I requested a King size bed and received 2 double beds and was told they were all sold out. I was charged for the room before I authorized the payment, I paid extra to have the time to pay for it when I checked out and they still took the money out early. I love Sheraton, my husband and I were married at a Sheraton and had a wonderful experience. This Sheraton left a lot to be desired. The door to our room would not shut unless you forced shut with all your weight, the door to our bathroom just wouldn't close. The room across the hall from us had the same glasses outside there door for the entire weekend. […] The front desk gave us bad directions to a bar that was only a few blocks away. "Not A Pleasant Stay"
The hotel was centrally located for the event we were attending. However, our room was NOT ready at check in time and then we had to sit in the rest/bar area and were totally ignored by wait staff for half an hour before we were acknowledged. This was the worst service I got from such an expensive hotel in my whole life. First They promised us a King size bed and we got two queens, it took them 30 mins to find my reservation because they spelt my name wrong and then asked me how I knew it was me! We and many other people, waited over an hour past the check in time to be able to get in our room. They did comp our parking only at my request for the delay. The rooms were filthy, they appeared to have only a surface cleaning between guests. The hallways had trash on the floor that never got vacuumed in the 2 days we were there. "DO NOT STAY HERE!!!"
This was by far one of the worst stays I ever had. 1) Check in was over 1 hour late. Check in time 3pm but at 4pm still no room available? Was told maybe 30 min more but they are not sure? 2) AC in room did not work. They sent a tech person to come but they didnt do anything besides turn the temp lower and say change it back when it gets cold. It […] never got cold. Not even leaving the room for dinner and exploring and coming back hours later. Completely broken AC 3) Huge brown stain on ceiling from what seems to be a roof leak 4) No working ice machine on floor so I had to go to a different floor each time I needed ice. A problem since there was no fridge in the hotel room to keep anything cold. 5) Room key did not work the following morning 6) But the biggest issue was someone came into our room at 1am. YES SOMEONE ELSE HAD A KEY! They double booked the room or something because Someone was able to open the door at 1am!! This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in for 1 night. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website, because once you arrive and walk in the hotel you are greeted with uncleanliness. Terrible experience overall. The condition and cleanliness of the hotel is way off from the nice pictures posted. The reception staff is very unprofessional. 1. The reception supervisor who happened to check me in lacks all courteousness in receiving customers. One customer next to me was obviously having a hard time checking in with another employee […] at reception. They did not seem to care. 2. No information was provided that the floor accommodates pets. 3. There was very little toilet paper provided in the room and it was the cheapest toilet paper you can think of. The toilet paper they use was very rough – I had to buy my own. 4. The bottom of the shower curtain lining had stains from mold, It was completely noticeable, unhealthy, and unacceptable. 5. The cleaning staffs seems to clean from 12 noon to around 6 pm, yet in my two day stay the corridor was never once vacuumed. 6. The gym is the most unclean and worst part of the hotel. It has very old carpet that is starting to peel off; the bench leather upholstery is also peeling off, the gym equipment looks to be, at least, 20 years old. 7. Get a breakfast elsewhere. Not worth it at all. 8. Although wireless and hi-speed internet is mentioned in the amenities, note that it's only free in the lobby. "Standard Hotel, Substandard Service"
Overal the hotel is exactly what you'd expect for the price point. However, the staff was quite unprofessional and discourteous. At check-in the women behind the counter were much more interested in their personal conversations than the guest approaching the desk. While a minor annoyance, this lack of professionalism was just an indication of things […] to come. During my stay I made the mistake of misplacing an item and leaving it in the room. For the next 7 business days I tried, in vain, to reach anyone at the hotel whom would put forth a modicum of effort to help me see if they'd been located. After several phone calls (which were routed to different functions of security, housekeeping, courtesy desk, etc) and messages, it became clear to me that either no one fully understood the responsibilities or protocol for such a common occurrence, or no one wanted to take the responsibility on themselves. Finally, after cursing out a seemingly uninterested "manager," I was able to get a response. Summarily, I'd say that this hotel chooses to staff on the cheap. They are obviously not trained in the hospitality field, and are clearly only given basic training in how to run the hotel. "Negligent, incompentent and inconsiderate reception staff turned my stay into an ordeal"
I had arranged for FedEx to deliver a very important overnight package to the hotel, and had called the hotel twice in advance to make sure that they knew that the package was coming and to please hold it until I arrived. When I arrived before midnight, the receptionist had not heard of the package, could not find the package, did not know who to contact […] in order to find the package. FedEx had indeed delivered the package early that morning, but the receptionist did not keep her word about telephoning me to keep me updating about the progress, I had to keep calling down to urge her to search. Finally, after one and a half hour of waiting -- at night, after a long flight from the West coast -- she found that Security had placed it, somewhere. I had explained to her that delivering the package personally was the reason for my trip to Philadelphia and that this was both vital and urgent for me. This ordeal was clearly not only caused by one receptionist, but by poor communication between reception staff. This makes it impossible to recommend the hotel in any other way. Check in was fine. Room (109) was on first floor. Was dark and rather worn out. Noticed there was no desk chair. Complained. A chair was provided while I was out of the room. Internet access I thought was very expensive many other Hotels give free wireless. The bar was average, barman was friendly and gave good service. Did not use restaurant. Very dissapointed with this hotel, i read a lot of reviews saying you could sometimes check in a little early we got there at 130 they said check in time isnt until 3 so obv thats fine we walked around till 315 went back and were told rooms wouldnt be ready until 4, so we went to get a late lunch came back at 430 and there was a line of people to the […] back exit of the hotel! we finally got up to the front desk at 545, they told me i could leave my bag with the concierge the first time we attempted to check in, when i went to get it it was no longer behind the desk but in the middle of the lobby, the valet said less then 60 people checked in the night before so how were the rooms not ready? not to mention the staind bed sheets and peanuts fell out of the comforter when i took it off..no apology was offered they just told us everyone came at the same time! if you know you have over 300 reservations coming in maybe as a hotel you should be prepared! not only was the room temperature horrible in the dead middle of the summer, the sink and tub was unclean with hair in it, the pillows had stains on them and when they came to so called "clean the room" while we were out, they made the bed without changing the sheets or pillowcases, and didnt even cleand the bathroom, they just put "freah" towels on […] top of the toilet in which 2 of them had stains on them. "The price of room is not what they say it is."
Be prepared to pay unreal prices for parking. One would hope paying such high prices for a hotel, a hotel which is not anything out of the ordinary, would warrant a spot in their parking lot for free or at least 5-10 dollars a day. "Stay somewhere else"
This hotel is very old. Elevators were very slow. You need to switch elevators to go to the parkade. Water flowed slowly in the shower. Shower curtain hooks were all broken. Toilet seat was loose. In-room cordless phone wouldn't charge (ie. useless). In-room desk phone wouldn't answer the call when you pick up the handset. The room was too dark -- not […] enough lights. Desk lamp in my room was broken. TV was a 19" curved-screen CRT. Local phone calls and 1-800 calls all cost extra. Underneath the desk in my room was a mess of wires suspended in mid-air (hanging from the underside of the desk). Quality of food, price and services at the restaurants were poor. I ordered the same breakfast buffet on two days and got charged two different prices. The other time when I ordered a Belgium waffle with strawberries they forgot the strawberries and didn't offer an apology. The cheap unbreakable extra-thick china they used would cool down your hot tea/coffee within minutes. The Phillips restaurant was expensive considering the poor quality food they offered and the slow and under-staffed service.
