"Clean and well maintained but shows signs of age"

"A bad example of the Hilton hotels"
I have stayed at several Hilton hotels and this was the roughest. Upon arrival I noticed the ceilings were lower than many hotels, to me this felt a little claustrophobic. Within minutes I squished a bed bug or tick or something similar against the bedskirt. Never saw any more bugs. Some of the sheets had stains and there was some other dirt or something […] in the comforter. Minor point but the matress was not centered on the box spring but about 5 inches hanging off. Then the tub drain didn't work and the a part of the toilet broke. Both of these items were repaired fully while I was away that day. The staff was always friendly and helpful. In an effort to be fair to this hotel, they had just been the host hotel for a marathon the day before I checked in, so that may have had an impact on my stay. Because I asked for senior rate, they automatically place us in a handicapped room, which I did not request. The bathroom had a tile missing and the repaired epoxy on the bathtub did not look very professional. Other than staying in a room that looked like it was about 20 years old, it was an otherwise decent stay. "a little disappointed"
This could have been a 5 across the board but a couple things were very disappointing . . no free wifi! Wifi is a must while traveling for business and pleasure and this is the first hotel I have stayed at where it was not offered. I have received free wifi at all the Hilton Garden Inns I stay at and other chains as well. With a name like Hilton I expected […] free wifi. Then I ordered room service, simply a snack of fries priced at $7.00, but after they added gratuities and other fees (which were not listed on the room service menu) it was $16.50 for a small plate of fries and I didn't even get the sauce I ordered with it. They had the best room rate when I searched for the room, but I will not stay again, add on $9.95 for the wifi and the more than doubled price of my room service and I now paid more than other places. My complaint is there is very little parking close to the hotel. I realize the hotel was full but both nights we stayed we had to walk a couple blocks to get to a hotel door.
