Other than the room service tray that was outside the room next to ours almost our entire stay, it was quite nice. Friendly service. Plenty of parking. Close to many attractions and stores. I thought the pool was rather small in comparison to the web site photo. They could change that photo to represent a more true depiction. Very nice fitness room. Hotel is in a great location and it was clean. he blow dryer in my room broke and I called room service and someone was there at my door with a new one within a few minuets. We had heard that the hotel was "okay", put where pleased to find it a solid 4 out of 5. Our room was first rate, with comfortable bed and flat screen TV. "Got What we Paid for"
We got a good deal on the Mountain View room but it was not that great of a visit. We got there around 7 pm and there was only 1 girl at the front desk. I felt so bad for her because she was answering every call while being chewed out by upset customers. She was very nice to us, though. We got to our room and the sliding door on the closet was off […] the guide and just laying against the top shelf. We could fit it back on, but still... We ordered room service (there wasn't a wine list but that could have just been something weird with liquor laws, I don't know) and then realized there were no pens to sign with in the room, and the poor waitress who brought it up didn't have one on her either. So......I walked down to the restaurant with her. She was gracious and apologized a lot but I don't know why they didn't even have a pen/pad of paper in the room. the hotel is due for a remodle our room heater fan was so loud that we had to sleep with the heater off. the hotel offers no movies, the shower water had to be turned on the hottest setting to have a warm shower.. good luck!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Salt Lake Red Lion"
The hotel was great, however, there was a problem with the wind coming through the sliding glass door. there was a great gap and kept the room a bit cool, had to keep the heavy drapes closed.Heat didn't work that great. The hotel area is not the greatest; one wouldn't think of crime when thinking of Salt Lake City- the annoyance of having a panhandler approach us on our way back to our room after dinner wasn't frightening but was not expected. I would hope that this hotel would consider having a security person stationed at the back entrance where we were told to park, […] after dark. My wife and I took a vacation day to Salt Lake City. This hotel was right downtown and would fit our needs for close proximity to events at a decent price. The pros: we booked a Mountain View room.
