Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.

The rooms are nothing like the photos posted online. Also, they conveniently do not post pictures of the bathrooms. The top couple floors have been renovated somewhat recently, and have ok rooms. (Bathrooms still out-dated and gross.) Bottom ~15 floors are awful. Dirty, stained walls. Ceiling over tub sagging in. Tub and 70's style tile is dirty. Also, […] the neighborhood is very average. No good food. Lots of bad chains (KFC, BK, Round Table) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"FIND A DIFFEENT HOTEL"
This is the most consumer unfriendly hotel that I have ever stayed in!!!! We made a reservation for March 15 but because of airline flight changes, we had to add the night of March 14. When I checked in, I requested that we check in for both nights, 314 & 15. We were told that they could not do that because they were treating our reservations as two […] separate reservations in their computer. There fore, we would have to call "Room Control" between 6 and 7 AM on 3/15 to see if we could stay in our room. I called at 6:15 AM on 3/15 and I was told that we would have to vacate our room by Noon and check back in after 3PM. It is a Japanese hotel and nobody speaks clear enough English to discuss the stupidity of their position. The did offer a $60 fee option for me to keep the same room. The internet is not WiFi and it has very poor service. There is no heat in the rooms and there are no extra blankets. The room temperature dropped to 63degrees F during the night of the 15th and I froze but they didn't ruin my vacation with my grandson. There are many many better hotels adjacent to this property. "DO NOT STAY HERE!!!"
This hotel has very poor customer service all the way down from the management to the housekeepers. To begin, we booked a king bed room and was given a double bed room with tiny full size beds. Then, the water in the bath tub flowed extremely slow. Lastly, the housekeeper entered our room without knocking when we had the "do not disturb" on the door! […] When I reported it to management, they made me out to be a liar. I will never go again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would never recommend this hotel"
The room had a smell to it and no matter what we did it wouldn't go away. We sprayed over 1/2 a bottle of air fresher and left the sliding glass window open. The bed are very uncomfortable and the shower smelled like mildew. You can hear all the noise from the street below even on the 16th floor and from your neighbor if they have obnoxiously loud children. […] I would not recommend unless you are limited on funds and want to stay in a Las Vegas like setting. Lots of shopping, restaurants, and the beach are within walking distance from the hotel. If you plan to stay in Wakiki the entire stay don't rent a card they charge 20.00 a day to park at the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Welcome to Sodom and Gomorrah"
This place was a big mistake. The old addage, you get what you pay for was never more true here. There is no easy check in if you are driving, since the parking garage is actually a separate enterprise that requires you to always go down into the lobby, then to the elevators, then up to your floor. The hallways are dingy, and the place could use implosion. […] The smells are pretty bad, although I admit, I didn't actually see the roaches until the last day. The Fridge barely worked, and looked it had been through heck, although the bathroom, was clean, and the bed was okay, as was the TV. The pool deck was facing into a parking lot and outside the hotel you will find yourself fending off drug dealers or prostitutes, or just about any type of life. If this is your type of place, then go for it. Otherwise shell out some cash and stay somewhere nicer. It really seemed the block this hotel is on was the worst part of Waikiki. "Great service, great location"
Hotel staff were very willing to be of service and very flexible. Also, the hotel itself is in a great location for the price. The hotel staff (reception staff, bell staff, etc.) worked hard to please us--even going as far as to let us check in before the standard check-in time and giving us at no extra charge a better room than we had originally r […] eserved.
