I stayed here for two nights and had a decent experience. It's located in a good spot off the highway, near a mall and restaurants. The parking lot is a little confusing as you come in, you're actually in the back of the building. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was a little tight between the toilet and the door and a couple outlets […] in the room didn't work. But going downstairs to the bar and the restaurant, the staff was very nice and attentive. Not afraid to help in any way. The gym was nicely furnished although I wish that the pool was open earlier than 5PM. My only downside is that while I was in my room on the second day, someone was smoking in another room and the smell travelled through the air vents so I had to contend with that for a couple hours until it cleared. The hotel was fine, more suited to business than family. I booked it because it had a pool for the kids. Nowhere did it say that it didn't open till 3:00pm, ( 5:00 in the winter). (The pool area was none too clean and the lifeguard was very preoccupied). Also, in the workout room, two of the machines didn't work. My family and I were in the D.C. area for a wedding and chose the Hyatt Fairfax because of its location and because one of our children had stayed there a month earlier and said how nice it was. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and our stay. We loved the layout of our room. Instead of the 2 beds being next to each other they faced each other […] with the TV situated in between which gave more of a sense of privacy from the kids. The only complaints we have are that the shower/tub drained very slowly, to the point that while taking a shower the tub would be at least half full by the time you were done. The othe complaint would be that our room service order for breakfast was not picked up off of our door and my wife had to take it down to the front desk. Once given to the front desk the order was filled promptly and was delicious. In conclusion it was a very nice hotel for the price and I would not hesitate to stay there again. If you're planning of staying with kids be advised that the hotel pool hours are very limited, esp during the week. I enjoyed this hotel, so if there was a 4.5 rating it would apply. Nice room/suite layout with King bed and couch seating area, separated by counter upon which the TV swiveled to face either direction. Clean, but slightly dated interior. Compact but fully functional. That the iNet is extra is a minor detractor. Several (four, I think) pricing options […] for either of business or pleasure to select from. Impression of hotel mgmt MBAs optimizing economic pricing curves that left impression of "extra cost outside of room rate". I selected the 24-hr (with up to two additional devices) business option, I think was $12.95. iNet support question couldn't be answered by front desk - they weren't familiar with login screen for second device [iPhone for w/less connect] that was ambiguous. Only needed the password provided with login on laptop, not to include a user id. Minor matter that was clarified by the 800 support on Long Island, NY. Very much enjoyed the Fairfax, VA location, restaurant, and lobby. Provided for a very comfortable business meeting and lunch. Great service at front desk and in the restaurant. The room I got was just a standard King. But the nice thing was that the outer room (with couch, chair, computer desk, etc.) was separated from the bedroom (bed, bathroom, etc.) by a large divider that the TV sat on. So whether you were in the living room on the couch, or in the bedroom on the bed, you could turn the TV to face any direction. Was a great Hotel but I thought Expedia should have told us when the breakfast was being served. I ended up buying the breakfast included but could not have it for 2 days because there breakfast started at 630am and we had to be at work by 7am and didn't have enough time to eat and get to work.
