"Great and inexpensive"
This really inexpensive hotel was great. I got in quite late, but the owner came out and was super helpful, making sure I got in my room okay. This hotel is not fancy, but basic is always good. "Simple pleasure"
We enjoyed our stay very much. We satyed two nights. We had to do shopping and other chores in Flagstaff, but wanted to relax during the evenings. Our room had a fireplace and a small balcony. It was nice to sit in front of the fire, sipping wine and listening to some nice music; or to start the fire early morning and climb back in to bed.The couple […] running the motel were very nice and everytime we saw them they would ask if there was anything they could do for us. The older gentleman chopped and brought wood to us both nights (we were on the second floor). Our room was large.The furniture is not brand new, but that was okay. "Who could have asked for more..."
While thinking of a perfect get away in Sedona for my girlfriend and I.I stumbled upon this Motel, and thought this could be fun,. I called to verify our mini Suite with fire place, and the Owners were TOP NOTCH. I expressed how I wanted to have something special in the room for my girlfriend and Management went above and beyond. They treated us as […] if we were royalty. They went above and beyond any expectation I could have had. My girlfriends face when we walked in went from happy, to complete awe. It was a priceless moment, and made it all mean so much more to me. It was our first time taking a trip together, and I truly wanted it to be perfect. Lorna and Sam are the nicest people. the morning we checked out, we went across the street for gas, as we were getting ready to pull away... Sam had ran all the way across the street to inform us that my girlfriend and I had left some personal belongings behind. He said they had it all ready for us at the office. Wow talk about service... I have stayed in some very expensive hotels in the past, but none can compare to the quality of service that Motel in the pines offers. "Stayed on a Sedona trip"
Place was nice. Owners were friendly and helpful. I had read some reviews about this place before choosing. I loved the location, right off the highway. Couple stores and a bar/resteraunt easy walking distance. Clean rooms. We got the deluxe with the outside patio, which was ground level and nice view of the woods. Only downsides, the wi-fi was out, […] owners apologized and explained some critters had been chewing on some wires. And the bathroom towels are indeed kind of small, but just ask for extra and things are fine. I will stay here again on my next visit to the area, I prefer small mom and pop kind of places to stay as opposed to national chains, and this place was a pleasant surprise. I LOVE the location, the people running the motel, the beds are so clean and it is quiet here. The pines are beautiful and Flagstaff and Sedona are close by. This motel was exactly what my family wanted. We had a little getaway to Flagstaff, and actually wanted to feel like we were in a more rural wooded area. This fit the bill! (Just 17 miles south of the city) All the hotels in Flagstaff proper seem to be cookie cutter chain places on the noisy strip...and frankly, who wants that if you're trying to get […] away from it all? Motel in the pines is NOT an upscale place with crystal chandeliers, fluffy towels and room service, so If you're a fussy type, I would skip it. The decor is a bit outdated here, and for us, that added to the charm! We cracked up about it, and loved every moment of our stay...especially the balcony, where you can look right into the woods; I can just smell those pines now! Our room was perfectly clean and everything was functional and in good repair. As other folks mentioned, the beds are firm; when we come back, we will bring our sleeping bags to lay on the beds for the cushiness we're used to at home, and we always bring our pillows when road-tripping. This was our 2nd stay at Motel in the Pines. It is incredibly inexpensive. It is not a modern motel but is clean and meets all our needs. The innkeeper is attentive and honest. Munds Park is a great base to explore Sedona, Flagstaff, etc. The only complaint I have is the beds are too firm...at least for me and my wife. A quaint littlerustic motel that is owner operated and convienent to some of northern arizonas unique scenery. IT wasn't as bad as the reviews we read, though it did need a new patio table and one of the bedspreads had a tear. the mattress was firm and the room was clean. We found it very comfortable and barely needed to use the AC and didn't need […] to have the heater on over night even though it got down in the low 40's. The motel was convienent to a nice pub/cafe and 2 convienece stores and close to the freeway. The view off our patio was of pine woods and a hillside. Mund's Park is situated in the Coconino National Forest, at 7000 ft. it is 17 miles south of Flagstaff, Snowbowl ski area, and a half an hour or so from Sedona.
