Distinct neighborhoods comprise this pedestrian-friendly downtown. Family-run stands serve international cuisine at Reading Terminal Market in the Convention Center. The steps immortalized in Rocky lead to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Museum District. Upscale shops and restaurants surround Rittenhouse Square. Funky boutiques, restaurants, and bars draw an eclectic crowd to South Street

"Perfect Location and a Great Value"
The Hilton Gardens Hotel in Downtown PA is great place to stay on a Family Trip, and very convenient. We were a block from Readington Market, just on the edge of Chinatown, an easy walk to Independance Mall and a reasonable cab ride to the Museums off the Ben Franklin Parkway. You could not beat the hotel and accomodations for the price. The Hotel Staff […] was very friendly and they followed through on all our questions and service requests adequately. The only drawbacks were the parking is pricey ($36 overnight, but that does let you come and go from the garage), and while the breakfast was delcious it was not included in our Hotels.com price and that was confusing so watch out for that. "Can't get much closer to the Convention Center"
The room I was first assigned reeked of cigarette smoke, but the staff immediately sent a bellman to apologize and move me to a new room. From there on my stay was worry free. Each encounter with staff was pleasant and professional, and every inquiry was answered quickly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Easy, nice, and clean"
I came into town for the NAIS conference. This hotel was only a block away and provided a good night's sleep. Rooms were clean, the ladies cleaning were quick and friendly. I had a great view of the skyline from my window. Nothing to say negative, this was a fantastic stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel great location"
Our room was upgraded because they didn't have two doubles available. The blanket had a stain on it which they changed right away when I called. The pool was very nice and the water was really nice and warm... perfect for February. Parking was $33 for 24 hours which was a little on the expensive side. We had 3 little kids and it was quiet at night. […] We were probably making the most noise. The location was lose to everything. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very Clean"
The hotel is very nice very clean but the parking is expensive. There should be a discount for hotel guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room did not have a safe. I asked and none of the rooms had safes. I was surprised. We travel alot and in the last 5 years I have not stayed in a room without a safe. As we travel with Ipads, computers etc. safes are important. We had to use the hotels safe boxes which was time consuming and very inconvient. "Convenient, nice amenities, but cold bathroom."
For the price it was a good deal. Refrigerator and microwave in the room was a plus. The pool and hot tub were very nice and fitness room was satisfactory. Conveniently located. But bathroom was very cold and there was no exhaust fan. Those two items were very disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
I greatly enjoyed my stay. I got there early and they were able to check me in early. The staff was friendly. The exersice equipment in the gym was satisfactory. I was able to walk to most of my business appointments in center city. Net in my opinion a good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

some of The staff could not be more accommodating but the hotel beds were very uncomfortable...mattress really needing to be replaced. "Great hotel for a night out in Center City"

"Great for EVERYTHING Philly has to offer!"
This is a superb hotel if you have ANY reason to be in Center City Philadelphia! The fact that it occupies the same block as the Reading Terminal Market makes it an incredibly convenient place to stay. Anything you could want to eat, from breakfast thru dinner can be found there. "Phillie Hilton Garden Inn - Good Value"
We have stayed before and like the convenience and value. Hotel well maintained - no frills. I wish the hotel restaurant/room service had better hours. Closing at 9pm seems very early. Room well serviced but knowing we had 3 adults I would have expected more than 2 towels and extra blankets/pillows. Bed was not good this time. I remember better beds […] last time I was here. Price was right. Location is OK. Wholefoods is on South and 10th. Walking distance to center or take a bus. Bus station is like almost on the corner thats convenient. "NYE and still great service"
Had a wonderful stay on NYE, which is a rare occurrence on "popular" nights. Friendy staff at check-in even though super busy, we got an extra blanket within minutes when I called for one, and the front desk called to make sure we had in fact ordered when our pizza delivery arrived in the lobby. The duvet cover on one bed was stained with a noticable […] spot, but the bed too comfortable for me to complain - I just didn't use the top sheet :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel but FREEZING!"
As soon as I entered the room I noticed the temp was incredibly cold! Went to turn on the heat and nothing but barely warm air came thru, eventually the guy came and checked the vent but couldn't improve - he said they are old units. I had the leave the heat on "90" to get decent warmth thru the night. The hallway was freezing also so I know it wasn't […] just me. "ok for a night"
The overall experience was satisfactory, although not what one would normally expect by a Hilton hotel. Our room was clean and functional. The beds were a bit old, but still quite comfy. The part of the experience that was not Hilton-like was probably the fact that there was only one restaurant in the whole hotel, which also happened to be reserved […] for a private function without any previous notification. Thus we only had the room service option. Since we were tired and jet lagged we took that option and we ended up being served a medium quality dinner at a high price. In addition to the dining frustration, that same night there was a birthday party planned on our floor which attracted outside teenage visitors. Although noise was not a problem, the presence of visitors was quite unnerving given that some were smoking weed and were walking up and down the corridors with alcohol. The hotel is nice and in a convenient location, however, certain improvements like service and security could make a big change in the professional outlook of the hotel. "Great location!"
This hotel was pretty nice, great location, but I definitely found a few hairs in my room, which was pretty gross. Overall, the room was a good size and kept well, but that kind of soured my experience. The staff was very friendly, but I realized later that they overcharged me for parking (which was $36, btw!!). If you're able to find street parking […] and get there during the day, do it. Since I arrived at night, I didn't walk around the city so I parked in the lot. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location for tourists"
The Hilton Garden Inn is quite pleasing. It's in the center of Philadelphia and right next to the Convention Center. Next to Reading Terminal(must try DiNick Pulled Pork Sandwich), Chinatown for food, and many other historical attraction close by short distance; some walkable(independence hall or others short taxi ride(museums, zoo) Hotel appears to […] be elegant on the outside and lobby, upstair hallway and rooms shows wear and tear. The sound isolation is poor as I can often hear outside and neighbor noises, some party music or perhaps the gym on top 10th floor was bothering me since 7AM!! Rooms located on 7th-9th floor, while I didn't check out the 10th floor restaurant, gym, and other accommodations I will leave it as that. The condition as acceptable to pleasing, as many other reviewers mentioned. PARKING is located next door or at the lower part of building and it's a deal breaker. $36/24hr unlimited in&out, $33/24hr, $28/12hr. Street parking is available if you don't mind, meter had to be fed from 8am-10pm across, but no parking for 8-11am on hotel side. Some spot don't need to feed meter on Sunday, and I used that advantage to park and went around town on foot and taxi. Then I parked on the street for the night, fed 2 hours meter for $4 and checked out right before 10am. This is entirely upto you. Overall, it was a pleasure stay since I was able to go see most of the attractions in the area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Might check out another hotel on my next visit."
The room seemed a little old, the whole place needs to be upgraded. There is no fan in the bathrooms which steams up very quickly. The beds were comfortable but getting a little old, a little weak in the middle. Staff was very nice and the hotel was very clean. Price of parking is too high.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location for doing sight seeing."
our group of 4 adults and 1 child had a nice time. Dining was a little expensive but found great places to eat next door at Reading Termainal Market. We walked to all of the places we wanted to see. Great time with the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Walked the 6 blocks and afterwards went through the Christmas village craft and food in the park.Genuine Expedia guest review
