"over rared"
This is older hotel , beach front location , how ever rating should only be 4 star at the most . Service desk short of help , only one person , and more customers have to wait . "Not a luxury hotel,"
When we checked in we were not told where the parking garage was. We followed a valet parking guy to find it. It would have been nearly impossibe to find We got incorrect info from a concierge on car route The wall switch by entry door turned on fan and overhead light. The light/fan had two chains to turn either one on or off, but chains were too […] high to reach. When I asked to bellman how to turn off either of them he told me to jump, which he did to. Later in our stay maintenance fixed the chains, but not really. They made one chain longer by taking off part of the other one. Then we could reach one chain, but we would have had to stand on the bed and jump to get to the other one. The room had a lot of dust on several surfaces. The TV had very few digital stations, and there was no guide to see what was on and when. The only way to do it was to go station by station, and it was very slow in reacting to the remote. So we called down to ask how to get a guide, and the person who answered said to try a certain channel, which didn't have the guide, then she said to try another channel, and it didn't have the guide either. So she said she would have housekeeping bring up a TV guide. Well, they brought up another remote. When I told them what we really wanted, he told us they have guide or any way of seeing what was on. "The Royal Hawaiian Resort...too Expensive!!"
The hotel was way tooooo expensive for its quality.. We had ants in the room, and the service response to come spray for it was too slow ...Also, we had to pay a mandatory $20 per day for services we did not use, like parking, breakfast for kids and internet...You think with the high rate per day we would have gotten all this for free anyway!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

My husband and I were very much looking forward to staying at the "Pink Palace". We were not told the Ocean Towers were under renovation, which they were. We were told during check-in that floors 5-17 were closed. We were given a room on the fourth floor. The bathroom in our room was not in good shape, (bathtub was old and had some rust stains). "Not Impressed"
Had vey high expectation from the 5 star hotel, check in process was very unprofessional. We got at the hotel at 1PM, but checkin time is 3PM, so waited two hours. They didn't had room ready at 3PM, we needed two rooms, so we finally got our first room at 5PM and send room around 7PM. Check in staff were not even acknowledging that we waited that long. […] After we checked in hotel was great, rooms were clean and location is perfect for the beach. Checkout process was also cumbersome. While waiting on the queue concierge were talking on the phone all the time not even acknowledge that you need help. Location is great by I would not recommend the hotel. dark small rooms, the cormer one was just okay , tears in bedding. we were told by staff that we are allowed to use pool of neighbour hotel ,went there ,the staff at this pool invited us back to one of their other pools ,knowing we stayed in the royal hawaiian but back at our hotel they said we aren't allowed to go there or we will be thrown out by […] said staff who just had invited us . now what ? not worth the money ,no matter how much discount you get . We also apologize for the confusion regarding the pools. Guests of The Royal Hawaiian may enjoy both the Royal Pool and the Resort pool, but are not permitted to use the Edge pool next door at our neighboring resort. We hope that clarifies the situation but do apologize for the experience that you had, and hope you will give our iconic resort a second chance to reveal or true royal services.
"Not a Five Star Experience"
We booked the Royal Hawaiian for a special occasion as we wanted the best possible hotel experience. Maybe our expectation of this hotel was too high, but I just can't see what all the fuss is about. The rooms in the old part of the hotel are incredibly average, dark and dingy and reminded me of a roadside motel. Servicing of our rooms was so inconsistent, […] it became funny after a while. Some days no towels, some days, 8 towels! and my biggest pet-peeve, several days without bottled water, which they are charging you for in the resort fee they have brought in recently. Our experience with the service at this hotel was average at best. We had our child with us and only once out of 8 days did the concierge staff help to lift our stroller down the stairs, one of the days they looked at us directly and continued to talk amongst themselves. The staff at breakfast one morning had a bickering argument when one of the lovely older waitresses had accidentally served our table, the staff member who was allocated our table was furious that the older lady was on her turf and shouted at her in front of us. Don't expect service at breakfast either, they make you wait to be seated even when there a numerous tables free. The hotel foyer is beautiful and the Mai Tai bar fantastic! For the cost of this hotel stay we really were disappointed, it's almost deceiving that the RH has a 5 star rating, I have stayed in a few 5 star hotels in my time and this was by no means even close. "Check- in and general service"
The checking experience was not good. We arrived in the morning after an all night flight and were advised we would not be able to access our room until 3.00. We asked about the possibility of an earlier checking and were told to check with reception later in the morning. We did this several times - the staff took no proactive approach to help us or […] alert us to the fact that our room was in fact available. For a 5 star hotel this does not rate as good service. The restaurant staff were pleasant and the room staff were efficient and helpful. It is probably time to update the restaurant menus and smarten them up a bit to meet the 5 star level. "Royal Hawaiian - Return visit disappointed us."
We had a great 10 day stay last year at the Royal and were keen to get back, however we were disappointed this time around. The room we were given was not up to standard of 5 STAR property. We had a smell from bathroom drains, an ant inferstation around the bedside tables and very meager housekeeping service. After 2 nights we were moved to another […] room which was much better including the housekeeping service. Its disappointing to have to request bottled water when it should be provided and bed turn down service also had to be repeatedly requested?? "管理が今一つ。"

"窓があかずバルコニーがないのは残念"
ガーデンビューのジュニアスイートを予約したのですが当日フロントでオーシャンビューの部屋に同じ料金でグレードアップできますよといって喜んで部屋に行ったらオーシャンビューとはいえ2階のヤシの木が前面にあるような部屋でビューはあまり良くなく夜までショーの音がうるさくテレビも見れないような状況でした。またせっかく気候がいいハワイなので窓を開けたかったのですが窓が開けれない部屋(他の部屋もそうかもしれませんが)でたまたま1泊だけだからよかったのですが4泊とかしたらいやになっていたと思います。ホテルの雰囲気、部屋の状況、ビーチで専用のスペースがあったことについては非常によかったです。Genuine Expedia guest review
dieses Hotel hat die allerbeste Lage und ich kenne es seit fast 20 Jahren. ホテルのWi-Fiは無料で利用可能。 ホテルのスタッフの対応は親切です。 部屋はロイヤルグローブですがお風呂場が シャワーのみで水の出があまりよくなかった。 掃除はまぁまぁ。 チップに応じて変わるのか歯ブラシがそのままだったりアメニティの補充がされていなかった。 必要のないときは掃除を断り2日に一度2日分のチップを置くのが気持ちよく過ごせるなーと感じた。Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"アメニティサービスが…"
有ると書かれていたアメニティが、全て揃っていなくて、いちいちコンシェルジュに電話して持ってきてもらっていました。 そのたびにチップもかかるし、このクラスでそれはないだろうと思いました。 また、1日目のルームキーピングは、床に落ちていたたごみがそのままで、あきらかに掃除機をかけていないようでした。 期待が大きかっただけに残念。 フロントやベルマンの対応はとっても良かったですが、 次回はほかのホテルにします。Genuine Expedia guest review
"ロイヤル ハワイアン"
タワー棟に宿泊。 歴史を感じるホテルでロケーションなどには全く問題なし。しかし、古いだけあって設備面では新しいホテルにはかなわない。14階からの海の眺めは良いが、真下の低層建物の屋根の汚れが目立つ。また、部屋のエアコンの音が相当うるさい。 イースターのサンデーブランチ、やめればよかった。Genuine Hotels.com guest review
