This was a bad experience all round. The room was miniscule and beds were rock hard, as was the pillow. The hotel reception clerk insisted on having a credit card on file "for incidentals," meaning to make repairs if we broke something. Obviously, that hadn't happened: the hallways had been trashed by former guest and not repaired; the remote on the […] TV didn't work; and the ice machines on all floors were nonfunctional--the staff's solution was that we go to their sister hotel next door and get ice there. The woman at the front desk when we arrived was very nice and helpful. Finding our room was a little difficult at first as there are unmarked doors blocking off hallways. It appears to be a smoking section barrier of some sort. The smoking section halls that you need to pass thru reek and the carpets are in desperate need of changing. The outside halls […] dont not smell but they are "under construction" and are very messy. The "pet" area is only a bunch of dead grass and weeds that no one seems to clean up.The woman working the next day did not speak English well and did not know what she was talking about. The room was clean enough, the mattress dip a little in the middle, the t.v. is a nice size and the ac works just great. The door slamming that is necessary to shut the doors, gets very annoying the middle of the night. Not a horrible place to stay. This hotel is above average in this price range, due mainly to it being under construction. Location isn't the best, but not in the slums either, Very close to the main roads and the breakfast is above average! The staff is helpful and attentive, The only downside is the limited parking, and the tight parking spaces. But we will return...

Pros: Nice sized room with good carpets, mattresses, furniture etc. Moved us on request to a room with a microwave and fridge, which was helpful when we did not want to eat out. The free breakfast is excellent with waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, bacon, eggs, and various drinks and juices. The pool has a lane divider to separate the shallow and deep parts, […] which is helpful for beginners and children. You get free internet, gym, and a helpful staff. Our first floor room had a French door, which opened on to the patio and the pool. It is not a casino hotel, so you are spared the strange music, lights, sounds, and the smoke. I understand that others may like these elements. Cons: The hot tub was not working. The bathroom was a little cramped. None of the photos depict the room I stayed in. The king sized bed would flip up if I sat at the edge, the bathroom really needs updating. There is renovations going on, but it looks to be on the stairwell/elevator areas. Stay at the Hawthorne next door. Thats what I did the next night. Anyways, you have to go there to eat the free breakfast.

It is located within a short distance of most major hotels and display rooms, very close to freeway access but I never heard any noise from it. When I called the phone number to the hotel before I arrived, it went to some random person's cell phone. Baymont Corporate offices couldn't explain and said they would get back to me with an updated number - which they never did. At check in, I confirmed if breakfast was offered and the front desk lady said yes, but failed to mention that it was across […] the parking lot at the other hotel. I was attending a conference at the Grand Sierra Resort Casino but didn't want to pay the inflated price of convention hotel rooms. So, I was looking for a close location that was cheaper. The Baymont Inn is an easy 12-15 minute walk from GSR across an empty parking lot, under one overpass, and crossing one busy street, ALL of which have crossing-lights. The […] room was clean, recently updated in newer style. I've stayed in several 2 star hotels in Europe, and would say this is a 3 star compared to Euro standards. High definition TV in the room with HDMI input ports, feed to the TV however is NOT high definition, but I don't usually sit in hotel rooms watching TV. There's free, very fast Wi-Fi - easy to connect to in the room. Breakfast was in a small, but clean room on first floor. Something for everybody-eggs, bacon, bagels, etc I walked from the hotel to downtown Reno in about 35 minutes (mid October) and walked along the river walk which is very nice. There's also public transportation on this route. The hotel offers a free shuttle to downtown Reno casinos which I did not use but could have. I like to walk. You could even walk to this hotel from the airport. I was carrying only a backpack. Roughly 30-40 minutes walking. Cons: The shower would periodically change temperatures while I was in it. The neighboorhood: right next to a used car dealership, lacking charm, but I felt safe and never uncomfortable. Not for your honeymoon, perfect for business/conference travelers. Read more

This is my first visit to Reno and staying in Baymont was a great choice. Though there was a slight hiccup at check in (when they gave me the keys to an already occupied room), they have impressed me over the days. Breakfast was a buffet of bread, bagel, waffles, cereal and yogurt. There were lots of spreads to choose from and they also had bacon and […] ham. Eggs came in scrambled. The room was neat and clean and the housekeeping maintain it everyday. Hotel shuttle was the best thing that happened here. The hotel shuttle was more than willing to bring me around to almost anywhere i want. I had a conference in Sparks, and they shuttled me to and fro for 4 days straight. They also brought me from Meadowood malls to Downtown reno and the legends. Unfortunately, The Summit Malls were out of their radius. But you could get them to shuttle you to the meadowood mall and take the RTCride 57(starting 2.24pm on weekdays) to Damonte Ranch where you can walk down south virginia street for a good 15mins to reach the malls. Overall its a good experience and Baymont inn and suites will be my first choice when i have to visit Reno again. Read more
