This is a beautiful, clean hotel. The staff was friendly and the room was very cheap for a last minute stay in the area. "Centrally Located to Many Philly Tourist Spots"
We were looking for an affordable, clean hotel located close to the typical Philly tourist destinations and we found it at the Crowne Plaza. The rate was a little higher than what I normally like to pay, but because of the location (downtown), it was to be expected and the Crowne Plaza still came out more affordable than other offerings. The parking […] was a little expensive as well, but I was willing to fork over a bit more for the convenience of parking there at the hotel as opposed to schlepping our bags a few blocks to cheaper parking. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff were very friendly. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the key-operated elevator. Meaning you could only visit the floor your room was located on by inserting your key. I'm not experienced enough of a traveler to know if this is the norm in other hotels, but we had others in our party staying with us on a different floor and sometimes it was hard to coordinate where we were going to meet up. It was very very had to find. Being non NY people, we assumed a street address on gold street mentioned the door would be on gold streetcar(which is a tiny two block street). Entrance is around the corner . We litteraly walked right by three times. They need a sign on gold. Service was gear. Room was Ave size but nice. 3 short blocks from all subs.
