Rough start with getting into my hotel room, beings though i was only 19. But everything was nice. Nice view, nice desk clerks, even down to the housekeepers. "Good for a getaway"
My husband I decided to have an in town romantic weekend. The hotel staff were very nice. The hotel room was nice because it's clearly a residence place as well. Nice big refrigerator, stove, etc. which was quite lovely for breakfast. I bet it would be great for a family. The location, for those who don't live in Philly, is a bit odd. It's kind of near […] the museums but it could be a bit of walk. Not a lot of good places for a nice breakfast or lunch. The restaurants downstairs serve generic food. "Great place. Just a little out of the way"
The hotel was fantastic for us. There are enough restaurants, bars and a 7/11 near the hotel. But, it is a bit out of the way in terms of access to the local sites. If you don't mind the subway (which seemed pretty safe to me), you'll have to catch the silver line to either the red, green or orange to see any of the sites. There were no problems, but the cost was way more than i ordinarily pay for better rooms at other places. I found the updated rooms (which someone on another review suggested you request, good suggestion because some rooms are not yet renovated) to be clean, well decorated, spacious and comfortable. I loved it. It was within walking distance to everywhere and had two pubs right by the entrance. "The Breakfast isn't worth the money"
My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The room is big and was clean. The kitchen was big and it had a large refrigerator. LOVED this hotel! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Very close to Logan Square, Art Museum, Reading Terminal Market, Love Park, City Hall, etc... The rooftop pool is wonderful, the rooms are very large and decorated very tastefully. We only stayed 2 nights, but had the best time in Philly doing all the touristy things. "Nice hotel but with some issues"
My wife and I stayed here for two nights. Some lights in the room didn't work and we had to have the maintenance guy fix the TV. Then the phone rang two nights in a row at about 3am with someone saying that the hotel was having "wiring issues." Needless to say we weren't happy. "loved the hotel but wrong size bed in our room"
I stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and had a great experience so naturally I booked this hotel again when I was returning to Philly. The staff was great and the location was ideal for all we wanted to do. The only problem I had was the size of the bed in our room. I had booked a room with 1 queen size bed and the bed that was in our room was definitely […] a Full size. I brought this to the attention of the front desk staff who looked it up in the computer and tried to convience me that the bed was a Queen. I am a short woman, only 5'0 tall and know that a queen size bed (when laying across it) will go from my head to my feet, this bed only went from my shoulders to my feet, clearly missing a few inches to be considered a queen size bed. One of the unknown perks was that we were able to get a breakfast voucher for $9.95 for the Con Murphy restaurant and enjoyed a breakfast that would have cost quite a bit more than the voucher price. While the service and our room at the Windsor Suites were nice, and the Hotels.com deal was a pretty decent price, I thought that there were a few major problems with the room that made our stay uncomfortable. The bathroom fixtures seemed newer, and were very nice, but the first time we used the shower, we couldn't control the water temperature very […] well. Additionally, the heater in the room had two settings: hot, and really hot. If we left it on overnight, we would wake up drenched in sweat; if we left it off, the room would be freezing cold in the morning. It seems that the Windsor needs to update some of their fixtures. Especially ironic was that the next night we stayed in a motel for half the price with fixtures and amenities that were just as nice, with a digital thermostat that allowed us to regulate our room's temperature to the degree.
