"Disappointing for an Aloft"

First have a room that wasn't clean. Second room thu have us had a dirty sink and dirty floors. The room smelled like cigarettes in a non smoking hotel. This hotel was one of the nicest I have ever stayed at. We were in town for a concert at the Wells Fargo Center, and this was one of the hotels recommended by the venue. We really enjoyed our stay at the Aloft Hotel near the Philadelphia airport...we wanted to spend the week end in the city and the price was worth it to stay out by the airport and either drive or take a taxi into town. I only wish that when we asked for a cab the first nite that they let us know that it was $30.00 each way. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stay that wouldn't break the bank and was a good place to stay with a car. Being that staying in the city of Philadelphia itself would have been costlier due to the location and obnoxious car parking fee's, aloft fit the bill for the most part. "Surprisingly dog friendly!!!! And a "Hotel" !"
Aloft was a modern, clean hotel, which was surprisingly dog friendly. You do have to bring your furry friend through the front or back door of the hotel and up the elevator. I actually stayed with my 2 medium sized dogs and toy dog. The acoustics are great. My dogs could not be heard and did not "hear" anyone in the hall. I had planned on dog daycare […] for them during one day, but forgot their vaccination records. They have door signs alerting the staff that a pet is inside. Drawbacks: next to highway, music is SUPER loud in the check-in area...I am surprised the front desk people can hear after an eight hour shift. It was not relaxing in the lounge adjacent to there due to the LOUD music as well. LOUD PARTY ATMOSPHERE in lounge at night, not appropriate for everyone, especially if you just want peace and quiet. No hot tub, but there was a swimming pool indoor. $7 per day parking charge. Expensive items available for breakfast/snacks. Curtains in room allow sunlight to come through the sides. I was not able to get a room at my first choice, Hotels .com suggested this and I was hesitant, I had only stayed at Wyndham or Hilton...I was so pleasantly surprised it was a very contemporary hotel with great design. "ALOFT - TONS OF FUN"
I love this hotel. I stay there everytime I come to Philadelphia. I love that they are so close to the airport. There is a free shuttle that runs every 20 minutes to and from the airport. Even though it is far from the city, you can catch the shuttle train at the airport and that takes you smack into downtown Philadelphia. The room is so cozy and sexy. […] I am in love with the shower. There is a shampoo and shower gel dispenser in the shower...and they smell so good. I never bring my shower gel because I love the open sea smell of their product. The bed is so comfortable. And the television is set up exactly for a lazy day in the bed. And that is exactly what I did. However, housekeeping did not come back after I woke up so my room never got cleaned. The only put-off is that you have to go downstairs and ask for ice.There is no ice machine on each floor.
