"super 8 in houghton"
By far the best hotel in town. They have tons of room for parking with snowmobile trailers. Nice view on the water over looking the town. The travel lodge in town was horrible in comparisson. Their trailer parking was 3 blocks away under an old bridge. It was terrible. I'll be staying at the super 8 every time from now on. 10 out of 10.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Gem in Houghton"

"comfortable and clean but small design flaw"
We stayed in a lakefront room--beautiful view, nice breeze through the screen window. Very comfortable beds and pillows, no odors in room. Carpet and bathroom floor were clean. Nicely maintained. Odd design though--the light switch for the bathroom is OUTSIDE the bathroom door. So everyone in the room is disturbed by the bright light when you have to […] flip the switch on the outside wall and then close the door. "My first visit: Enjoyable"
This was my first visit to this area up north of the us, and my first sight of snow. The scenery was great, the people were very nice, breakfast was good, and the location was very convenient for me. "We loved it!"
We really enjoyed our stay. It is worth the extra money to reserve a room facing the water. The windows open for fresh air. Hotel is on a lovely walking, biking trail. Indoor pool is nicely heated with a shower and changing area. You can walk to several restaurants.
