Booked this hotel without ever heard about it and had a most pleasant surprise. Was able to chek in early thanks to friendly Nick, who is most professional when dealing with guests. My only gripes is that it was a freezing cold day and we were promised hot chocolate from the "hot chocolate bar" at check in -- this was empty the three times we tried and the staff weren't so friendly about our requests to re-fill it! "The Palomar - Excellent!"
The Palomar in Philadelphia was an outstanding experience. I had a car which they valet parked, the check-in was easy (I even arrived early & my room was ready - nice) and the comfort of the room was perfect. I had a corner room which had 3 windows overlooking the street with some shade from neighboring trees. The staff was very helpful and friendly […] in all encounters. The evening wine reception was a nice touch and drew quite a crowd, but there was plenty of seating and room to mingle. We dined elsewhere but came back to the hotel for a nightcap and again had good service. On the day of checkout I had some errands to run so the hotel kindly kept my bags while I shopped and had lunch. When I arrived at the hotel to leave, the valet took only about 10 minutes to bring my car around. They were helpful with directions and again quite friendly. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very modern but tastefully done. The lobby is a little dark but all the other spaces were well-lit. In my room the bathroom lights were on a dimmer which was a nice touch. The location is great, within walking distance to Walnut Street and Rittenhouse Square. There are plenty of shops & restaurants and an awesome pilates studio right across the street. Overall I enjoyed a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone travelling to Philadelphia. I look forward to my next opportunity to go back and stay at the hotel again. This was a second stay at this property. I am a fan of the hotel for a couple of reasons. First, it is a fun, funky property in a city with many traditional hotels. Second, the location is perfect. Two blocks from Rittenhouse Square and its amazing urban scene, close to tons of great eateries and within walking distance of the train system and major […] tourist spots. Once word of caution: this is a pet-friendly hotel. If this is an issue for you I would recommend avoiding it. When we checked in for our last stay our room, while very lovely, had an interesting smell. I could not place it until later that night when I was walking through the lobby and saw someone walking their dog. It then hit me...the smell was "wet dog." The Hotel staff makes you feel quite at ease, right from the valet and door staff, to your front desk personnel. The room was ultra modern and spotless. Cool design and comfy bed.
