The Hyatt at the Bellevue is an awesome old hotel that has been modernized in just the right ways. The location is right in the middle of almost everything you want to see. We walked to almost everywhere. The service was excellent. We had to ask for the bath towels, however, and because of the odd shape of the room the large flat screen TV was a bit […] far from the bed, not that we did much TV watching. We arrived Saturday at 4pm (check-in time was 3pm), our room wasn’t ready but the front desk informed us it wouldn't be long and took down my number to call when it was ready, he figured in about 20 mins. Left our bags with the bellman who said they would take care of it getting up to our room, and we went through the Shops at the Bellevue to kill some […] time and grab a bite to eat. An hour passed and we still hadn't heard from the front desk so we went back and asked for an update on the room and were told it was ready. Looked in the bathroom, no shower/tub combo as described in the booking. We got a handicap room with a roll-in shower, not what we wanted. My fiancee called down to the front desk, they did not have any rooms with shower/tub combos left, so we wouldn't be able to change rooms. Also noticed that the "city view" was anything but, our room was on the inside of the hotel and our view consisted of a small window overlooking some sort of courtyard, not what we were promised. Tried to make reservations for dinner at both onsite restaurants, but were told they were completely booked. Tried making an appointment to get a massage at the spa that morning but were told that it was completely booked. Overall, we did not get the experience we were hoping for, especially for a romantic night away from home. Did not feel we got the luxury we paid for, and had I known the experience would've been this way I would've booked at one of the many other hotels in the area. Read more

The Bellevue is one of the nicest hotels in the country: spacious rooms and elegance everywhere. However, the 12th floor has the conservatory (common space), wgich can get noisy and the rooms are not fully soundproof. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay otherwise.

Very good stay, had a great time. Only a couple minor issues that only bother me because of the price, end table was half/broke and crooked, in room fridge wasn't very cold and door was messed up. In room dining service was excellent!

Our room was spacious for a city hotel -- compared, for instance, to the tiny rooms of NYC and Rome. My husband likes a firmer bed, I like a softer bed. Curiously, we both loved the bed at the Hyatt.

Great location near major cultural and nightlife venues. Fabulous bar on 19th floor with great city views. In general the hotel is well maintained and is VERY clean. But our room was showing signs of wear, especially in the bathroom where wall paper was starting to peel in places, and very old (and probably permanent by now) stains made floor corners […] obvious. These corners were very clean, though. The Awake Package we bought included a bottle of decent champagne and breakfast for two. Please to learn that we could have breakfast by room service and order off the menu. Very nice touch. It arrived within a couple of minutes of the promised time. My husband and I stayed here on 2/10/2012 for a couple's night away from home. Overall it was a really nice hotel. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, high-end but not stuffy. My husband had a 30 minute chair message at the spa, which he said was great, and I had an 80-minute facial which was really relaxing. We visited the hotel bar at the XIX, but […] were really disappointed. It was stuffy, with loud repetitive "lounge music" and an "I'm better than you" feel. We're both only 26, and maybe a bit too young to own matching Rolexes, otherwise we might have fit in a little better. We payed $25 for 2 drinks and left. Breakfast at the XIX cafe was nice, their eggs benedict was really good, and my husband enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Our bill was a little pricey for breakfast though, it came to $44 before tip. Great hotel to stay in if you want a relaxing, comfortable stay, but go elsewhere if you're looking for a comfortable bar. Read more

Excellent service throughout hotel; convenient neighborhood right across from a subway. Has its own restaurant called XIX on the 19th floor with a cool bar. The gym is […] excellent , spreading over 3 floors, with all the latest equipment, classes including boxing and aerobics. And there is a pool, so come armed with all workout and bathing suits. The hotel also has an inside walkway to a hair parlor, Tiffany's, a shoe store and Williams Sonoma. Other nice stores right next to the hotel are LaCoste and Kenneth Cole. For alternative dining options that are close by and more casual, the hotel has a foodcourt in the lower levels for more causal dining. Across the street is Pain Quotidien. Like the hot water didn't work initially, but when we called the front desk they said to leave it running for 15 minutes, and sure enough, we got ample hot water. Attending the Blossom Bash 2011 in March, I decided to book the Awaken package with a King-sized bed. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told they had two QUEEN beds for us. Politely asking whether there was a KING bed, we received no real response other than a shrug. I realize hotel employees sometimes have no real control over this, but I had paid […] a premium price for the Awaken package and specifically booked a King. So it seemed a bit shady that we were not given what we paid for/asked for. The room itself was nice and we enjoyed our night at the gala a great deal. Then in the morning, the Awaken package turned out to be a choice between a cold continental breakfast or one of only 3 things from the menu that were under a certain price, not including the coffee or juice which was additional $. The hot portion of the breakfast buffet would also have been additional $. Had I known about the fixed price and cheap continental choice, I would have saved my money, we would have slept in longer, and just found a more satisfying and less costly breakfast on our way home. All in all, we enjoyed our evening at the hotel, but next time, we will probably take the train in to avoid exhorbitant parking fees, will make sure we get the room/bed we pay for, and will not be spending the extra money for the breakfast. Older hotel but reasonably well maintained. Restaurant/bar at the top of the building is outstanding. Big plus that there is a real health club in the building that guests have access to.
