I'll definitely recommend the place. Front Desk area ambience is really good, during thanksgiving, found it very festive. Breakfast is free for kids. Very caring and professional service at the front desk. We needed two rooms on the 3rd floor in the same lodge with great views and we had called in advance with that request. Instead of the usual "sorry, […] this is all we have left" in other hotels and giving up, we were pleased to see Stacy engage another colleague and together they worked the computer and house keeping for 15 minutes and got us the rooms that we wanted. The food at the 3 restaurants were good. The patio surrounded by glass with the open fire and great view was my favorite place. Also the doors to our rooms opened towards the inside corridor like a hotel (not outside like a motel). Rooms were spacious with walk in closets. Room had refrigerator. Microwave is available on demand. Room coffee was awesome. Royal Gorge and Cave of the Winds are reasonably close. Read more

For a family with small children I would strongly reconsider booking this hotel . Upon arrival, in 25 degree weather, we walked into the lobby to check in. Of course we unpacked most our things, brought our kids inside, only to find out our room was in no way connected to the beautiful lobby/restaurant/meeting room part of the hotel. Instead we have […] to get back in the car and drive at least a mile to the very farthest building where our room was located. I would call this a glorified motel. The door to your room is located outside. ALL the hallways are outside. Your room is completely by itself, in no way connected to anything else. To go and check our the restaurants etc. at the hotel you must bundle yourself and your kids up, strap them in the car seats and drive to the lobby. It's was pretty time consuming and not relaxing like I hoped. Also with small children like mine, they like to be able to move around. Being in a separate, outside building you have literally no place to go and stretch your legs unless it's outside in the freezing weather. Also when I questioned the receptionist about where our room was located (I was genuinely surprised this wasn't a normal hotel with indoor hallways to rooms) she was VERY rude and said the "main building only has 2 restaurants and a bunch of meeting rooms" . We really loved this hotel and will be going back but our particular room just had a few issues in the bathroom that hopefully are not an indication of the entire hotel. There was several spots in the shower that were moldy and I am a bit of a cleanliness freak, especially about bathrooms and so I was disappointed that with a hotel of this caliber there […] was any problem with this at all. I didn't let my son take a bath because of it, so he had to shower and it was ok. There was also a sticky spot on the floor in the bathroom under the vanity. Checkin attendant was friendly, but rude in that she interrupted our conversation several times to answer the phone (and didn't put callers on hold, but talked to them as she was mouthing things to me!). The resort was very lovely and we enjoyed ourselves. The fitness center was wonderful and even included classes at no additional cost so check it out first thing if that is something important to you. The room was nice and the beds were a softer type which I just loved with views of the Cheyenne Mountains. We were highly disappointed by our room at this resort. We were assigned a room that was lower level facing a parking lot which was designated a "courtyard view". There were visible dust balls and dirty patio windows plus it clearly felt like we were in a basement! We complained and were moved to an upper level room which looked out over the back of […] another building and its large air conditioning units which were quite noisy and annoying. The bathtub faucet was hanging off the spout and though maintence came to repair it, it fell off soon after. The amenities of the resort are wonderful but the rooms leave alot to desire. We paid a very high rate for a very undesirable room! There was raw plywood around the ac unit in our room; it looked like the framing had been ripped off. The granite counters in the bathroom and elegant bedspreads couldn't cover up the tackiness of the rooms. Read more

We picked Cheyenne Mountain Resort because it is 15 min. away from our daughter in Fountain, CO -- she and her family, and our other two daughters from St. Louis and my husband and I all got rooms at the resort so we could have a family vacation and play with our Colorado grandchildren in the pool and nearby tourist attractions. We were all very pleased […] with accommodations although meals and drinks were pretty pricey - would be nice to have some less expensive options. Also we asked for assistance with Pike's Peak reservations and were handed a brochure. Mini-bars were not stocked which would have been helpful with two little ones and no kitchen facilities in the rooms. also there was very little (or no) info about the lake and its canoes and peddle boats, splash park, playground, volleyball court -- we would have made use of it sooner had we known. And our rooms had a pretty poor view of the resort (tail end of Bear Creek Lodge, overlooking a parked camper). Shuttle service was very accommodating when we requested it. Overall, a very nice stay. The Cheyenne Mountain resort in Colorado Spring had the most comfortable beds on our entire trip. The whole resort was gorgeous. It was difficult to find, because it was in the middle of a residential area.

Beautiful, expensive hotel. Our stay would have been perfect if they could have fixed the airconditioning unit. Woke up to find entranceway floor flooded from airconditioner. Reported problem. Reportedly fixed, but did same thing when we returned that night and did not cool. Reported to management again upon checkout next morning. They were very gracious, […] but not having air in a very hot summer and slipping on wet floor was a big negative. They were updating all the rooms with big flat-screen TV's while we were there. The hotel is a beautiful place, but the staff in the lounge evening of the 4th and 5th of July was very inconsistent. The staff in the restaurant on the afternoon of the 4th were fighting about job's. The evening waitress on the deck of the firepit was amazing! The waitress in the lounge on July 5th was argumentative and very rude!!!!

Hotel has two extremes. On the one side the renovated rooms really pop out and they've done a good job there. On the other hand, the age of some of the other areas really showed. The pool needed alot of maintenance, the air conditioner in the room was loud and didn't work well. The views of the resort is spectacular. Lobby area is nice. Fireplace in […] the terrace. Hotel had great amenities but the rooms were far from main area. Had to carry luggage up and down stairs. And you could hear the people above our room so well that it woke us up at all hours of the night. That was the worst part of the stay. It was just so loud.

My 5 year old daughter had a hard time reaching the knobs in the bathroom sink and there was no step stool. She had the same problem getting into the beds due to the thick pillow top. The pool at the resort has a rough texture and she scraped her knees and foot. The pay per view movies were unusually expensive and although there are some close redbox […] rentals the rooms do not have a DVD player so you would need to bring a computer, and cable, to play a movie. The Cheyenne Mountian Resort is not a resort. This is a convention center. A great place for a meeting. The resort amenities were not obvious. The only "resort" thing we found was the pool. The hotel is really convenient to all the major attractions in the area. Its nice for family oriented events and pleasure. The outdoor pool and lake were very nice for the family and kids to relax and have fun with. For the $ you spend you should get free breakfast but you don't! The dinner buffets are ok but not nearly worth the high price charged. […] They are convenient though. The beds are some of the worst I've ever slept on in a hotel. Room amenities are dated and bathroom ackward. We had one incident of an employee being very rude on the 4th of july. The rest were all very pleasant and helpful.
