Very pleasant renovated room, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and very clean. I had breakfast at restaurant, and wanted freshly cooked eggs. To this hotels' management: while you might think its good business to not spend $100 in wages to have an extra person on the front desk at check-in, the fact that I and everyone else in the line get really annoyed at waiting half an hour in the queue, increases the chance of more than $100 worth of BAD publicity generated by reviews like this! Beyond […] the long lines, some other cons: - rooms tired and Grotty (marks on walls). - no breakfast included - no fridge - as seems to be the norm, hotels.com guest gets assigned the worst room in the class (2nd floor with view directly out to ugly roof/air conditioning units) - other guests in front of us appeared to get welcome gift bags. We did not. - $25 to self park - are you kidding?? Couldn't find it at first - the Wyndham moved a month before and the old address was still listed on the Wyndham Website - fortunately it was only a couple blocks away. Check-in was slow - only one desk clerk on duty and she appeared to be new to the job. It's an old property (formerly a Holiday Inn) but nicely renovated and clean.

This hotel is located in a great place for seeing the historical sights of downtown Philadelphia. When we tried to check in to our room at 10:15pm, they said our room wasn't available yet because it needed to be cleaned. We had to wait 45 minutes before we could check into our room. My room on the 4th floor was very quiet and comfortable. I enjoyed walking to Reading Market, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and numerous wonderful restaurants. I traveled alone, and felt very comfortable during my stay at the Wyndham.

Clean room. Heat/air conditioner is loud and walls are thin. Can hear everything in hallway and when others open/shut their doors. Location is great. 11am check-out time is early. Parking is reasonable.

Stayed at this hotel as a stopping point on a trip through the east coast. It was a nice hotel with onsite parking and the rooms were big. Definitely would recommend!

Two blocks from everything. Clean. Service is a bit slow and no bellboys to help with luggage. Seems like it was just taken over by the Wyndham. Parking $ 25.- and breakfast is $ 14.- but is was mediocre. For the price it is worth it. Would stay again.

Our room was not very clean, especially the carpet and bathroom. The hotel itself needs a serious renovation- you could tell it was an old hotel that had been recently bought out. The elevators had been vandalized with someone writing with permanent marker on the walls. All of this isn't the worst of it though. The worst is when we were woken up from […] a very loud pounding sound. When I called the front desk to let them know, they said that we were in a room right below the gym and someone was running on a treadmill. After waiting for an hour or more I called back down to the front desk because the noise was unbearable. The clerk said that they would come up to listen. A half hour later they came up just when the person got off the machine and the noise stopped. The desk manager seemed like we were complaining for no reason. I asked when the gym opened and he said 10 am which would have been impossible since the noise started around 8 am. All they offered was to not charge us for our parking (25$) and we could switch rooms. Thank God we were checking out that day. I can't recommend this place until they fix it up and move the gym! This Wyndham is so new even the cabbies didn't know that it had changed over from the old Holiday Inn. recently refurbished; very comfortable room. The restaurant has some catching up to do to match its Wyndham peers, but in general, it was a friendly, cordial place to stay.

The price and location are so tempting, but ultimately the cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel are lacking. My room was cold and the heater was broken. There was trash on the floor and crumbs on the tables. For me, the low cost was not worth the condition of the room and hotel overall.

Comfortable, convenient location. It was fine after moving rooms as the neighbors in the next room the first night came in a 3 AM and it was some sort of trailer trash first night in the big city party until after 4, despite calls to the front desk and visits by hotel security to ask for quiet.

It's literally adjacent to Ben Franklin's gravesite and several historic sites. Check out the US Mint and the Constitution Center, across the street. One block from a subway station with a direct line to the AMTRAK station. It also has a large parking garage, although I wasn't driving. Parking is obviously extra, as at all city hotels. Staff was also very helpful. I forgot some toiletries, and they provided complementary replacements, as well as additional coat hangers for the closet. They stored my luggage on checkout day until I was leaving town--no problems. The hotel was relatively busy, but I never felt crowded or inconvenienced. I'd stay there again without a doubt. The air in the room was so dry from the heating unit and it requires a humidifier and the unit so noisy, the room doesn't have a mirror to look at yourself when you are dressed. Location is good if you're interested in visiting the Liberty Bell and the Hall.

The staff is great there. Walter at the front desk was extremely polite and Michelle upgraded our room when she heard we were staying with the Holiday Inn again.

I went for the Army Navy Game, lots of other people with the same plan. Great chance to see the city, all sorts of historical walks just outside the door! Its an older hotel but well worth it, parking garage was useful too. My flight was early and they found me a room on the spot, even looked up my priority club number. Definitely recommend.

Our room shared a wall with the fitness center and the noise was ridiculous. Treadmills and weight machines were just a couple feet from our heads while we were trying to sleep. Gym is open from 5am to 11pm. Other than that, the hotel seemed fine.

No thermostat. Adjusting the temperature is kind of difficult. It works more like a car heater. I should have not even tried. I wanted it to be a little warmer but it ended up being way too warm. However that is my only complaint. Parking is only 25$ a night and right next to the hotel which is great.

I thought the holiday inn historic location was a good choice to see all the historical sites and have access to some really good resturants. My stay was short but was able to get in a lot of sightseeing. I really utilized the hop on hop off bus to see most of the sights, it was a real plus. Very pleased with the hotel.

The heating system must be upgraded. It was either broiling hot or freezing cold; the pillows were ridiculous- not enough, not big enough, and definitely over-used; the sheet and covers would not move from the end of the bed-we did not get a restful nights sleep.

When staying in Philadelphia and since we are on a budget, we usually stay at this Holiday Inn. The staff is nice, except in the restaurant. We have only had one waiter (waitress) who was polite and attentive (and she was the trainee!). The lobby and decor of the hotel is pretty much the same as every other Holiday Inn, except the carpets are kept together […] with magenta duct tape. The rooms need new carpet desperately (very damaged) and the bathrooms need to cleaned! There is a pool, but we have not yet had the chance to use it. The price and proximity to our family is why we chose this hotel. This hotel is good for families on a budget or the quick one night stay-over. Read more
