at all. We only stayed two nights, which was not long enough. We plan to return next year and hope to stay at this resort again. I looked at other hotels where you had to cross the street to get to the beach and I am so happy we went with this hotel as the beach is right there!!

The location of the condo was perfect for us. A short distance from the main Seawall area, away from the heavier traffic and people, but very convenient to stores and the state park entrance. I had two kayaks strapped on my truck throughout our stay. Even though they were locked with a steel cable, I felt much safer here than at the main hotels on Seawall. […] very private parking lot with no foot traffic around like the Seawall hotels. The facility is clean with good access to the pool and beach. The suite was comfortable with the appropriate amenities. The TV sets are old and outdated but the channel selection was good. The tile in our unit was chipped in a couple of places and the floor looked like it needed sweeping the whole time. (even though it had been swept). We were surprised […] with a $115 hit on our credit card at check in. This was not spelled out in the listing. They promised to reverse it upon checkout. The boardwalk to the beach was closed for painting the Friday and Saturday that we were there. It was only available for use one day that we were there. Seems like they should have picked a less busy time other than the weekend. Since these are time share suites they do not offer maid service. The room, however was supplied with ample towels during our three day stay. All in all, we would return for a short stay. They don't allow pets so we would not book this facility for a whole week. Fantastic location and lodging for a relaxing stay right on the beach, which is rare in Galveston. No 'across the street' stuff - it's at the end of the seawall. Only disappointment was the 10:00 am check out time. When you can't check in until 4 pm #earlier if they have your room ready#, check-out time at 10 am seems a bit extreme.

The resort is nice and room was fantastic. The beds were not comfortable and the sleeper sofa mattress was terribly uncomfortable. We had to sleep on the couch with the cushions because the sofa was so bad. Other than that, it was great.

We only stayed one night, but we plan to return for a longer stay next time. It is conveniently located right on the beach. You don't have to walk across a busy Seawall Blvd. to get to the beach. The accommodations were very nice and the staff was friendly, and also the entire facility was family friendly.
