"Not what you think..."
For a family with small children I would strongly reconsider booking this hotel . Upon arrival, in 25 degree weather, we walked into the lobby to check in. Of course we unpacked most our things, brought our kids inside, only to find out our room was in no way connected to the beautiful lobby/restaurant/meeting room part of the hotel. Instead we have […] to get back in the car and drive at least a mile to the very farthest building where our room was located. I would call this a glorified motel. The door to your room is located outside. ALL the hallways are outside. Your room is completely by itself, in no way connected to anything else. To go and check our the restaurants etc. at the hotel you must bundle yourself and your kids up, strap them in the car seats and drive to the lobby. It's was pretty time consuming and not relaxing like I hoped. Also with small children like mine, they like to be able to move around. Being in a separate, outside building you have literally no place to go and stretch your legs unless it's outside in the freezing weather. Also when I questioned the receptionist about where our room was located (I was genuinely surprised this wasn't a normal hotel with indoor hallways to rooms) she was VERY rude and said the "main building only has 2 restaurants and a bunch of meeting rooms" . Now I see that isn't entirely true. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, horrible rooms"
I don't know how this is a 5-star hotel, out of 10 maybe. Good points: helpful and polite staff, the main building is very nice and compares well to other good hotels (like the Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC for example). Beds were comfortable, breakfast was pretty good buffet and reasonably priced. I was particularly impressed by the acoustics of […] the main hall - the background music sounded great for such a large room, not echoy at all, they must have had a good sound engineer. I also loved the huge lam-beams. Bad points: Constant smell of sewage as soon as you are out of your room, and all around the parking lot. Bathroom (room 106) very cold and ceiling vent very gross looking (see photo). Upstairs neighbors very noisy, not enough sound blocking insulation to prevent you from hearing them crash around. Bathtub very small. View was a parking lot. I didn't like the cold walk to the main building either - I think I would have really liked it if I had stayed in the main building (not sure if there are rooms in there or not). "Would Have Been Happier with Best Western!"
My girlfriend and I decided to come to Colorado Springs for our anniversary and we chose Expedia's last minute "Unpublished Rate" hotel room. The site said that it would be a random four star hotel of their choosing but after we booked the room we were upset to find out that the hotel had a mandatory resort fee of $15 per night. This was not disclosed […] to us before picking the unpublished rate and would have been a deciding factor for us had we known. The most direct "bridge" to get from our room to the lobby was closed during our entire stay along with other maintance closures which were slightly annoying. We would not recommend the $30 breakfast buffet; Country Buffet is cheaper, better quality and has way more choices. Overall it was not what we expected for a four star hotel and will not stay here again. Thank God we didn't have to pay full price! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Gorilla beds?"
A fine experience, until my wife pulled back the blanket and found body hairs of various lengths and colors all over the linens. At first we thought they just didn't change the sheets, but a maid brought in fresh sheets and they had them too. Maybe their laundry equipment need updating? Either way, it's nasty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"note impressed especially the service, it's very very lousy. Never ever recommend to people"
- not friendly - the concierge has no idea neither about local tour nor nice place to visit i.e. Great Sand Dunes - they charge for resort fee $8/day but when I asked the way to the beach n swimming pool they told me the farther way which was actually can be access from the main lobbyGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Cheyenne Mountain Resort Please accept my apologies for the lack of consistency you experienced when seeking information from our staff, I can understand how frustrating it must have been. The property is large and the area provides many tours and attractions, but we should have done a better job in providing information to you. As one of the directors of the property I recognize that there are areas in which we must improve our service, and your candid comment have shown me where we might begin. Thank you.
"Cheyenne Mountain Resort - beautiful views but..."
Upon check-in, was told we were getting an upgraded room with a view. Unfortunately the room overlooked the adjoining golf and activities center parking lot - and a continuous stream of cars and trucks from early morning to late night. Our room was in sore need of an updating and serious cleaning - the bed was horribly lumpy; the air conditioner vents […] and bathroom fan vents were filthy, carpeting smelled. Although the property is advertised as non-smoking and there is a designated smoking area, many guests smoked in common areas and on room decks - unpleasant. If you decide to book a room - be sure to request a top floor - our room was on the second floor and although room floors are carpeted - you are able to hear every step, every movement of the upstairs neighbors. The amenities are nice - pools, tennis courts, fitness center, golf, lake. If you can overlook the negatives, the area is beautiful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
