I liked it. I didn't expect a lot but slept well in the big rooms. We had two beds with two different mattresses so we chose the one that was more comfortable. Valet parking was 23$ a day by professional staff. The room is outdated but who cares. We asked for an ocean view and were able to see the fireworks on Friday night. The bathroom was small but […] clean with good water pressure and temp control. The restaurant downstairs is a sports bar so we didn't eat there. Wifi is extra. The one thing I didn't like is the curtain didn't close all the way and if the neighboring lanai wanted to see in they could at all times until I rigged a sheet to cover the exposed opening. The bathtub didn't drain properly, you had to shower quickly or drown. The A/C didn't run properly, it sounded like it was dying. The lobby was impersonal as well as the staff. We had to scream over the bar music while we were checking in. The location was good and was within walking distance to the beach.

Location an staff are the best part. The rooms are ok. I've seen better and worst. Bed is hard, AC old, but it was clean and didn't smell bad. Didn't see the pool, but with the beach blocks away, there was no need. Overall good for shopping an beaching. Not for romanticism or honeymooners.

This hotel is very dated. It could use a good remodel. The beds were uncomfortable and two small for my husband & I to sleep on side by side. The hotel staff was delightful. The location is nice, all within walking distance of the shopping district and the famous Waikiki beach.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Worst beds ever, sunken and lumpy. Relatively clean, outdated furniture. Mandatory valet parking for $18.99/day plus tax! Plus you feel obligated to tip every time because the staff is so nice, so that's more $$$ out of pocket.

This hotel was great for my 6 hour stop over. Staff very helpful and rooms comfortable enough for a quick stay. The hotel is a tad rundown and the cleaning staff needs to go that one step further.

Invest in a fitted sheet...every morning I woke up to dissheveled sheets and a bare mattress. Probably because there was no fitted sheet. Room was on the smaller side and was okay as far as decor and cleanliness goes. No bathtub for the kiddos. Pool not heated. Front desk staff is friendly. Parking is valet only at $18.99 per day. We parked at the hotel for the first night only because with tip, it was going to cost us over $125. There is a parking garage across the street that charges […] $15 for a 24 hour period. It's $3 for 0-2 hours, $5 for 2-4, and $10 for 12 hours. You park your own car and take your key with you. There isn't anyone to tip for doing their job. The garage is locked up between midnight and 6:00, but that wasn't a problem for us because we got back to hotel by car by 10:00 P.M. and didn't need the car until 7:00 A.M. I think it's called Diamond Parking. It's safe. We had no problems. It's not a bad thing that the garage is locked up for several hours because you don't have to worry about anyone messing with your car. The elevators are locked, so even pedestrians can't get in. Make sure to take anything you might need overnight with you because you won't be able to get to it until 6:00 the next morning. Read more

My group and I chose this hotel based on its price, reviews, and pictures availble via the web. I have to say that we got exactly what was expected. Only portions of the hotel are updated to more modern features, and the room we stayed in was definately NOT up to par with the lobby. Out toilet seemed to be leaking, and our bathroom smelled like sewer […] from time to time. It didn't bother us too much since we only needed the room to shower, change, and sleep. Location wise, I think is good. We were less than a 3 minute walk to shopping on Kalakaua, and freeways were slightly easier to access from the hotel than if you were to stay more towards the other end of Waikiki. Not sure that I would recommend this hotel to a friend, but if I had a tight budget in mind, I personally would not mind staying here again. Read more

Because we were only staying one night I was ok with the accommodations. I would not have been happy if I had to stay more than one night. The mattress was broken -- sank in if you tried to sit on the bed to put on your shoes. The room was dark -- none of the lights were sufficiently bright for comfortable reading. Although there was lots of traffic noise, the closed lanai doors and heavy drapes kept it quiet. I only saw 2 cockroaches in the room during the week I was there.

The good news is that it is a large room with 2 balconies. The bad news is the drapes and the furniture appear to not have been updated in at least 35 years. TV reception and channel selection is terrible. If they renovate the place could be great again.

If you want a hotel simply as a place to sleep, shower, and keep your bags, this is the cheapest clean spot in Honolulu. If you want a resort, go elsewhere. Also, parking is $20/day and there is a $4/day fee to use the safe in the room.
