I was impressed when I walked into the lobby but from there it goes down hill from there. Staff wasn't friendly or helpful... Food was ok... "great hotel poorly staffed"
Had numerous issues with check in and the fact that breakfast is only included for 2 per room and each additional one was $17 plus mandatory tip plus service charge. Feel completely ripped off. Was a great Hotel but I thought Expedia should have told us when the breakfast was being served. I ended up buying the breakfast included but could not have it for 2 days because there breakfast started at 630am and we had to be at work by 7am and didn't have enough time to eat and get to work. "My favorite place to stay when I'm in Reston..."

"Under renovation and NOT a pleasant experience"
I have stayed at this hotel on at least a dozen visits over the past couple of years because it is near work site. For the past 3+ months the first floor has been undergoing major renovation-- as in, plastic sheeting, sandblasters, ripped up carpet, temporary check-in desks, no centralized comfortable lounge area. They keep saying it will be a "few […] more weeks" until the project is complete... ha. Amazingly, they don't advertise this, nor do they discount the rooms to make up for the inconvenience. I hit my limit on this past visit when the TV in my room wasn't working for 2 days (1 call to the front desk was never picked up; the other, answered, evidently did nothing to resolve the issue); the breakfast room changed location yet again-- with no signage-- to a cramped room on the 14th floor; I got sawdust on my clothes walking through the lobby; and I couldn't get the wireless internet to work. This was on top of cumulative minor inconveniences from past visits. I complained at the front desk-- you couldn't pay me enough to be staff there during this crazy extended renovations-- and the gentleman kindly offered breakfast coupons and free wireless internet (see above; wasn't able to use either, sigh). So, I guess the moral is, if you do have to stay here, at least request a complimentary breakfast, internet, and Hyatt Gold Passport points. There was some jacked up cabinetry in my room, like someone did an incredibly bad fix job, so I hope their renovations will include rooms. Set in a parklike environment, this property was very calming following a hectic business day.
