"There are lots of Drury Inns around this one"
This one seems to be the oldest Drury in the area. The room was OK. The beds were adequate, but the mattress kept shifting off the box spring. The shower drained very slow and the breakfast was good. Overall the motel was a good place to stay. The motel was easy to access, the room was clean, the service was good, and the rate beat all other motels in the area with the same qualities. I travel to the St.Louis area a few times a year,and have stayed mostly at Hampton Inns.I will only stay where a daily hot breakfast is servered,as it is much better then having to get dressed and leave to eat.I thought I would try the Drury Inn this time around being the prices were around the same as the Hamptons.I stayed for 7 nights and I must say […] how unhappy I was to find out that the Drury Inn serves the SAME thing EVERY morning for breakfast.I know most people stay 1-2 nights at best and could get by with the same thing 2 days in a row,but no one could for 7.The rooms were clean and the hotel was also,but adding the cost of going out to breakfast 3 times really bothered me.If your staying a few nights the Drury Inn is just fine,but if your staying longer then head over to a Hampton Inn,they NEVER have the same breakfast as the day befores.As for me,its the Hampton Inn...I would like to know how the Hampton can mix it up....But the Drury Can't. "Would go back!"
We liked everything about the hotel except for the size of our room. We had a king room and the bathroom was teeny. The sink was out in the main part of the room, with the shower and toilet in a very small space. We noticed in passing the double queen room had a larger bathroom with everything inside. We could also hear others going to the bathroom […] in the night when it was quiet. I think that's a hard thing to hide in a hotel and I've heard it in others so wasn't too put off by it. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, the room was very clean. We even went down to the dining area during free drink time and played a board game. I love that we get dinner with our stay. Dinner this time was not the greatest [most of it was overcooked and not many choices] but it won't stop us from staying here again next time. The staff was very pleasant. The room was nice, with refrigerator and microwave. The carpet in the room was clean (that's the first thing I usually observe). The breakfast was pretty good. The afternoon kickback is ok, but they serve the same food every day - I was supposed to stay there for 5 nights, got tired of chicken fingers and hot dogs on day […] two. During my stay there were a bunch of families with little kids all over the place. You had to wait in line during the kickback to get your drink because there is no real bar, just one (sometimes two) people serving drinks, which was the same line to then go on to get your hot dog or chicken fingers (remember those families with a bunch of little children??). The rooms were very quite, they allow pets (the main reason for my stay there) and the price is fair. It has a Denny's on one side and Cracker Barrel on the other. Convenient location for many family-friendly St. Louis activities, such as the Magic House and Transportation Museum. Not too far from the Zoo and Arch. "Not what I expected but decent"
When I called ahead the desk clerk was very rude, but once we got there everyone was nice. The room was much smaller then I was expecting for a "deluxe king". It didn't have a separate living area, just a chair. I had got it to be able to put the crib in a slightly separate room so this was disappointing. We were right above the lobby and could hear the phone ringing all night and could also hear the people at breakfast VERY early. The pool was open but was not heated.
