Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. When we checked in, the staff didn't even mention to us that he was giving us a room that was so closed to the elevator. We got to the room around 4:00pm.and unpacked. After dinner when it's time to sleep, we finally realized that the sound of elevator going up and down is really very annoying and very loud. We are staying at the hotel for 6 nights […] and we have a lots of stuff with us that's is why we didn't bother to be reassigned to another room. If the receiving clerk mention to us that the room is close the elevator, I would have refuse it in the first place. I probably wont mind it if we're still young but we are in our 50s. I guess the clerk doesn't even care about their guest. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa Aloha, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. It appears as though you are currently on property. We have shared your comments with the front desk supervisor. We encourage you to follow up with a manager on duty. Apparently you were offered a room move as you mention in your post. Given that you have opted not to move you may want to consider other options such as a tranquility package which will provide you with ear plugs, soothing sounds, etc. We hope that our team will be able to turn this visit around for you and provide you with everything you need for a more pleasant stay. Mahalo for bringing this to our attention.
I expected more space in the rooms and may be a micro-wave. The staff and service was great but for a place in paradise the room was not so great. I would not book it again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Excitement to disappointment"
I was so excited when I walked into the hotel and saw how nice and interesting the lobby/shopping area was. (The hotel over all stay was fine and the atmosphere was fine but upon check in my excitement vanished). The gentleman who checked my husband and I in said the mountain view king room we booked was taken but he had an upgrade for us. I am not […] one to be difficult so I was fine with the change until he told us the change was to a 2 double bed 'ocean view' room. I was not satisfied with this because I had come all the way from the east coast of NC where I have plenty of ocean to look at but no volcanoes/mountains and husband is a very tall man who can not fit in a double bed easily by himself let alone with another person. We tried to get any other room for the king bed for my husband but he said they were all taken. The gentleman even smirked a little when we were requesting this. I understand rooms tend to get mixed up but I do not think it is appropriate to smirk at a customer who has chosen to stay at the hotel. He then told us about the room fees which my husband insisted he waive. The gentleman did waive the fees but with the waiver we did not get the room extras such as wifi (which was fine but is that really waiving them?). Once in our room we opened the curtains to see our 'ocean view' which was the other tower of the hotel, the city, and a pinch of the ocean. The main view was of the other tower of the building which was pretty disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Loud, aging, and crowed."
This hotel need to be updated in a big way. While the hotel and more importantly the rooms apper to be clean. They are aging and look well worn. The AC does not work very well and can take hours to cool your room. If you are on a lower floor be prepared as Waikiki is VERY loud. At night the streets fill with tourist and street hustlers and preformers […] and the noise fills the air. If you are looking for a quite relaxing hotel, this isn't it! But then again, all of Waikiki isnt for you either. The room service is poor, and over priced (but what hotel isn't!) I would stay else where Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worse hotel experience for a long while"
They put us in a room next to the elevator shaft and every time the elevator moves, it sounded like a train has passed by, so by all means DO NOT stay in one of these rooms. After me complaining to the staff, they moved us to another room but the heater wasn't working in that room. I know this is Hawaii so why do we need heaters. Well I have an 18 months […] old with me and even though they set the thermostat to 72, there was no hot air coming up so the room turned out to be around 69 degrees when we arrived. I complained about the a/c to the staff but nothing was done to fix it. So I improvised by turning on the hot shower full blast and used the steam to heat the room up. Overall, this is one of the worse hotel experience I have ever had and never again will I stay at this very same Hyatt hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Towels woefully thin, extremely large hotel, not well managed, that caters to men and Japanese. If you're not either, be prepared to be disappointed. I'm a gold passport holder and feel that I was treated shabbily. I won't stay there - or probably any Hyatt - again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Think "Hliday Inn," not "Hyatt Regency""
The rooms are poorly furnished and arranged: one easy chair, one hard desk chair, a small desk up against the wall and a small buffet with an ancient LG TV on top, a small refrigerator below, a safe, and three small drawers. That’s it for drawers. There is a small closet. Apart from the bed and side table, that is it for furniture. You can’t unpack […] most of your suitcase because of the limited storage. If you order room service you’ll be eating with the plate on your knees. Want to watch TV? You’ll have to lie on the bed, because there is nowhere to sit in view of the TV. Glassware consists of two small glasses in the bathroom. There is a one-cup coffee machine with paper cups provided. Towels are Holiday Inn-style: thin and cheap. No bathrobes. Single-ply toilet paper. The pool area is small, and the pool itself is not much more than a “plunge pool.” There are 20 or 30 loungers in the pool area with stained cushions. The poolside bar is so bare and uninviting and empty all of the time. The main restaurant is the same—large, unadorned, cold and usually empty. If you want to connect to the internet, make sure you are in a room where the wifi signal is strong enough to be usable. The front desk staff know where they are. Unlike all other Hyatt Regency hotels I’ve seen, the lobby has nowhere to sit. I mean that literally. I have only three good things to say about the Hyatt. It has a great location, it's scrupulously clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Noise from every direction"
The hotel is noisy enough to rob visitors of sleep. Some noises are design issues & some are location, but the most disappointing ones are the noises that would be easy & economical to resolve & they just have decided not to do it. With 1400 units, it's a $100M operation. They could easily resolve the issues we're referring to. We've stayed in much […] quieter hotels in Waikiki for less money. They told us the average visitor comes from Japan and stays just 3-4 nights. The staff at the front desk, management & middle-management levels may be accustomed to telling people what they think they want to hear & then they're gone, but we had an extended stay, so our complaint did not go away so easily. We should have changed hotels after 2-3 nights. We got only 2 nights sleep out of 29 nights. We wouldn't stay in a room there again if they offered the room for half the price. Hotel guest support and front desk understaffed and mostly rude; way-way nosy at night with street vendors (drums, heavy music, huge crowds gather, boombox's, etc) surrounding the front and right side of the hotel (as you face the beach) and up and down the main drag. "Street Noise Heard"
First off, the elevators are slow, had to wait for 5 minutes at one time. Second, although we were on the 9th floor, soundproofing is poor. We can hear the loud music from across the street till 10 at night, we can hear the people singing out on the street, and we can hear people screaming out on the. If you are on your vacation staying on a hotel, […] one expects some peace and quiet to relax but if I hear noise from the outside, and form the 9th floor to say the least, I say stay away from this hotel. "Sheister Front desk resort fee scam"
I booked this hotel and paid up front weeks in advance with a credit card. When i got to the resort after a HORRENDOUS shuttle ride -(they contract with Speedi Shuttle which is over-priced, unprofessional, and dangerous.) the woman at the front desk asked to hold $50 on my debit card for "incidental charges" that will be credited back. AFTER she ran […] my card, she informed me that there is a (significant) MANDATORY per DAY resort fee that will NOT be credited. The resort fee includes use of the internet, pool, and in room safe (which was not even in the room). This should be disclosed when the room is booked, or at the very least BEFORE they run your card. "Too much expectation"
Expectation was high, because it is Hyatt. Turned out it was at most a below average hotel with the big name. The view from the room was very nice. But the niceness stopped there. The room was not very clean. Linens were very old. Bed was hard and not comfortable. Escalators were not functional half the time. Bath tub was very slippery and water pressure […] was low. The service at the front desk was also not very professional. They were supposed to call us when the room was ready, but they forgot and no apology Overall, unless, I crave for the view from the same room, I would not go there again or recommend the hotel to anyone. "Hotel Needs Massive Makeover"
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency as a 18 year old in 1984 and it seems that the hotel has not been updated since. While the room view was nice, the general state of the hotel and room was awful. Firstly, a large mold stain was visible next to the poorly designed AC unit that hits directly on the bed. The carpet in the hallways was visibly warn and the […] plumbing in adjoining rooms was audible in our room. It is regrettably that a hotel with such a good location in Waikiki has not addressed the need to upgrade the room fixtures, most importantly the A/C system. I would definitely not recommend this hotel over competing hotels in Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Thank you for the opportunity to express our disappointment. We had 2 small boys with us & the pool was under construction, they offered another pool, 3 blocks away, but hardly the same. Also the construction noise was disturbing, between the jack hammer & the crane you could hear nothing else. "HAD HIGHER EXPECTION"
This will be my wife and mine first time in Hawaii on our honeymoon. As we there was only 1 person at the Service Counter helping someone. We waited patiently about 8-10 minutes, then I asked if there was another person that could help as the line was forming up. Someone finally came out from the back, gave us the keys and pointed us to the elevator. Building […] is really nice and clean. Went to room was pretty large and had some view of the city and part of the beach. We were impressed there. Our trip was 8 days/7 nights. We could have saved $600-800 if we would stayed at places like The Princess Sheraton. Being on our honeymoon, I didn't want to take a chances with smaller place. Two days later we wanted to go swimming pool, but it was CLOSED! Under Renovation! Had I known this, no way I would have booked it. Complained to Manager see if he can give us free breakfast or something, he said "NO" not even 1 free breakfast. Told me it was all over the website. And if he gave us 1 breakfast, he would have to give all the guests a complimentary breakfast. Was told to go Merritt, about 4-5 min walk if we wanted to us a pool. Gave us a free champagne card for honeymoon and sent us away. WOW!. I looked at the Hyatt website, you have to go deep to find it to see "pool closed". Anyways, building wise the Hyatt is very nice, but the management and staff is not very personable. Our room had view of Princess Sheraton, their pool looked nice. LOOK ELSEWHERE! Need to provide better lighting in rooms for reading, such as swing out wall units. Room too dim for reading as night stand lights are too low. "Very disappointed. Won't be staying here again."
Would not recommend for families or for those who like regular cups of tea:) During our stay, on asking them, staff at the desk told us that there was no kids club (that it advertised a kids club was the whole reason I chose the hotel). I didn't trust this answer because I was sure it was on the website, so we asked the concierge, and were able to book […] it, but they asked as not to as my 2 children were the only ones requesting a place. We needed to give 72 hours notice to book a place in the kids club. It only went from 9am-2.30pm. kids club only did 2 activities ie going to the aquarium and the zoo (the kids had a great time at these 2 activities) * The hotel is in a great location. * There is "free" wifi. * There are 2 free bottles of water per room per day. Other than these 3 things, I would not recommend this hotel at all. It is completely dated. Everything is old.The pool and pool area is way too small. Had my first massage at the spa, which was adequate, but chose to have several other massages elsewhere. The lineup at the desk was slow. There was no kettle in the room, there were no ceramic cups in the room and one teabag per day. No milk. Two paper coffee cups were left in the room per day. There was no minibar, but a fridge with 2 bottles of water added per day. I really did not understand the whole place as it was really different to hotels that I have stayed at before. Maybe it was catering to a different type of customer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Where's the Ocean View we paid for?"
If this was just about the quality of the hotel then I’d be scoring a 4 or 5. The rooms are nowhere near as impressive as the modern Vegas hotels, but they’re on a par with similar hotels in other cities. The big disappointment was the view. This was to be a very special holiday and when we booked the main criteria was an ocean view and we chose the […] Hyatt because it was a high-rise with nothing between it and the ocean, and of course we paid for an ‘ocean view’. We were given a room on the 14th floor (out of 40+?) which had a ‘view’ of a multi storey car park filling the entire window; certainly taller than the floor we were on. If you stood next to the window by the bathroom door, looking sideways you could just see the ocean, but from nowhere else. Bitterly disappointed I went back to reception to explain we’d paid for an ocean view. The clerk said we ‘did’ have an ocean view. After some debate he said he could offer an ‘upgrade’ after 2 nights in the room we had. Day 3 arrives and we were excited to pick up the keys to the ‘upgrade’…which was exactly the same style/size of room as we had, just one floor higher on the 15th floor, but 45 degrees ‘round’ the building so we could see the ocean. Not ‘head on’, but a view none the less. This was not an upgrade, just the room we had paid for in the first place. If you don’t care about the view then this is a good hotel, but I wouldn’t take the risk of choosing the Hyatt for an ocean view if that’s important to you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Genuine Expedia guest review
(気遣いや迅速さ等)Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review
