The 21-floor Miramar at Waikiki Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii offers 357 rooms, perfectly situated only a block from Waikiki Beach, adjacent to the International Marketplace and within walking distance of the Aquarium and the Honolulu Zoo. The hotel is strategically located on city bus lines transporting guests to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, and other sights around the island.

Sammy's Restaurant, located on the fifth floor, is open for breakfast and dinner. Theater-style or banquet-style meeting space is available for up to 250 people. Wireless Internet connection is provided in the lobby and 5th floor pool deck free of charge.

Guestrooms at Miramar at Waikiki include "lanais" (balconies) overlooking the cerulean blue Pacific Ocean, Koolau Mountains or the city lights of Waikiki. Super Saver guestrooms are available for smokers.

"Good"
Check-in was a breeze, and the hotel makes a good first impression. It's in a good location - easy walk to many restaurants and shopping, close to the beach. After arriving in the room, I was disappointed to find that the reasons I booked the room were not present in the actual room. Within a couple minutes, I went back to reception and discussed the […] issue with the front desk. The service there was superb - it took a few moments to check my booking, and the hotel had availability to move me to the room I had actually booked. No one was sure what the mix up was, but it was quickly and easily resolved. I did not go in the pool, as it is a very small and closed off area, though it did seem to be rather empty in the late morning. It did look clean and well-kept. I could see staying at this hotel again, especially knowing that the front desk is top notch and tried their best to assist. They made me feel welcome, and after the initial setback, really did strive to make things right. The level of service seems higher than similar hotels - I never had to wait here as I have at other Waikiki reception lines. A very pleasant surprise to find we had been upgraded to an ocean view room. Miramar is a very centrally located hotel with bus, trolleys, international market, supermarket and food outlets right at your door. A quick dash through the markets and you're at the beach. "Good Value Hotel in Waikiki"
I stayed here for 5 nights and thought it was worth the money. It's one of the cheaper hotels in the Waikiki area and so you can't expect everything to be perfect. The room is a little run-down but not bad at all. It was clean except the shower which had some mold under the soap dish. The shower hot water in my room would cut out occasionally for some […] reason (it wasn't for lack of hot water since I could solve the problem by turning off the shower and then turning it back on). My room didn't have a bathroom ventilation fan which I thought was odd and may have been an issue if I hadn't been traveling alone. I liked the location as it was only a couple blocks from Waikiki beach. The bed was decent. There's no business center, but wired internet is offered in the rooms and wi-fi in the lobby. The staff were friendly to me the couple of times I talked to them. I tried the on-site restaurant for the breakfast buffet, but didn't think it was worth the money. "Solid 4 star hotel at Waikiki for average people"
My wife and I were looking for a place to use for free hotels.com nights and chose this location. The hotel is undergoing some updates so the rooms you find here are the older rooms. You have to go to the hotel's website to get updated rooms and other packages/options. Nevertheless, the hotel is a very good location relative to the beach (short walk). […] The market across the street is good for food and other items. The Parking is $20 per day which I was not happy about but is understandable in this area. The concierge desk was helpful in suggesting things and the staff was ok. I kept getting phone calls in the mornings and when I answered, the person hung up. I have no proof but based upon the constant questioning of when I was checking out coupled with the fact I leave "do not disturb" signs on hotel doors wherever I stay, I think they were trying to passively agressively find out when they could clean my room or if I was in there. Pretty sketchy thing to do, but like I said, I have no proof. I just got calls every hour every morning and they would stop around noon (check-out time). Overall, a solid stay. The hotel staff is a bit slow and some are more accommodating than others. It is clean, the beds and pillows not very comfortable though. Skimpy on towels. "Great location"
The hotel was very full and the elevators took a long time and it did not help when one was out of service. The first room was on the 11th floor at the front of the hotel on Kuhio Ave and very noisy with street noise and all the wind. Requested to move and they moved to the back on the 12th floor, the a/c did not work but they got it fixed within an […] hour. This room was much quieter but other guests running from room to room and slamming doors after 11:30pm at night was annoying. Kimi at the pool bar was a joy and introduced us to a new shot - pickle puss (pickle juice and vodka). "Not-so-bad for the price"
Hotel is just behind of the International Marketplace. Plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel, but neighborhood gets dirty at night because there are some low-rated bars around too. Even though hotel is just a couple of blocks away from the Royal Hawaiian Center and Waikiki, you can really see the difference, but I guess you get all of that […] because of the price. Hotel was really clean in the room, although things are kind of old. Not the mattress though, since I slept really well. I didn't like the fact that there is no WIFI in rooms, but there is in public areas in the hotel. No microwave also, but there is a fridge. You can hear the noise from the street with the doors of the balcony or lanai closed, not a lot though. "Miramar, better than Turtle Bay"
Originally booked 7 days at the 4 star Turtle Bay Resort. That place was such a disappointment, I cancelled & moved to the Miramar. We said many times during our trip "so glad we switched!" The hotel & staff were wonderful. Lobby was open & inviting, free wi-fi internet was a plus. Was told by Expedia employee this hotel has free on site parking, but […] it doesnt. That was $20 for 24 hrs (in & out) which Expedia is reimbursing us for. Short walk to the perfect spot on Waikiki beach. I prefer the walk, gives you a chance to check out the neighborhood, shops & grab food en route to the waves. Back to the hotel! Hotel has 4 regular elevators which were never broken down during our visit, and they have one open glass elevator which I used to enjoy the city view up to my room. Hotel was always clean, room was spacious & laid out nicely. The fridge was perfect. Large enough to hold our leftovers & chill bottles of mai tai without problems. The sliding glass door to the lanai was HUGE, not kidding, and opened all the way up so it was like sleeping outside. We were up on the 16th floor, above the surrounding hotels so we could see the ocean & check Waikiki's surf conditions just by glancing outside. Love that. Free coffee every morning, nice big bathroom with newer shower spray handle (loved this for rinsing out swimsuits). Our clock radio had an mp3 input which was acting sensitive, we called the front desk for a new one and they promptly showed up with a new-in-box clock radio. Nice. "forget the rental car"
There was a musty smell in the room that we did not enjoy but the room did appear to be clean. Maybe a problem with the air handling system? We rented a car when we arrived at the airport but should have saved the money. City bus routes covered everywhere we wanted to go without the hassle of driving in a very congested area and trying to find parking […] spaces.
