    Location.
    Situated in Philadelphia, North American Motor Inns is in the business district and close to Fairmount Park, St. Joseph's University, and Boathouse Row. Also nearby are Barnes Foundation and Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

    Hotel Features.
    Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Event space measuring 2500 square feet (232 square meters) consists of conference/meeting rooms, small meeting rooms, and banquet facilities. The staff can provide wedding services, event catering, and business services. Additional amenities include a concierge desk, multilingual staff, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Guest parking is complimentary, and available on a limited first-come, first-served basis.

    Rooms have city views. The 89 guestrooms at North American Motor Inns include air conditioning. Complimentary wireless high-speed Internet access is provided.     The motor inn is in a great location but the quality of the rooms are poor. The rooms are not disgusting or anything like that just not well maintained. The building has multiple leaks and stains in the ceilings from past leaks. The shower in my room didnt work, there was a big iron burn in the middle of the carpet. I was seriously concerned about bringing home bedbugs. Wireless didn't work and the person at the front desk was very rude when I called and asked about it.     TV, only one station. No news on TV. Elevator to parking garage required a keys making it inconvenient. I parked out front in parking lot and my was hit and will cost me my $250 deductible to fix. All and all I had an unpleasant stay.

    There was absolutely NO parking. The hotel said to park at the pizza place next store but be out by 10am or we'd be towed! We parked in front of someone else instead and they called us by mistake at 7am to move our vehicle! The heater barely worked and we were freezing all night!     North American Inns in Philadelphia is supposed to be easy to find on City Avenue. I was unable to find the locale and wound up booking a room in Germantown.

    I booked my hotel a month in advance. I drove in late at 1:00am to begin my 3-day stay only to be told that since I hadn't arrived by midnight they had given away my reservation. The reservation I had paid for in full one month ago... Additionally, they told me even if they hadn't given away my room, there is noone on duty at night who can take reservations. The […] hotel is also an utter dump. Cars are parked haphazardly in what can only generously be called a "parking lot." The service is unfriendly, and the entire place seems to exude a sense of shabbiness. I've stayed in hostels and hotels on 3 continents, and this is the worst experience I've had. Spend the extra $20 a night and just stay at a Mariott or Hilton. You'll thank yourself. Read more

    We needed basic sleeping quarters-in late/up early. For that it was appropriately priced. It is very convenient to PCOM and other nearby hotels were booked so it was adequate. Parking is very limited.

    Facilities are not the greatest, walls are not soundproof. However for the price of the room, it was worth it. Not to mention the staff are very helpful and cordial.

    The hotel is very convenient. Overall I enjoyed my stay and the price was right. Although I was locked out of my room by hotel management in error. Management mistakenly thought I had overstayed my reservation. After having to convince and prove to the manager of his error twice, he reluctantly admitted and never offered an apology to me for my inconvenience.     Good Nostalgic place to stay only problem is that the air conditioning and heat are on an old central system therefore you can't control the temperature. You can only turn it on and off.

    The hotel receptionist was very rude and unaccomodating... I had to speak to the manager just to get a nonsmoking room when that was what I booked in the first place. The elevator is very scary to ride in and only one elevator worked... The place is not well taken care of.

    This hotel was a disaster from the time we tried to pull into the parking lot. Which was the major problem with the hotel. They parking garage is under construction and there is no parking besides maybe 8 spots in front of the hotel, then these spots get blocked in by other guests and eventually you are parking on the sidewalk and illegally hopeing […] your car doesn't get towed or broken into in the less then decent neighborhood. On top of the parking issues the room was rediculous. There is no settings on the AC unit, just on or off and there was no iron or shampoo in the room, don't expect anything there, bring your own if you are forced to take advantage of the low price like I was. Otherwise don't stay here. On a positive note, the people working were very nice, courtious staff is the only reason I didn't complain about everything while I was there. Read more

    When I got to hotel the staff was asleep. There were a lot of in and out of guest. One guest asked if I needed company as I was going to my room on the elevator. When I was ready to take a shower there was no soap or shampoo. Spoke to staff and she said she would look into it and she never did. Spoke to the manager of hotel who was very rude saying […] that they donot provide shampoo and that I was basically lying about there was no soap in my room.
