"Great hotel"
We had a studio suite and it was plenty of room for me and my two kids. Very clean and great location. In walking distance of tower city where you can take the FREE trolley to many attractions. I didnt like location of room. Had to get on 2 different elevators to reach the room on 3rd floor. Room had better view but was much smaller than the room we had last year which was on the 2nd floor. What an unusual hotel! The hotel is built in an old arcade, which the rooms still overlook. The rooms are exactly what you would expect from a Residence Inn (comfortable, no fuss), but the hotel itself is quite extraordinary. This hotel is definately worth staying in if you are looking for comfort and convenience in the downtown Cleveland area. The room had everything an at home kitchen would have less an oven and even had a working gas fireplace. This location is well within the walking distance of very nice dining, live entertainment, a casino, an indoor mall next to the casino as well as within a comfortable walk of the theatre district. Although dated the actual hotel is very clean, quite spacious with extremely wide hallways and an enormous elegant dining area where a very generous and diverse breakfast was served by very attentive staff. We even had a call from Amanda at the front desk within half an hour of checkin to make sure everything was alright. It was a lovely hotel, nice and clean and close to the neighborhood where everything was happening.It was nice that we could use the computers in the common room downstairs free of charge because we had to look up some important information about the competition that brought us to Cleveland. I sent my 20-year-old daughter in to inquire about parking […] while I waited outside in the car. The person at the desk was helping another customer, so my daughter waited her turn. My daughter thought the employee addressed her at one point, so she began to ask about the parking only to be snapped at by the employee who said, "I"m with this customer!" My daughter was embarrassed and apologized profusely for the misunderstanding, but the the clerk was not very nice about it. That is my only complaint, and it bothers me especially when employees treat a young person this way. I know she wouldn't have treated me the same way. The TV remote was a bit annoying. Funky retro-fit into an 1890s arcade-style building, with fantastic location. Parking garage is very tight, don't bring your SUV. A half block away is 4th street, pedestrian-only. Can walk to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, if weather is good (maybe 20 min.). Becoming a member there is very worthwhile, especially if you take advantage of the gift shop discount. "Not impressed"
The hotel doesnt have an area for pets in or around the hotel, but rather two blocks away next to the Quicken Arena and everytime I had to take my dog out to potty, I was bombarded with people asking for money. I had reserved two rooms. Both rooms were somewhat clean but the bed/sofa bed in both rooms were well worn. One of the bathrubs had a black […] ring around it and soap scum in the soap dish. I called to have it cleaned but was told that housekeeping was very busy and not sure when they could get to it. I was reimbursed the parking fee as compensation for this inconvenience. The most helpful person there was a custodian who gave us a history of the hotel, some sites to see and was just an all-around great guy. The saving grace was the excellent breakfast buffet--which had a wide variety of breakfast foods, cereals, already cooked oatmeal, a waffle iron, several juices, various fruits, The hotel is next to lots of good restaurants right around the corner but I was amazed at the number of panhandlers asking for money.
