Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.see all hotels in Honolulu

"Excellent Except Elevators"
Clean, comfortable, great location. Super friendly and helpful staff. Liked everything except the elevators. They are overworked. Hotel needs more. They are slow. Oh..and is it just Midwest me, or could the room's air conditoner be cranked up just a bit more?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We arrived in the evening after traveling all day. Hotel right in main downtown, lot of people walking around. Was challenging to figure out where to park to register. After that all went great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel. Needs some work on elevator system as certain times of the day would cause long waits. Near bus stops, restaurants, nightlife, and beach. Nice place for price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Hotel close to everything"
The hotel is close to everything. Two blocks from the beach, the International Market is right across the street and plenty of restaurants to choose from with in walking distance. The pool is okay closes at 8pm. The pool bar is open til 2am with $3 Mia Tia's. Rooms are clean with plenty of room. "Staying at the Ohana West"
I very much enjoyed the stay. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was just great with a great view. I would very much recommend this hotel as a good moderately priced hotel just a couple of blocks from the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good for a budget vacation stay"
If the purpose of your stay is a budget vacation, this is the place. It's in a good location 2 blocks from Waikiki Beach. The rooms are not fancy and could use an upgrade, but for a budget vacation, it's great! Please note that parking is limited and expensive like other hotels, so we actually parked at the public parking at Waikiki Banyan which is […] about 5 minutes away for $95 less per week. "Nice, centrally located and clean hotel."
Excellent service! Great price. I had to remain in Hawaii due to an illness to my brother. I was able to get a room at the Ohana for a very reasonable price and they went out of their way to work with me during my brother's recovery process. I cannot say enough about the staff and their support. Many thanks.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in Waikiki"
My girlfriend and I stayed here during a trip in May 2013. We were pleased by the basic room with a comfortable bed, the outdoor pool, and the convenient location on Kuhio Blvd. We felt that it was a good value, as it is only a 5 min walk to Waikiki beach.Genuine Expedia guest review

This is an old hotel building late 1950's-early 1960's, but the still in pretty good shape. It reminds of the old Hawaii 5-0 episodes.Staff very helpful & friendly. "Overall Great Hotel LOCATION is AWESOME!!!"
This hotel's location is absolutely perfect. The room is basic, but considering the price and location, it is awesome! Definitely recommend this place. Comfy, great location, and the staff is super helpful and nice!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, great location"
This hotel was in a great location, next to shopping and the international marketplace. The hotel was older, and didn't have all of the ameneties that one of those new super fancy resorts has, but if you come to Hawaii for the hotel rooms, you have issues. The location was awesome, a couple of minutes walk from the beach and we loved every second!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Gets the job done"
great location. good room. ok bathroom and not so good service. But for the price you are placed in a great location right in the heart of Waikiki. A stroll to the beach, right in front of the international market. and a quick bus ride to Diamond head and other shopping area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location and price"
I gave it a pleasing because of the low price, large spacious room size and location. The elevators are slow but, your on vacation so you have a few minutes to wait fir them. The rooms need a really good overhaul such as cleaning in the cracks and corners, scrubbing down the showers and maybe redoing the torn wallpaper.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff is very nice, Great location, close to everything shopping, The beach! chillis is downstairs and there is a rooftop bar and pool! The only downside is the rooms are small and outdated espeically the bathrooms the shower was sooo small and the shower head barely moved you had to crunch into the corner to wash your hair. But I guess who […] stays in they're room the whole time when in HAWAII! I would stay here again it is pretty well priced and has good location Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for people on a budget"
You really get what you pay for with Ohana Waikiki West. Location is great, just across the street from the International Market and two streets down from Waikiki Beach. Rates run cheaper than most hotels around the area, and parking at $25 a day is expensive but is the market rate around Waikiki. There are three working elevators that are actually […] pretty fast, but considering the number of rooms/people/and floors it needs to cover, they do get pretty backed up. The hotel/rooms are a little dated but not dirty. Our room was always kept clean by the wonderful and nice maids that work there. To be honest, who goes to Hawaii to stay in the hotel??? It's the perfect stay for anyone who just needs a clean place to shower and sleep without any frills. I'd definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at OHANA Waikiki West Hotel for 9 days. During our stay the cleaning staff always made sure our room was clean and we had clean fresh towels. The only thing that was a little discouraging was the wait time on the elevators. The pool area was clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Works for me"
Enjoyed my week stay. The hotel was fine especially like the central location. The staff was helpful and Kea at the front deck was very good. Not too enthused about the elevators as they were crowded and often very slow. Disappointed there was not WiFi in the rooms and had to go down to the lobby to use I-Pad. "Nice for holiday stay"
This hotel is an older, but nice hotel and has all of the immediate amenitites needed for your stay. This is the second time I've stayed at Ohana Waikiki West. The location is good, it is withing walking distance of everything. The hotel also has a Chili's restaurant and pool bar with sandwiches if you want to stay on premises.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Top choice for the money"
I've stayed at the Ohana Waikiki West several times now. The location is excellent as it is only two blocks from the beach. The rooms have free cable Internet but there is also Wifi in the lobby. All rooms have a small fridge, coffee maker and an in-room safe. Your hotel key allows you to board the Pink Line trolley service that takes you to a few locations […] including Ala Moana mall. In you want to see more of the island, the hotel is convenient to many bus stops ($2.50 fare including one transfer). If you snorkel, I recommend Hanauma Bay or Shark's Cove on the North Shore. If you are on a real tight budget and can travel with one light bag or backpack, it's possible to take the bus from Honolulu airport to Ohana Waikiki West (about 45 minute ride) but note that they don't usually allow luggage on buses. TIP - Skip the IHOP and try breakfast or lunch at Eggs 'N Things. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We really enjoyed our stay. The people were friendly and the room was so comfortable. We also enjoyed the kitchenette and proximity to the beach. "good place to stay"
The staff was friendly, the room was clean. The only issue I could see was no in room wireless. But that is as advertised, they did have wired service in room and wireless in the lobby. The beach is just minutes walk from the hotel, there are plenty of shops around, a grocery store just across the street. The only problem with the kitchenette was my […] room had no pans to cook with. I didn't ask if I could get some from the hotel, so they might be available upon request. "Good overall hotel for everyone"
I like this hotel for a few reasons. It has an affordable rate, and Waikiki Beach is only a short walk away through the Hawaiian Marketplace. The staff is friendly and always offering to help. I got a room with a small kitchenette, and a Foodland was right next door, so I saved a ton of money on food & drink. The pool bar on the second floor is a great […] place to have a drink, enjoy the weather, and watch sports. It has a laundromat on premises, so I got to wash some clothes (like swimtrunks) that needed washing. Besides the Foodland, there are several other useful stores only a few steps away like a Starbucks, a Subway, and a nice cheesesteak place called Ono Cheesesteaks that also has a nice Kahlua Pork plate. In short, this hotel is affordable and convenviently-located with a friendly staff and all basic ameneties. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good stay at the hôtel Ohana Waikiki West"
Very Nice view fromage 8th floor, but very noisy at night because of traffic, people coming out from night club. I enjoyed staying at the hotel, it is cheap And close to the Waikiki activities. Employees at the hôtel are friendly. I will surelly come back.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel shuttle around Waikiki was handy to use, but often crowded. The concierge arranged my shuttle to the airport- $9 ride was well worth it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I wish that free wi-fi was available in our room, rather than just the lobby. The ability to print out our boarding passes without charge would also be a nice touch. This seems like an older hotel and should beGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel for the price"
Hotel staff was extremely nice, especially Brian at the front desk. The only thing disappointing about this hotel was the maid service. We had a room with a kitchen (which was equipped with very few utensils) and it had no sponge or way to clean the dishes, leaving us to assume they would be cleaned for us. Our dishes were never cleaned, our trash was […] never picked up, and our trash cans were frequently not emptied. Other than that the room was very comfortable and nice. Would stay there again Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We had to check out of our room at noon, but our flight didn't leave until 11 that night. The hotel stored our bags while we went shopping and laid out on the beach the rest of the afternoon. Then they provided a "Courtesy Room" to shower before leaving for dinner and the airport. Service above and beyond.Genuine Expedia guest review
i love the location , the room is just ok , i wish they will upgrade the roomsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"ONE NIGHT STAY WAS FINE"
This was an older hotel, BUT for its value and convenient location, the price could not be beat compared to other hotels in the area. The three elevators were slow, so we ended up taking the stairs to/from the second floor. There is a Chili's restaurant located downstairs and a Denny's across the street which were great when traveling with teenagers. […] The only reason I did not give a higher rating for hotel service was because when I called an hour before check-in time and asked for adjoining rooms rooms (which I knew was a long shot) or even on the same floor, my request could not be accommodated, and I learned later there was a vacant room next to ours. I had hoped some effort would be made but it was an immediate, "Sorry, there are no rooms." There was also some confusion on parking. It was not clearly communicated to us at check-in that we needed to place our hotel's parking pass on our dashboard overnight. Because we were there only for a night, we did not leave the hotel so we kept our pass in our room. We found a notice on our windshield the next morning. Finally, I'm not sure if it was only my imagination, but the complimentary bath soap left a weird film on my skin. I tried it twice and ended up using shampoo as soap. These are all minimal complaints. I trust the Ohana brand of hotels so I would stay at one of their hotels again but maybe for a few dollars more try their "East" hotel adjacent to the West. The Hotel is very nice & the location is excellent > The girl working the front desk is so nice, helpful & sweet ~ Lygia. Every request we had they met & were very helpful. If your going to Hawaii this is a FANTASTIC HOTEL & THE STAFF IS EXCELLENTGenuine Expedia guest review
If you want an affordable price you get a hotel a few blocks from the beach. This was an easy walk from Waikiki and all you need is around you: grocery, food spots, shopping. The hotel has a nice pool with bar just above street level. The hotel iteself has not been updated and has that damp, musty smell that a lot of hotels in Hawaii have. Our friends […] stayed nearby and although their hotel was very good it has that smell. The staff here was excellent and very patient. Our view was of the alley and straight across to another hotels balconies. If you want a view of the busy front street toward the ocean you must have to ask. It was quiet after about 2am. While the hotel was quite comfortable and in a great location, Honolulu is a huge city with lots of traffic & traffic jams. I was there back in the early '90's and it has changed quite a bit. We preferred the other Islands much more that Oahu.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our room was very nice and large. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the balcony every night. However, I've never seen a small shower. A very large person would not fit.
