The Star is a cute little motel with retro 50s kitchen, turquoise walls, and little chandelier in the sitting room. It's across the street from the Congress Hotel, which owns and runs it, and about a block down the street from the beach. My only complaint about the hotel is that the management for some reason has failed to update the room service menu […] in the rooms. This was frustrating because I came back from the beach all sunburned and wanted to stay inside and order room service, but when I called they didn't still offer anything on the menu in the room. The hotel management knew the menus were out of service, but apparently couldn't be bothered to update them. I don't understand why an otherwise great hotel would overlook something like that. But it was my only complaint and I do generally recommend the place. Read more
