"Good stay right by the river in heard of Reno"
The hotel was easy to find right off the freeway. The valet parking was complimentary, which was a nice touch. The lobby was not a place I chose to spend a moment longer than necessary, as the smell of stale cigarette smoke from the casino floor (opposite the check in desk and open to it) was overpowering -- this despite a sign behind the reception […] desk that said "our lobby is smoke-free" hahaha. The room was good but not great -- 2.5 or 3 stars, not 4 as shown on the site here (oh and did have a shower and tub, despite the room description saying it had a "bathtub only"). In some ways the best thing about the stay was that the hotel overlooks the burbling Truckee River, and there are a nice set of paths and bridges to walk on beside it. This area is curiously not built up with shops or cafes, but it's still nice to walk on in the evening -- you just have to remember to walk all the way back around the hotel so you don't have to cut through the smoke-filled casino and lobby. It was a pretty nice hotel. Fun decorations. I have few complaints except that it took an exceptionally long time to get the towels we called up for and when we ordered drinks at the pool, the employee wasn't sure where we were calling from which I thought was strange. It also took near an hour to get them and it was 11am and we were the only people […] there. Everything here takes a long time to have happen with the exception of checking out and checking in. When we went to the little cafe, the hostess was very nice and sat us quickly, then we must have waited for 5 minutes before she realized no one had even come by. She had to go get the waitress, again hardly anyone was there. When we checked out I misplaced my valet ticket (valet is free so that's pretty awesome) and I asked what they would need. The woman at the front desk just casually told me I should just go ask them since they deal with that sort of thing all the time probably. Other than that, it was a nice stay. The room was an OK size but the beds are EXTREMELY hard. For some of you that might be a plus, it was as comfortable as the floor. The room itself was very clean and it was very close to everything. One of the best for the downtown area. Front desk tried to say my room wasn't available and hotels dot com should not have let me book the room. He wasn't very believable. "Great Restaurants were a HUGE Surprise"
The rooms were comfortable, the staff were exceptionally friendly, but the food was outstanding. Sushi Saga was one of the best ever and the cafe on the river was wonderful for breakfast along the Truckee River. "Outstanding Place to Stay!"
If you ever want an unforgetable memory then please stay here. The room was beautiful. The pool was absolutely without a doubt the best water in Reno. The service was way above expectation Luke retrieved our car and put our luggage in it for us when departing. Unbelievable! The staff never missed an opportunity to ask me, "Is there anything I can do […] for you?", Was your stay here a pleasant one? The food and service in the 24 hour cafe was excellent! I have stayed at the Siena before, and was happy to stay agai, after their re-opening from a closure.The casino and room were quite clean and higher-end looking, but not over the top as some can be. The drinks at Happy Hour were 1/2 prics, a good thing, but only well liquor is used. No bigg thing for me. Two nights here mid-week at a good rate. Hotel is more recently renovated than its more well known competitors a few blocks north. Just a block or two off the main downtown casino area. Clean, nice, smallish, friendly (of course--it's a casino), and not crowded when I was there. Rooms are not large but it suited me just fine. Our stay was average but we were surprised and disappointed by the $50 pet fee. We have a Yorkie and the web site showed pet friendly but no mention of the pet fee. Very small casino. Da Vinci restaurant not worth it, tough steaks. Rooms here were very small and ours overlooked the roof airconditionaires . They said they would upgrade if you joined their slot club. If they did I could not tell. Don't stay downtown in Reno, it's very seedy. A better stay would be the Pepper mill or Atlantis.
