"Bad first room"
My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting my sister and brought my dog. I understand that my room choices may be affected by the dog, of course. However, we were put in a room right next to the hotel bar. Friday night was jazz night which only went til 10:30, but drunk people yelling up and down the halls apparently went much longer. Saturday night […] was karaoke and went until 1AM! Finally, at 11 I called the front desk and asked to be moved, which we were, to a much quieter room down the hall- why weren't we already there? And our bathroom was handicapped, which I respect but the shower water got all over the floor as there was no wall or lip to catch water so you had to go to the bathroom barefoot or else you'd be soaked... "Great service"

There were a lot of homeless and transient people on the street at night in the vicinity of this hotel. As a result people going out during the evening should plan on either driving or taking a taxi. Hotel front desk staff also suggested this during my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Hotel in boring town"
I recently stayed in the Red Lion hotel in Eureka on my way home from Seattle. Although the town of Eureka is nothing special, especially for a college student like myself, this hotel was great! It is pretty big, probably the biggest building we saw in the whole city, and the rooms were huge! My room was on the third floor and came complete with two […] sinks and a balcony. The beds were incredibly comfortable, much better than the other hotels on my trip. The bathroom was very nice and so was the TV, which included free HBO. "Red Lion Inn in Eureka-don't expect any service"
The front desk at the Red Lion in was polite, helpful and informational. The condition of the hotel was ok, but much better than most in the town. My companions and myself headed into the hotel lounge for appetizers and drinks, two hours before it closed. We sat ourselves at an empty table, where we sat unattended while the two servers/bartenders served […] other tables and cleaned glassware. The bartender made eye contact with us serveral times, and never bothered to help us. We sat uncomfortably for 30 minutes, while the two employees basically refused us service. I am a bartender in San Francisco and I have never felt more unwelcomed and uneasy. If this is a "regulars" bar in town, we sure weren't welcome. We finally just got up and walked out. "Red Lion Eureka - nice place to stay"
Enjoyed my stay. Some of the reviews complain about rooms with stained carpet - mine was immaculate. Bed was a little soft and pillows very soft - bring your own if you need good head support.
