"Fine for a Quick Overnight"
We stopped briefly on a long drive - the room was fairly clean but double beds seem small and many things in bathroom were broken - towel bar fell off wall and the shower knob also fell off - it is also quite far off the highway (I-90) so not nearly as convenient as hoped. "Better this time"
We stayed here once before and it was disgusting. However we needed to stay in the same area again with our dogs and noticed that this place got much better reviews than our previous experience would indicate so we decided to give it a second chance. This time, to improve our chances, we got their "deluxe" room which is really just a few dollars more […] and still less than most of the competition. It wasn't the most spotless room we've stayed in but definitely acceptable and over all was pretty comfortable. This area along the Southern Tier Parkway is not known for it's fine food and accommodations. On the other hand, this would surely be one of the least expensive places you've stayed in and is pretty good for the price. Just be sure to take a good look at your room and be prepared to ask for a change if needed. The young man at the desk when we checked in was very friendly, even engaging the children in conversation. At check out, the young lady was business only, she didn't ask if everything was ok. Since there was no coffee maker in the room, with which I could make hot water for my tea, I used the hot water provided in the lounge. I was so disappointed that it tasted like coffee flavored dishwater. They forgot or didn't know to put a filter in the hot water maker or maybe even used a pot that had had coffee in it previously. I really count on […] having my tea after a long day of travel...or before another day of activities or travel. A one night stay doesn't tell the whole story on a hotel, but our one night experience here wasn't very positive. Bare bones room. A minimum number of thin towels, lumpy pillows, coffee only in the morning. When I arrived Hotels.com had blundered my reservation - which had been confirmed for six weeks prior- so I was not in the system. Fortunately there was a room available and with my printed reservation the hotel staff not only allowed me to stay and even reduced its rate to adjust for Hotels.com sloppiness. The inn it's self was ok.But never was there service at the front desk.You had to call on the phone at the front desk.There was the smell of smoke from cigerettes throughout the inn.My wife has asthma.It wasn't pleasant for her.The rooms were clean.We called the company to let them know about the problems.They were good about it.They are suppose to […] send us a free nights stay.at any red roof inn anywhere in the country.We have not recieved it yet.I don't know if i will go back to this inn.The manager says she will follow thru on the problems. It is a two star hotel, so I got what I paid for and expected. It was a busy weekend and this room was available.
