Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. Hotel rooms are clean.. Services are good. Rooms are kind small but it is Good to have kitchen meet. Elevators should improvement .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel. Needs some work on elevator system as certain times of the day would cause long waits. Near bus stops, restaurants, nightlife, and beach. Nice place for price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for a budget vacation stay"
If the purpose of your stay is a budget vacation, this is the place. It's in a good location 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach. The rooms are not fancy and could use an upgrade, but for a budget vacation, it's great! Please note that parking is limited and expensive like other hotels, so we actually parked at the public parking at Waikiki Banyan which is […] about 5 minutes away for $95 less per week. "Ideal location for budget-conscious family"
Stayed here 30 years ago, and still think it's among the best places to stay with a family on a budget. Across the street is a Denny's restaurant with their $2,4,6,8 menus, beside it across the street is a Food Pantry (costs are much higher than on mainland though), catch free Waikiki trolley out front, Waikiki Beach is 2 and a half blocks away, the […] Waikiki Town Center (formerly the International Market Place - 30 years ago) is still there just a block down the street. I love this place. Chili's is in the hotel. Pool on 2nd floor with its cabana bar is a nice touch. And in the basement is Nashville Waikiki - a country and western bar if you like that sort of thing. "Drug dealers across the street everynight/noisy!"
The hotel was very dated, but very clean and well maintained. The street noise was as bad as staying over the music on light show on Freemont Street in Vegas. Drug dealers SOOOOO obvious across the street. Bar below the hotel closes at 4am- and it was a wake-up call with all the loud people followed by sirens. OK place for the budget concerned.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, great location"
This hotel was in a great location, next to shopping and the international marketplace. The hotel was older, and didn't have all of the ameneties that one of those new super fancy resorts has, but if you come to Hawaii for the hotel rooms, you have issues. The location was awesome, a couple of minutes walk from the beach and we loved every second!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Carpets are old and we can noise from the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There was construction going on outside our room. They were digging the street up, traffic was backed up and you could smell the sewer. The bathroom shower was too small. But the staff was very helpful and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Alright but no wifi"
Like the title says, the wifi didn't work. Not a big deal because we were only there for one night. Would have been worse if we had stayed longer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"ONE NIGHT STAY WAS FINE"
This was an older hotel, BUT for its value and convenient location, the price could not be beat compared to other hotels in the area. The three elevators were slow, so we ended up taking the stairs to/from the second floor. There is a Chili's restaurant located downstairs and a Denny's across the street which were great when traveling with teenagers. […] The only reason I did not give a higher rating for hotel service was because when I called an hour before check-in time and asked for adjoining rooms rooms (which I knew was a long shot) or even on the same floor, my request could not be accommodated, and I learned later there was a vacant room next to ours. I had hoped some effort would be made but it was an immediate, "Sorry, there are no rooms." There was also some confusion on parking. It was not clearly communicated to us at check-in that we needed to place our hotel's parking pass on our dashboard overnight. Because we were there only for a night, we did not leave the hotel so we kept our pass in our room. We found a notice on our windshield the next morning. Finally, I'm not sure if it was only my imagination, but the complimentary bath soap left a weird film on my skin. I tried it twice and ended up using shampoo as soap. These are all minimal complaints. I trust the Ohana brand of hotels so I would stay at one of their hotels again but maybe for a few dollars more try their "East" hotel adjacent to the West. "FUN in Oahu"
The hotel rooms could use some upgrading however the staff were very accommodating. The location as central to just everything in walking distance or jump on the trolley or bus stops right outside the front door. Plus International Market Place is just across the street from the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walking distance to shops and restaurants"
Stayed 2 nights after staying in a condo, what a difference,we have to pay for car parking($20..00) a night, the bathroom are so small with no place to put toiletries. carpets are so outdated .The only good thing is, it is walking distance to point of interest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for slim people"
The hotel was in a great location, with lots of shops just steps away. They even have a pharmacy right outside the hotel doors. The only problem we had was that the bathroom and everything in it was too small for us. The toilet seats were so small we barely fit on it, and the shower door (no tub) was so narrow that we couldn't get in without touching […] both sides of the shower. The kitchenette was also not impressive. Their refrigerators are quite small and they only had one sauce pan and a small frying pan to cook for the 7 of us. Overall, the place wasn't too bad if you don't plan to cook, and the housekeeping staff are very pleasant and accommodating. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ohana Waikiki West"
Clean and neat, right in downtown shopping area but several blocks from the beach. Rooms could use new mattresses and NO wireless in rooms. TV selection for kids is VERY limited! "OK for what you pay....."
This was an OK/perfect hotel if you are using it for only sleeping. The big issue for us was the parking eventhough we paid for the parking space whe ften had to park at the Ohana East because there was no parking left. This hotel was very miitary friendly and have good parking discounts as well giving you free rides through out Wakiki in the pink trolley. […] If you like waking up early and wallking to the beach ( about 2 blocks) or to the canal to see the sun rise this is the place for you. If you are an early riser make a list of the restraurants that serve early breakfast..6:30 am..otherwise you get stuck with Denny's across the street. Our biggest issue was having 2 teenagers in the same room..the rooms are small for 4 people. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
No surprises for the price and location. As with most cheaper hotels in downtown waikiki the hotel was older and showing the signs of it. I was reminded of being in a motel 6. Just the basics. The worst was the bugs, I expect there to be a higher number than normal when I am in Hawaii but I made mental notes that I thought I saw more than normal. It […] wasnt that there were bugs everywhere, but they were there. Overall the hotel was ok but just ok but for the price what do you expect? Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Loved that you can ride public transportation free with your room key card. Very kind hotel when hotels.com screwed up my reservation. They could not have been kinder to us and upgraded our room. "Classic hotel of the 1960's/70's"
Good location, good staff. Showing a little wear. A classic (on the interior ) of the late 1960's early 70's which they should restore it to if the owners are smart. Very little in Waikiki dates from the 1940', 50's or 60's. I can life with wear when it is real.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"OHANA Waikiki West - Bad Experience"
It was a bad choice.. with the hotel that close to activities, we thought this hotel is going to be at par with expectations.. but it certainly did not.. Rooms were stinking and bed was poor quality. The parking has AC vents leading out of hotel so its real hot in parking.. The only good thing about the hotel is Location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed our stay this hotel. It is very close to anything that you could possibly need. And just a few blocks from the beach. Our room overlooked Kuhio street, and was a little noisy on the weekend, had a fun view that was good for people watching! I would recommend asking for a room facing a different street if noise bothers you though. There are […] several bars on this road and the party crowd hangs out late on the weekends. There is a farmers market across the street and one closer to the beach that were fun to go check out. We had a seafood buffet at the Oceanarium restaurant that was excellent! Rooms were nice for the price....good to be able to buy food to eat there. There is a chile's restaurant below the hotel too if you don't want to cook. Very friendly staff! "Great Location and Stay"
We really enjoyed staying at the OHANA WAIKIKI WEST. The location was great and the staff helpful and friendly. While it was not on the beach..it was a very short walk. "Fine for what we needed"
We were vacationing on Oahu, so didn't expect to spend much time in our room, and we didn't, but the hotel was great for what we needed. "Ohana Waikiki West - Great Location"
Our room faced the mountain side, so we had no view, but weren't in our room that much. The bar with live entertainment at night is located on the street side, so those rooms might have experienced noise at night. The walls are kind of thin and we could hear our neighbor with a very loud voice early in the morning. The hotel is directly across the street […] from a grocery store and the International Marketplace. The room key allowed us to travel for free on the Pink Trolley line to Ala Moana Shopping Center, which saved us bus fare. We had a room with a kitchenette (microwave, small refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, two burner stove, frying pan, and plates, coffee mugs and eating utensils), so could make limited meals and kept leftovers cold. For our needs, it was a great place to stay. But no bathtub, so I don't know how babies and small children can deal with a shower only. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A convenient location"
We stated at Ohana west 8-11 July 2013. We stated two nights initially at hotel Renew which was a fabulous boutique hotel but moved to Ohana after we cancelled our Maui trip. I chose this because it was a it cheaper than Hotel Renew and it had a pool. We didn't end up using the pool we went to the beach every day and entered through the beautiful outrigger […] hotel on the each. The Bach is quite narrow and packed. About cramped for and Aussie. Hotel room was adequate. Seemed a bit dated with decor it obviously Hawaiian style in greens. Flats screen tv in room with lots of channels but not much on. Lifts take a while. We were on 5th floor so used the stairs a lot. On check in be prepared for a sales pitch for Wyndham time share. We got a free breakfast and pearl harbour trip http had to sacrifice 2 hours for the sales talk. Sobecarecul when you approach the activities desk. Could not check in until 4 pm but stored our bags while we went to the beach. Free ala moana shopping trolley right outside he door. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Really enjoyed our stay. We chose to come an extra 3 days before boarding the cruise ship. The hotel was close to all the things that we wanted to see. The hotel is older but kept up. "Central location in Waikiki"
Good mid range hotel with great location in central Waikiki. Only one block from beach and across the road from the markets. Had partial views of the ocean and Diamond Head from our top-storey room. overall good value but can be noisy on street side especially on weekendsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay didn't start out as good as we were stuck in the lift, then when we got to our room which was right next to the lift which was quite noisy, then our tv didn't work and we couldn't open our balcony door. After complaining with the staff, they gave us another room which was on level 1. We were alot happier than as we were on the same level as […] the pool and was only 2 flight of stair down to the lobby. The hotel has a pink trolley that stops right in front and if you show you room card you can ride on it for free to the Ala Moana shopping mall and the waikiki beach was only 2 blocks away.
