    Situated in Philadelphia, North American Motor Inns is in the business district and close to Fairmount Park, St. Joseph's University, and Boathouse Row. Also nearby are Barnes Foundation and Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

    Hotel Features.
    Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Event space measuring 2500 square feet (232 square meters) consists of conference/meeting rooms, small meeting rooms, and banquet facilities. The staff can provide wedding services, event catering, and business services. Additional amenities include a concierge desk, multilingual staff, and a safe deposit box at the front desk.     The hotel was old and run down. The beds had two sheets and cover only and were not very comfortable. There seemed to be an on going problem with ice machine being empty.. I had to go next door and purchase a bag. I asked the woman at the desk if there was any ice in the basement and she told me she didnt know! Well i knew and the answer was no.

    The bed was not comfortable and there was insufficient bedding to provide warmth. It also had an unpleasant odor. In the bathroom there was nowhere to put anything down and there were only two towels. There was noise from other rooms. I would never return there.

    ok, the stay started alright. I had a bit of trouble with the TV and staff came quickly to show me what had to be done, and many have had the same lack of directions. I asked for a wake-up call, as the phone said 'dial 0' for this. I was told they don't do wake-up calls. There also was no radio/alarm clock, so I resorted to my cell phone alarm. I […] was awaken at 3 AM by a party starting up next door. My walls were vibrating like they were the speakers and it was very loud. I called the front desk and asked if they had any noise policy for 3 o'clock in the morning. I was told "no we don't," and not asked anything about why I might be making such a call at that hour. I tried to set the thermometer to a bit warmer than the room was...maybe low 60's. There was no adjustment, nothing to set. The switch that controlled the "maybe it's a heater, maybe it's an air-conditioner' turned it on, but it blew around the same cold air in the room. The shower faucets leaked so that there was no way to avoid a bit puddle on the floor as the water ran along the rim and fell to the bathroom floor. And there was no floor mat to soak it up, only one of my towels. The price was very good for the area, and the location was fine for me, but the hotel itself left much to be desired. Read more

    We had trouble finding the hotel and when we called for directions the woman couldn't explain where it was. The room was non-smoking, but reeked of smoke. We had a reservation for our trip back, but cancelled. The location was fine, but this hotel is really due for a major overhaul.

    When I walked into my room, food was all over the wall which I believe was old chilli. They moved me into another room in which the bed was dirty, no hot water, and the remote did not work.     The Hotel had a great location for the Philly Triathlon. However, our room A/C was not working properly. They never repair it or change us room. Really bad service. In any case, we just slept one night and worked for us (cheap and good location for our race).

    Not what I expected to encounter. The room was consider to be non-smoking but it smelled way opposite. There was a television but no cable. The water system was on and off. It was just overall not a good experience.

    I did not have internet access on my stay – the A/C did not work properly on the first night, next day I was able to switch rooms because on the a/c wasting time on my stay in Philadelphia.

    TV, only one station. No news on TV. Elevator to parking garage required a keys making it inconvenient. I parked out front in parking lot and my was hit and will cost me my $250 deductible to fix. All and all I had an unpleasant stay.

    This is a place that could really be great if the property owner just put some money into it; however, as is, it attracts the wrong crowd, is lacking in service and amenities (like air conditioning...thankfully we were there in spring!). My son referred to the experience of getting to the room as "sketchy". Once in our room, it was somewhat comfortable […] (spacious and comfortable beds), but the lamp by our bed stand didn't work, the room fan would only heat until management turns the boiler room off for the season, we didn't get any maid service the first day of our stay and the rooms smelled like cigarettes even though we were in a non-smoking room (this later turned out to be from the housekeepers that did eventually clean our room--apparently while smoking!).     Several problems. First the room was hot in the day and only had a built in wall fan with no way to adjust the temperature. Second, there was a wedding or party in the hotel and the music was loud till very late at night. Thrid the guests in the next room were extreemly loud and inapproprate. If my children would have been with me I would have had to […] leave. The water temperature in the shower was difficult to adjust and changed temperature randomly. The room was clean, the towels and sheets very white. There was WiFi and the TV worked which I appreciated. The biggest problem was the noise. I was in room 418. I suggest if you book rooms for guests not attending a scheduled party that you provide them with rooms on a higher floor if possible. Read more

    I was there Friday night and there was too little parking (it is an urban type location, without a large surrounding parking area. We parked two deep with the understanding I might get a call in the morning to move my car out so the fellow I was blocking could get out. There were function/party halls in the lobby so some crowds were for that. There […] was a dispute between the incoming and outgoing desk person which was a bit of a verbal fight - the armed guard in the lobby added a calming voice. This and the parking situation delayed check-in - and then I went up to a room that was already occupied. The staff is actually nice and helpful, but it was a rough experience. Again the room was pretty clean, good size, and fine. Hotel is priced quite low, so I don't expect much more than the soap, shampoo, and the nice towels which they did have. Read more

    My visit to Philadelphia was great despite the problems that came from the hotel. My first room was clean and mantained but the hot water in the bathtub did not work so I had to change rooms. They could not locate the iron board and iron when I requested it. I was willing to wait for it but it never showed and they stated that they could not find it. […] So I had to go to my event without ironing my clothing. When we returned to the hotel that night there were police in the lobby from a party reception that went bad. Also on the website they offer coffee in the morning but when I asked the front desk the next day where could I locate it they advised me that they don't provide it.     Requested a nonsmoking room, but apparantly rules are not enforced the whole floor smelled like smoke. Had to have housekeeping change sheets in one of the beds black hairs and lint debris in sheets. No soap and only 2 hand towels available to dry off with after shower, Hot water control knob leaked profusely.

    The staff seemed more concerned with socializing with one another than actually giving us the time of day. We had to ask the man at the front desk to call us a cab several times and ended up waiting in front of the hotel for an hour before finally haling our own cab. This in turn caused us to be late for our event, which was the entire point to our […] trip to philly. The rooms werent terrible for a one night stay, but they obviously make there money from events. About 4 or 5 seemed to be going on at time of arrival and lasted well into the morning because we could all hear the music blasting... From the fourth floor at that. If the staff and managment got there priorities straight and decided if they wanted to run a hotel or event venue maybe things would run a bit more smoothly, because as of now no one there seems to be able to multi task and the hotel is obviously being neglected.     We needed basic sleeping quarters-in late/up early. For that it was appropriately priced. It is very convenient to PCOM and other nearby hotels were booked so it was adequate. Parking is very limited.

    YOu have to steer clear of this horrific dive of a hotel. The only thing halfway nice is the exterior - once you're inside - look out. This is a one star lodging experience. I've stayed in hostels nicer than this...

    I reserved a smoking room, was givin a non smoking room. switched rooms right after check in. then about 1230am a knock at the door. Security asking if I was suposed to be here. Had to go to loby to see same guy that moved me to the new room. Complained to manager in morning but was told it never happened. I was woke up dont tell me that.
